Top Floor Views
An excellent hotel with facilities to match Views from the 16th floor to die for. Plenty of sun beds available not matter what time if the day you go. Everywhere is spotless and staff are so friendly particularly the animation team who go over and beyond to make your stay special. Restaurant food good more so on the lunch serving than the evening meal Definitely recommend this hotel

Maybe a Portuguese 5* but not an English 5*
Location a little remote .Hotel clean service excellent. Paid extra for an up grade wasn't worth it as got the same room that other guests hadn't paid to upgrade .Thought we'd get the 360 panoramic view of a sea view and not a little corner should of queried it .....Need a pull out dryer on balcony if not allowed to hang towels over balcony glass ( trying to help environment by not changing towels ) I expect for any 5* in the world to have pillow protectors and mattress protectors...Pillows covered in dribble stains 🤢Was ok but wouldn't return .Agree with other reviews food average .

Great hotel, only problem was the lack of Umbrellas.
Pestana Blue is a family hotel, lots of children, however, plenty of places for adults to sit and enjoy a drink. Check in was easy, Barbara at the front deskwas very helpful. The hotel arranged for us all to be together which was wonderful. The food was good, something for everyone, Dinis at the buffet area was a great help. You can book two restaurants other than the buffet. Make sure to do it when you arrive as they will be booked out. Say hello to the wonderful Vlid, (I Think) in the Italian. The rooms were spotless clean as well as the whole hotel. Two minutes’ walk to a wonderful beach. Make sure you go left down at the beach to smaller beaches and a great restaurant with stunning views ,Sol& Sombra, going right will bring you to Alvor and the lovely fishing port. Great restaurant on the port A Ribeira, fab fish, Andrea the owner organized a great birthday night for us. So the only negative thing I have to say about the hotel is the umbrellas. We would not go back based on the fact that the Adult Pool (very cold) had no umbrellas. They can say it’s the grass area and they don’t put up umbrellas but not good enough for a 5 star. The beds at the main pool (very cold) had only a few umbrellas that actually flew into the pool with the wind as they were not in any heavy duty anchors. I have never been in a 5 star hotel that did not have big strong umbrellas, even on the grass area. It was 37degrees so we could not sit out unless we went to the beach and got the beds with cover. The Balinese beds at the hotel in the adult section were 35euro a day. If the umbrella situation changes we will be back.
