Whether you’re here for long, lazy pool days or early tee times, As Cascatas gives you the space – and the style – to do it your way.
Set among landscaped gardens and surrounded by top-tier golf courses, this elegant resort is just minutes from Vilamoura Marina and the Algarve’s golden beaches. It’s peaceful, spacious, and perfect for both relaxation and adventure.
Suites are bright and generous, ranging from one to four bedrooms, with fully equipped kitchens, open-plan living spaces, and private terraces — some with whirlpool baths. They’re ideal for families, couples or groups looking for extra comfort and freedom. There’s air-conditioning throughout, free Wi-Fi, and satellite TV.
The Seven Spa is one of Portugal’s largest, with hydrotherapy pools, saunas, Jacuzzis and treatment rooms. Outside, a choice of pools — including a fun children’s area — offer plenty of space to swim, unwind or sunbathe.
Dining is varied and relaxed, with six restaurants and bars serving Portuguese and international favourites. There’s also a kids’ club, games room, and babysitting service — everything you need for a stress-free family holiday.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Staying in as cascatas at the moment this is our 5th time staying here and it will be our last, we used to love this place but I’m sorry this is not worthy of a 5 star. The main concern being the apartments they are extremely uncomfortable the beds are so noisy and springs sticking out of mattresses making it very difficult to sleep and we are all experiencing bad backs from “trying” to sleep in these beds. There is mould in bathroom and kitchen. We are in a ground floor apartment which is in complete darkness all day does not get any sunlight at all and it is overlooked people walking by bedrooms & sitting room windows. And the amount of mosquitoes in the apartment is shocking I’ve never seen this before we are being eaten alive. We did ask reception if we could move as we were not happy with the apartment and they were willing to move us to a different apartment on the same floor we checked it out but is was basically the same the beds were as uncomfortable and again ground floor completely over looked and no sunlight. The bar food and drinks are a complete rip off. We are extremely disappointed with this accommodation and will be going home needing another break to catch up on our sleepless nights we are having here.
We stayed at Hilton Vilamoura last September, choosing the As Cascatas apartments, and overall had a really lovely family holiday.
The As Cascatas apartments were absolutely fantastic for us, especially travelling with our young son. Having a separate sleeping area made such a difference, giving us space to properly relax in the evenings. The apartments are located within the Hilton resort complex, so you get the best of both worlds – the space and comfort of an apartment with full access to all the hotel facilities, including the pools, playground, gym, games room and spa.
A very special mention to Maria in the hotel restaurant, who was truly exceptional. The hotel is incredibly fortunate to have someone of her calibre on their team. She couldn’t have done more for us during our week-long stay and made every dining experience feel warm and personal.
There were, however, a few downsides worth noting. The main pool is not heated at all, which we were told is standard in Portugal, but it did make swimming less enjoyable at times. The games room was also frustrating to access – despite being told our key would work, it didn’t, and we had to ask staff for assistance multiple times. We also ended up losing money on a few machines that weren’t working properly.
The biggest drawback was the poolside snack bar, which is significantly overpriced. For example, a pizza costing €23 felt excessive, and it was noticeable that very few guests were eating there. Given the hotel’s location, you are somewhat reliant on on-site options, so more reasonable pricing would make a big difference and likely encourage far more guests to dine there.
That said, a great tip is to head out the back gate of the hotel and visit Café del Arte – the food there is fantastic, better quality, and at nearly half the price.
Overall, despite a few frustrations, we had a very enjoyable stay. The apartment setup, facilities, and standout staff like Maria made it a memorable and comfortable family holiday.
It is a pity to right this review however it has to be done. This is our 14th year staying in As Cascatas and is our last. The apartments have become completely run down. The shower pressure is non existent which we reported yet nothing was done. It was shocking that even so the water was completely gone for 5 days consecutive days, they rang to check it was it back but never an apology or any further check up. Also there was no shelf in the shower for shampoo etc, tiles were also broken and the shower drain cover was gone. The water being gone was absolutely ridiculous for a 5 star resort.
In the bedroom the bedside locker was broken with the marble piece coming off the top. The beds themselves were hard and the sheets were not white anymore (completely old looking). The couch had a huge stain on it and the carpet in the sitting room was stained. There was mold on the wall in the kitchen at the back door. I never usually leave reviews however I don’t understand how this place is a 5 star. The cleaning situation was completely hit or miss. If the cleaners did show up they were arriving at 5:30 in the day which is not ideal with a family. Some days they actually didn’t show up to the apartment. As a five star resort the bed sheets were not changed once. The front desk were not helpful at-all. The reception desk staff were unprofessional, we actually had an incident with one who was quite rude to one of us. After coming here for so many years it was genuinely so disappointing to see it gone so downhill. To be honest, charging five star prices for a service that is definitely not 5 star standard anymore is frustrating and we won’t be returning. I hope the hotel takes these reviews into account as we used to love coming to As Cascatas. Unfortunately we will not be returning as we feel for the price you pay you do not get the 5 star experience.
The Hilton part of the hotel seems to be much more modernized and has great facilities yet As Cascatas is way behind.
This is our fourth visit here, but it is sad to see the whole place has become very run down. Shower pressure non existent, no shelves in shower for gel/shampoo etc, broken tiles on the floor, and a general feeling of being very uncared for.
Having lived in Portugal for many years, I am very aware of Portuguese culture and speak the language. However, the attitude of the front desk staff for the apartments is very miserable. To them the customer is a nuisance.
This will be our last visit, and I am disappointed that even after making a complaint, no one got back to us because they couldn't care less.
Lovely greeting on arrival very informative on the apartment and amenities. Booked a 2 bedroom apartment which was very spacious, clean with good facilities. Very relaxing round the pool, comfortable sun beds which were plentiful and towels provided. Facilities available for use at the hotel but only used the gym which was very well equipped. Can’t comment on the food as we ate on the marina every night. Shuttle bus available but only took 8 passengers and 10min round trip, if you were unfortunate as we were a few times and had to wait 30min so decided uber was the best option as only 4 euro a trip. All the staff are wonderful and a credit to Hilton. Will definitely book again if looking for accommodation in Vilamoura and I highly recommend the apartments.
