- Carvoeiro Hotel

The hotel is located near the Carvoeiro town, but far from the busy centre, in a calm environment; the hotel is close to the famous nearby beaches. The hotel has a spacious garden. It is centrally located close to the main tourist attractions. It is 1.2 kilometres to the sea, the beach, a plethora of shops, restaurants, bars, pubs, nightclubs and public transportation.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The hotel was clean, very spacious bedrooms and quiet which was a bonus. The area is lovely loads to do for the kids and adults. The bad things we experienced were - Aircon didn't work, we asked every day at reception but it never came on regardless how much we mentioned it. Showers - water only stayed hot for 3-5 minutes then was cold. My sister stayed over in a different room and she experienced the same issue. 2 plugs didn't work Including the one in the kitchen so we had to boil the kettle in the bedroom. Couldn't turn the tap hot or cold as it wasn't attached properly. The holiday was amazing apart from these parts, and there's a big hill to get to the town. We didn't think it would be a massive issue, but towards the end of the week we got taxis as the children hated the hill.
We stayed at this hotel for four nights, expecting a four-star experience as advertised, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment from the moment we arrived.
The condition of the hotel was far below what we anticipated. The windows were rotten, the furniture was ripped and worn, and the bed in our room was broken — so much so that I had to request a room change at 10pm, which was incredibly inconvenient. The pool area was also dirty and clearly not well maintained.
We were so unhappy that we tried to check out on the second day, but were only offered a refund for one night, leaving us feeling stuck for the remainder of our stay.
Overall, I feel this hotel is falsely advertised as a four-star property. In reality, I would rate it closer to a two-star at best. I would not recommend staying here.
Good location. I think that’s the positive out of the way. Room on ground floor overlooked the car park (not particularly bothered). The whole place is tired and in dire need of a refresh - paint chipping off walls and doors etc. There is a safe in the room but you have to rent it for a daily charge!!! This is the first time I’ve had to pay extra for a safe. The pool is a good size but more than half of it is very shallow so that leaves very little space to do a proper swim where your feet don’t touch the bottom. Garden area is fine. Not enough sun loungers for the rooms in busy season. Breakfast - if you’re vegan then you have little choice. There is a mini kitchen in my room and the fridge makes an awful cyclical noise that kept waking me up and the worst of all is the mattress - rock solid and gave me a back ache. I will not stay here again, nor recommend it. I hope my comments are helpful.
From some previous reviews i was quite nervous about staying here. I needn't have worried! Pool and gardens were beautiful and clean. We had a wonderful stay here. Great food with great variety. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Decor in hotel was a bit tired in places but this did not affect our holiday at all. Rooms cleaned every day, rooms spacious with wee kitchen area and great air conditioning! The hotel had a quirky, homely and welcoming vibe that we loved.
Nice Hotel, lovely spacious room, nice food, lovely pool and garden. Helpful staff. Lovely midday snacks, nice cocktails.
