All brilliant fantastic location, staff excellent and helpful, food fantastic. I have stayed in lots of 5 star hotels all around the world and this one tops them all. Good for families and couples without children. Such a beautiful location. Beach 10 mins walk away and the train takes you if you don't like walking. Thank you all the staff for making our holiday perfect.
Unfortunately this hotel is very tired and not up to a 5 star standard , not anywhere near it
Terrible bathrooms and shower with no pressure Very poor bath and beach towels Room not made until 4pm Worst quality sunbeds and parasols I have ever seen - years old Decking area dirty
What is fantastic are the views and the beach and the pool- this is what keeps people coming back and paying inflated prices- and what unfortunately keeps management from doing anything to improve things
The view was amazing and the service in general was really good. Everyone in the staff tries hard to help in everything they can. The only downside that I can actually point is that, because it is a family hotel that accepts children, sometimes the relax areas are not that relax because there are always kids running and shouting...
It would be perfect if for example the jacuzzi for example had some rules like do not jump in the pool or just a warning to be quiet. But overall one of the best experiences I had as a beach hotel.
What I liked about this hotel was the warmth of all staff who worked there. It is a hotel that is not over the top with the fancy decor, but instead its a lovely hotel that is situated right on the beach and concentrates on its customer service and on making the holiday experience as lovely as possible. There is a lot of warmth in the hotel and we felt that we were at home for the entire 10 days we stayed there...
There is a lovely pianist who plays while you are eating breakfast, and soft music in the evening. The hotel is run in an efficient way, but as I said above, for me, it's about the warmth of the staff which is most important to me, and the location. Parking is easy and free, so you can hire a car and drive around. We also got a free upgrade to 2 rooms that overlooked the sea. It was a very nice surprise. We would definitely return to the Pastana.
Overall a good holiday, but would have expected a bit higher std of service especially around upgrade to late checkout, and very disappointed with room, given it was located straight into the air condition plant for spa and pool, and noise we had to experience day and night from this machinery. This would not be what you’d expect for an alleged 4 star hotel.
After booking we were sent a mail immediately by hotel, offering extras and upgrades...
One of these was ability to purchase late check out, which we did, and booked our return flight accordingly based on late checkout. However a day later we receive an email that tells us hotel won’t and can’t confirm late checkout until morning of departure. Why wasn’t this clearly stated in original email offering the extra . We enquired at reception the evening prior to checkout and they still would not inform us if we could have late checkout… we were told we’d have to wait till morning. We enquired at 6am the morning of checkout and we’re then told.. no we couldn’t and had to checkout at 11am. We have stayed at numerous 4& 5 star hotels in Europe and availed of late checkout at time of booking, never have we had to wait till morning of checkout As result of this we had to wait without a room all day until our evening flight back, which we would not have booked if the hotel had clearly stated in original offer sent that checkout couldn’t be confirmed until morning of checkout. It seems to me hotel wants to have best of both, by allowing late checkout if quiet but not if busy… not exactly a way to treat guests who have already booked
I would also suggest reception staff are trained to ask guests on checkout , questions like, how was your stay, was everything ok etc. After queueing for 25 mins to checkout ( why doesn’t hotel given Covid issues have auto checkout available in their app) we were handed our bill asked to check it, and that was it.
