The beautiful beaches of Praia da Rocha and Praia do Vau and the centre of Portimão, the largest town on the West Algarve, with its restaurants, bars and shopping facilities are within easy reach. Several golf courses are just a short drive away.

Lovely hotel with good amenities close by.
We stayed at the hotel on half board in a suite. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel bedroom was lovely and quiet and they are cleaned every day and the bed was comfortable. The Breakfast menu was fried breakfast, cold meats cheeses, pain de chocolate and some cereal and yogurts with some local delicacies. Evening meal has about 5 main choices, always fish but beware there a lot of bones in them and local dishes. Cheeses, cold meats and salads. Food was ok but for the fussy eater not much choice. There is a bus stop outside of the hotel that can take you to the centre of Portimao, no.35 and costs €2 each and taxi was just over €6. From there you can travel afield. The pool area has 14 pairs of sun beds under thatched umbrellas and a few more without. The area can be busy late afternoon. The beaches near the hotel are lovely with golden sand and you can hire 2 sun beds and parasol for €17 a day. Lots of restaurants around, spoilt for Choice.
Overall the trip was really great and would come back to Portimao again.

This place is SCAMMY and leaves a poor first impression. Do NOT book a FRONTAL seaview room here as they will try to pawn off a SIDE view as a front view, yet still charge you the premium price. They are not booked up, yet for some reason wouldn't give us the FRONT view that we PAID FOR. They didn't discount our price down to account for the downgrade. I guess they hoped we wouldn't notice but it just makes them come across as dirty scammers. We specifically booked this hotel FOR the FRONT seaview and are disappointed with the rooms and the service. We are repeat guests at places that treat us respectfully, but it's doubtful I would come back or recommend this hotel. They had every opportunity to make it right and fix it.

Second Visit
Second time staying here, and really enjoyed the hotel. It is spotlessly clean, well maintained and in a really good, quiet location. It is very quiet at night so had a week of undisturbed sleep. Had a smaller room this year, but still plenty of space for the week.
The main pool is small, but quiet with good sun beds and regular bar service. The gym is small, but good equipment, plenty dumb bells, rack, smiths machine and ergs. We only ate breakfast there.
Our only issue was the long queues at breakfast for one of the two coffee machines, the queues were up to 8 or 9 people long at times. Breakfast was so busy until about 8.15am, we waited until then, but often some breakfast items were all gone.
Reception staff were great, notably Hugo who was always so professional and helpful on the 2 occassions we contacted reception.
We didnt use the minibar, in our opinion it was not needed and very expensive.

I was quite disappointed with the quality of the food served. I expected a pleasant experience consistent with the advertised level of service, but unfortunately the food offering fell far short of expectations. The meals showed little variety, lack of freshness and, on several occasions, a lack of care in preparation and presentation. Some dishes were cold, tasteless and without adequate replenishment, even during normal service hours. In addition, I noticed little attention to the needs and satisfaction of guests regarding food. I consider the quality of food to be an essential element of a stay and, in this case, it ended up negatively affecting the overall experience. I sincerely hope that this comment will be taken into consideration and that future improvements can be made to the catering service.
Clean hotel.
The hotel is clean. The dinner buffet does not offer much variety with limited hot choices. Soups were generally good. Salad bar was virtually the same every night. After 10 says you get tired of the same food.
The hostess and wait staff are great.
Check-in was easy especially since we were a tour group of 28 people.
Location is a bit remote. Its a good walk to get to shops and restaurants. No nearby super market or restaurants. You gave to walk 10 - 15 minutes to shops and restaurants.
Hotel bar is open from 10 am onwards. They have an activity coordinator who has afternoon activities planned.
Nice pool but not enough lounge chairs.
