Just returned from a 3 night stay. We visited this hotel about 20 years ago and it feels like the decor hasn’t been updated since then, the rooms and common areas are really in need of a revamp. Our room was spacious, but lacked sockets, there were no tea/coffee facilities, the towels were really thin and scratchy, the air con was really ineffective ……even on full pelt we woke up boiling hot!!!The staff on the whole were helpful…..breakfast was a bit of a bun fight…..one guy on his own at the egg station so had to queue for approx 20 mins for an omelette, not his fault and I really felt for him but not what you really expect from a five * ……… the setting is beautiful and the gardens are well maintained , however the aircraft noise was a real problem for us, ….in my opinion this is a 4* hotel and way overpriced for what you get…..we will not be returning.
We usually come here once or twice a year and it is lovely to be back! As always this hotel is a special treat in a beautiful position with very comfortable rooms, outstanding staff/ service and delicious food. The perfect place to switch off and relax.
It is not cheap but worth evey peny. The views to Ria Formosa and Quinta do Lago Beach are breathtaking, the bedrooms are very confortable, the staff is very nice but descreet. It is next to San Lorenzo Court, witch is one of the most wealcome golf court in the world
Great disapointment! Pictures were already doubtful but being a Leading Hotel we opted for it. The hotel was once probably a great one and beautifully located. But the orientation is mediocre and the "partial" views are blind...
The decoration is totally out of fashion. Even the towels seem the original ones: thin and hard as if they had been washed 10000 times. Finally, our room had already been arranged when we came back from a long lunch at 6pm...can they keep the personnel a bit more until a decent dinner time?
We booked the Ria Park via last minute.com only to find it shut on arrival. There was one person working and we were told we had been reallocated to this hotel. Not sure whose at fault here, hotel or the agent...
Off we went to this hotel wondering what we would find. We were delighted to have stayed here. Lovely pool area with amazing views, delicious breakfast again with amazing pools, fantastic golden sand beach and amazing staff. The hotel has sun-beds, towels and bottles of water on the beach for guests all included in your stay. We stumbled across this.
The decor throughout the hotel is very grand. The rooms are a little tired but are spacious with good sized beds. We don’t spend much time in the room anyway.
The gym is well equipped and you need to book it as it’s only one guest/family allowed in it at any one time.
You access the beach via a bridge over the estuary.
The hotel and surrounding restaurants are very expensive. Bovino steakhouse was amazing. We stumbled across a restaurant (O’rios, something like that) that was a fraction of the price with amazing seafood! From the beach, we walked approx 30-40 minutes(left, with your back to hotel. Towards airport) and there were some restaurants over there.
There is a little beach bar just off the bridge and they serve amazing pina colada’s and good baguettes for a light/cheaper lunch. We tried to eat at Gigi’s at the end of the bridge but staff were rude and it was hectic and noisy.
We had dinner twice at the hotel. Food and service both excellent. They have a kids menu.
Brilliant stay and would highly recommend.
