I have been staying in Pinhal da Marina with my family for many years now and highly recommend it! Its relaxed atmosphere, beautiful gardens, nice and attentive staff, and children friendly environment make it the ideal base for family holidays in the Algarve. Close to Vilamoura, a number of great beaches and other holiday attractions, but far from some of the bustle of the Algarve in the summer months, it allows you to enjoy the best of what the Algarve as to offer.
We arrived late in the evening and check in was prompt. The end room overlooking the tennis court was lovely and quiet. Large balcony used for breakfast with 2 sun loungers (very shaded on this balcony)...
The staff were fantastic from reception to waiters to cleaners. My room was very clean and more than adequate for what we used it for. The spar is close by for s/c and its a short walk to the marina which is magnificent. Myself and my daughter loved it so much we booked it again. Hopefully see you July 2020 Pinhal, we can't wait
PROS - Every single request met quickly and satisfactorily. Outstanding customer service by reception. Freshly prepared meals in restaurant. Good choice and extensive foods to choose from. Restaurant staff welcoming, polite and accommodating re going 'off menu' Brilliant take away option from the restaurant when you just fancy eating in your apartment. Apartment cleaned to a high standard. Free WiFi in apartment which worked really well. Beautiful peaceful location only a 15 minute walk to the marina. Pool areas kept immaculately clean Free safe in apartment CONS - Very minor ! Wardrobes not long enough to hang long dresses / skirts.
Cannot recommend this place highly enough. My husband and I arrived 3 hours late ( at midnight ) after flight delay. The staff had set a beautiful table for us in our apartment with wine and stocked the fridge with food from the restaurant.
I can be quite demanding !!! But every request I made was fulfilled...
I can honestly say I have no complaints about this resort and hoping to return in the near future.
Thank you Pinhal da Marina for this wonderfully relaxing experience.
Booked last minute after having our Thomas Cook holiday cancelled, and have to say we were very pleasantly surprised. Very helpful and friendly staff, apartments well equipped, like that there was 2 pools - one more aimed at families and groups and other one quieter which was great. Will def return again!
We stayed at Pinhal da Marina for four nights in February, and it was an excellent choice. Close enough to the Marina to walk there for evening meals, but also peaceful and self-contained.
We liked our two-bedroomed apartment (5201). It was clean and modern, with a lovely big main room, and excellent wifi (essential with a teenage daughter!)...
However the two shower-room/toilets were very small. Even drying oneself after a shower was a bit of a challenge!
As one or two other reports have mentioned, the kitchen seemed strangely lacking in some basic items. My wife and I love a glass of wine in the evening (don’t we all?!) and we were astonished that there were no wine glasses. I mentioned this at reception and was told that they would try and get us some, but nothing arrived during our stay. In the end we borrowed some from the on-site Pinmar restaurant, whose staff were really helpful. We were also surprised that there were no washing-up items (sponge and washing-up liquid) supplied, for cleaning sharp knives, cutting tray etc which were being used continually. Apparently guests are expected to buy or bring their own. There was a dishwasher, and a couple of dishwasher tablets were provided.
But these are minor complaints. Overall this seemed like a great place to stay. Good facilities, swimming pools (although unheated so not usable in February!) and a very nice on-site restaurant.
