Rochavau Hotel

A beautiful hotel that provided the most amazing experience. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming, the rooms were clean and well maintained. The breakfast was delicious. The hotel is right by the beach and within walking distance of the beautiful Portimão. They provided an itinerary during check-in, and it took us to the most amazing places that we would not have found! Highly recommend!

Perfect location for me and the wife as we don’t want to be in the middle of the busy areas when on holiday. The hotel was only 10 minutes walk from the main area and beaches and only a few minutes walk to a couple of cliff top bars. They were also very good bars and restaurants literally next door on either side of the hotel with other restaurants higher up the same road, again only a few minutes walk. The atmosphere was good but a little quiet as apparently the season had not yet got going. The room was great although a little small and the placing of the mirror could have been better as the bed obstructed you standing in front of it. It was cleaned daily to a very high standard. The balcony is tiny so no chance of stretching out and sunbathing if that’s your thing but the noise level in the room is ok with the balcony door shut. The amenities are great with a selection of hot and cold food for breakfast, a nice size pool with loungers either end and a bar/restaurant alongside the pool. The room has a coffee maker and fridge with the water, coffees etc topped up daily. The staff were very helpful with suggestions on where to shop or to visit and also provide an excellent service where they book you a Bolt (Uber) to wherever you want to go. Once you are ready to return a what’s app message to reception gets your Bolt organised within minutes simply needing a pin to show where you are. The costs are then charged to your room which saves a bit of messing about.

We would highly recommend the hotel as its location is perfect if you want to stay close to the main area but a bit more peaceful, the staff are great and the hotel itself is of a very high standard.

The staff were all great but a big shout out Agnes in the bar, extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about drinks, food and where to visit.

From the moment we arrived at this hotel we knew it was special. We travelled around the Algarve for 4 weeks and explored this beautiful region, along the way we stayed at 16 different hotels. The Rochavau stood out! Firstly the staff are incredible, from the amazing reception team especially the calm and efficient Harley to the cleaning staff and the highly skilled cocktail makers each one is friendly knowledgeable and really good at their job. Having a harmonious team like this comes from great management so well done to the management team also! The vibe of this place is laid back Luxury, incredible value for such a high end place, small and personal with clientele that were mainly couples and family groups. So close to a beautiful stretch of coast with access to the beach, local bars and restaurants that were recommended by the hotel were great and brilliant value for money. Rooms are immaculate and stylish, we had our own terrace on the ground floor which was a bonus. The rooms on the ground floor are accessible and easy to access from the underground car park. Location is quite a distance from the centre of Portimao but the area has everything you could want and offers a laid back feeling. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, many the ingredients used are Artisan and home made, as a cook myself I recognise quality food. Thanks for a lovely stay we are booking for a longer stay soon.
