Great, relaxing stay

Review by Magdalena P

We had a lovely stay at the resort. Because it was our wedding anniversary, we have received a complimentary treat, which was a lovely surprise. The resort is well maintained and very clean...

There is number of activities available, as well as BBQ, which is highly recommended! The staff is very professional and friendly and made our stay an unforgettable experience.

Peaceful retreat

Review by kathrynmathie

Beautiful well run hotel. Very clean and well presented. Enjoyed a relaxing stay...

Must book activities to enjoy all the facilities. So plan your stay. Could provide more vegetarian and vegan options. Google maps took us to the neighbouring golf course, this should be sorted out for smooth arrivals.

Amazing experience

Review by BeatrizSilvestre98

I stayed in this hotel from mids of August until the end. It was a wonderful experience, the staff is amazing!! The restaurant was incredible, the waitresses were very polite, everyday, as well as the staff from the pool bar and inside and outside pools. They have strict rules that I agree, don't save a chair with a towel, that kind of behavior is not nice at all, the first aids made an amazing job, they were very worried in cleaning the pool area and helping the costumers, one time the pool was full and when there was chairs available the staff from first aids told me and helped me with my stuff, very nice people here, I went with my little sister and brother, the kids Club was lovely, the lady is very nice and great with the children, I did saw one comment before me about the activities and I have to say that is understandable that for an activity that needs more than one child it's not possible to happen and they have everything written on the door and that's obvious, if there's not enough kids or if they don't want to participate the activity won't happen, I understand that and it's fair, what matters is that the children were always happy and I thank them for that. Whenever something is wrong all the staff and general worries about compensate the costumer and that's a lovely and polite gesture. The cleaning team does show a need of more people, I do see them "running" to get everything done and they do a great job Thank you for everything.

Overall average 3 start hotel and poor service

Review by 214darinam Dubai, United Arab Emirates

We stayed in this hotel for two weeks from 14th to 28th August as family with a 2 year old and 5 year old. We paid EUR250 per night totalling roughly EUR3,500 for the two weeks including breakfast in a 1 bedroom apartment. The stay was average but what is really apparent is the awful service...

A few call outs for the next person thinking of booking this hotel. The breakfast buffet is fine but the coffee is from a machine and tastes pretty synthetic (fresh coffee would have made life a lot better!). There is very limited choice at the buffet and no freshly made produce. Staff are disengaged from it all. The pool area is nice but never cleaned throughout the day which meant a build up of left over food and used drink glasses over time along with grime. The tile area in the public parts was filthy and sticky. The kids club- our sons went a few times but generally activities were cancelled every day and the main activity was colouring. The employee in the children's club is generally not interested in children and spent her time reading books and on her phone. The tile area overall in the hotel needs a good brush and power wash. The pool area is unmanned and the towel assistant spent his day in a room on his computer. I complained to the general manager Eduardo about the children's club during the stay. No result of that compliant. Then another day I had left towels at the pool and went up to get our pool bag (I am expecting and so trying to manage the kids and the towels and pool bags and needing to sit in the shade as I couldn't take the heat) meant a juggle. When I returned the towels were removed as we were over 15 minutes away from the towels- this was despite the fact there were all un occupied towels around the pool. It was 9.45 am so as normal we were the first to arrive. I complained again to the general manager and got given 2 old sun chairs in the blatant sun. Eduardo Peregrino the general manager didn't really seem to care about much. On our last day the children's pool was closed for sanitary purposes ( I think a young child was unwell in the pool). I asked the manager about this and was told not to worry "it would be open tomorrow'. There isn't any pool service per se- you order at the bar and ask for it to be dropped to you- most people were collecting it and dropping back their empties. There is a small children's activity slide that should be expanded- it's basic and just for show really. There is a smell of sewerage/ gas at the children's area. My 5 year old wanted to play snooker and I was concerned about the fumes he was inhaling. You have to book the indoor pool- every time we tried to book there were very little slots despite the fact the pool was empty. On leaving the hotel I complained at the desk about these things and I got an email from Andre Figuerinha saying that they'd give us 15% off our next stay! We don't be going back nevertheless. It's hardly service for the cost of it. This hotel is struggling in a post covid era- staff don't want to be there- and for the cost of it travellers deserve a bit of engagement. The location is lovely up in the hills between Carveiro and Silves and remote and safe. We ate out every night as the menu in Jasmin is average (the menu is american themed but fine for families). There are lovely resturants nearby - Dos Santos, Luisa's, Silves (Cafe Ingles). We visited Monchique and Lagos etc aswell. A car is almost a must with this resort so you can add on the cost of car. hire which was 1K for us. We played tennis one morning which was an additional EUR15 for the hour plus tennis racket hire of EUR3
