Stayed this hotel for one week in June 2026. Arrived early and was told our room wasn't ready but the receptionist said she would change our room to allow us to check in and go straight for lunch which was just starting. My friend and I had a one bedroom apartment on the 10th floor with a sea view. It was clean and well equipped, with every kitchen utensil and small appliance you would need. We were all-inclusive and didn't use much more than the fridge freezer and kettle, but ideal for self catering. The decor could be regarded as dated but remember you are in another country with different style and tastes. And everything was spotlessly clean which the most important thing to consider. Maid services every day, rooms cleaned and clean towels. Beds even changed after 4 days. Which is rare in a 3 star accommodation. Staff were always polite and helpful. And extremely cheerful considering the long hours they seem to work. Restaurant always had several choices for each meal of the day, several fish dishes, but you are in portugal. As well as meat and vegetarian choices, also small children's area to choose from. If you only want British food, this may not be the place for you, 2 nights a week there is an outside cooking station serving barbecue foods and one night a week is a Portuguese night, offering traditional dishes, including some beautiful Pastel de nata! Which were a huge hit with everyone. The hotel has two outdoor pools. Plenty loungers and umbrellas although these are fixed into the ground and can't be moved with the sun. The pool bar serves snacks mid morning and afternoon when the main restaurant is closed. But it does seem to be the same staff on at all the bars/restaurants all day, going between each one. They work extremely long days. The bar in the restaurant only had a few high tables with stools, which wouldn't suit everyone, another lounge area would be a nice addition for the future. Not everyone wants to walk back to the pool bar after dinner, to sit outside. There is a mini market under the hotel opposite and a larger supermarket up the bill towards the beach, which is within two mins walking distance. The hotel has a bus stop right outside to the right which would take you to the Marina or Aqua shopping centre number 35 for €1-85 each way. The Aqua shopping centre has 3 levels of shops and a good court. Lovely day out for shopaholics like myself. A short walk up the hill to the beach takes you onto the main strip, with bars, restaurants and shops. There in also a small blue train which costs €5 to take you around the resort, which allows you to see most of the highlights of the area, including the harbour, marina, museum and an old fortress Temperature for June was 25°-30° everyday. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the streets and thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I would definitely return and would recommend you give this excellent 3 star hotel a try.
Good points Location to beach was good Beds was comfortable
Bad points Where do I start There was 4 in our party so we had 2 apartments and they was both the same!! Very dated my husband had to mend a chair to start with table was all blistered wall above table was all marked …. Kitchen had mould in it and stains on the walls… every lampshade was ripped ( this is both apartments still) Bathrooms Mould everywhere floor flooded when I had shower or bath absolutely disgusting Food We was all inclusive Food was COLD and tasteless repetitive every single day whatever time u went down to eat if it was as soon as the doors was opened always the same no variety and always cold … we went down the very last day at 7.30 am as the doors opened and the fried eggs was cold hard and dry . We think the food was cooked elsewhere and brought in !! Had a BBQ one evening so we went down hoping the food was going to be hot and freshly cooked NO same old story COLD !!! It wasn’t cooked on a bbq it came out of the kitchen and places outside !!! We was there for 10 nights after the forth night we decided to eat out in the Evenings ( yes we had pay more money out ) Snack Bar Guess what you could only get burgers or hotdogs between 3.30 &5.30 pm and they was COLD you could get ice creams 2 hours in the afternoon they where COLD 😂 No entertainment Gym …. Pay extra to use it Indoor pool …. Pay extra to use it STAFF VERY RUDE
BIGGEST CATFISH we stayed in. We watched the YOUTUBE video of the hotel was looking forward to staying here for a few days and then when we arrived we found out it was totally not what we expected. We were allowed into our room one hour early. When we got into the hotel room we were greeted by the smell of bleach mixed with sewage. Amd the room was like a time capsule it was so outdated and looked like it had not been updated in 20years(better 2 star hotels in blackpool) the bed was so small the furniture was old amd very tired the bath had mould all around the edges and a massive rust mark on the base of the bath the sink area was badly stained the paint was all old and worn out i do have images of this if needed. We went down to get lunch and found a very small area where the food was (again photos if needed) The selection was so minimal and no variety never have i seen a all-inclusive with such little choice and next to nothing for children so glad we did not take our children with us. we put a few items on our plate to find it was all cold and either salty or tasteless. Demoralised and still hungry we went upto our room.to change so we could relax at the pool when we got back to our room we was greeted with a very strong smell of sewage the bleach smell had gone we opened the windows and door and left to go to the pool. The pool side is relatively nice amd has sun all day but thats all that is pleasant about it the small shallow pool was full of dead bugs and not cleaned during our stay. The snack bar only served ice cream from 3.30pm until 5.30 we went to get a hot snack and the options were hotdogs or burger but even though we were there at 3.30 the food was stone cold this should not be the case at all. This was the same everyday the music was on loop all the time and never played a different playlist. When dinner time came around 7.pm we went for dinner and it again was cold food and very minimal choice that was salty or tasteless (the breakfast was exactly the same) after this we went back to our room and I got in touch with jet2 on whats app I was called the following morning. We spoke about my options I said I wanted to move hotels but this could not happen because it would take 48hours to find something new. I was offered a different room and told the manager would be informed the food is not hot or upto standard I met the manager that day at 2pm she showed me another room this room had been decorated and was more modern but upon entering only had a slight smell of sewage so accepted the room. When I took my partner upto the room the smell was worse than the other room but by this point I did not want to keep moaning but I later noticed that the flooring in bathroom was flooded underneath and seeping through the seems even on the outside of the room. I mentioned this to the staff on front of house before we went out for a meal because we could not eat the dinner two days running we wanted a nice proper hot meal we ate out for at least one meal everyday so that we had a proper meal ( we should not of had to do that in an all inclusive package €150 it cost us over 3 days to eat out. The bed was really hard and my wife had to sleep on the sofa bed because of this my wife is disabled with fibromyagia and struggles alot . When I spoke the rep for a second time I mentioned he should go to my room and see floor for him self and the smell I believe he did this. Also at night time you have no where really to relax as they close the pool area from 7.30 and only have the cafe area open with high seated stools and not entertainment whatbso ever you are literally forced to have to go out amd spend money at a bar for entertainment i am so annoyed that I have spent £900 of my money on such a shambles of a holiday Portugal is such a nice place but my memories of this holiday are of the really poor hotel not the experience of being in Portugal. I was on tbe phone with **** most of the time even though my complaints were raised to hotel they did nothing to change this i think I have covered most things Regards steve
We had a very pleasant stay last week at Club Amarillis, there were 14 of us celebrating two milestone birthdays. We were All Inclusive, the food was very repetitive but not too bad. The hotel, swimming pool and surrounding areas were very clean, it is a very nice swimming pool and pool bar, the only downside was if you are in a wheelchair or mobility scooter you cannot access the pool, as the gate was locked most of the time, you need to use the ramps to get to the pool bar and then there are steps to walk down. We were in room 515 the living/dining area was really big, the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom were not bad either. I asked at reception if someone could show us how to pull out the sofa bed, much better than that a gentleman brought us a single divan up on a trolley! Our cleaner reported that one of the legs on a table needed repairing and one of the lights in the bathroom wasn’t working, we never even thought about reporting them, that is what I call good customer care!
Where do i start we arrived for Easter break my family and I the weather wasn't to bad but when it rained the hotel would not open a indoor bar for us to sit in we were all out at the pool bar cold and wet even for a cup of coffee walk and slip through the rain to get one. We then decided to go and pay for the indoor pool but then told it was 10 euro each for two hours the 5.50 euro for a hair cap even tho we had short hair so never did. My husband loves a gym he paid 35 euros for five sessions the gym is open to the public so people coming and going from morning til night. The hotel only had a little few seats to sit at where the front doors are. The hotel is not like a normal all inclusive hotel it is part residential people live in this hotel with there pets was weird seeing them coming out the lift and walking around the hotel. The food was actually good part of the hotel drinks nice aswell if you could find a seat after dinner to have one. We were sitting playing cards by the bar on the night time and my daughter had crisps and the bar man said put them away you can't eat them in here we did put them away but I did ask is there crisps to buy he said no and walked away. We spend most of our night out at the bars on the strip after that. The room was big where we slept if your going with kids I would ask to be moved wish we did the noise outside was so bad kept wakeing us up we were on the first floor above the entrance.
