Perfect holiday with my son. Even though this hotel does not have the amenities of a five star hotel, the staff and service were beyond 5 star expectations.Liliana at the reception was so helpful prior to my arrival on helping me pre book my COVID tests. On arrival she even upgraded us to a suite which my son loved and was excellent throughout our stay...
The restaurant manager and staff (Rui and Lucas) were so friendly and always went above and beyond to make us comfortable. We had a half board deal and the food spread was perfect and delicious meals every day. The spread wasn’t too large but it was perfect as I find it wasteful otherwise and people just wasting food all the time. I would recommend the surf and turf salad and the risotto at the restaurant. Meals were very affordable and so were the drinks. Marina and beach were close by with shuttles being provided and a kids club nearby which was free to use at the Hilton hotel. The rooms were very comfy spacious clean and had everything to make your stay comfortable. The staff made this a very memorable holiday so thank you again.
We had a fantastic stay at the Vilamoura Garden hotel. The staff were so lovely and inviting. Definitely boutique style and the rooms were a great standard...
Ritual amenities in the bathroom. Beds super comfy and very clean. Tea coffee in the room just milk was needed from downstairs if you like milk in either tea or coffee. A fridge was in the room ( empty) but ideal for stocking water and snacks of your choice. Room cleaned daily but with Covid that was your own personal choice.
We had half board and really impressed with the food. One night we choose not to have the set menu on half board and they allowed us change to something else. Cannot fault the food. Breakfast was limited/repetitive ( beans, croquettes, bacon and scrambled egg every morning) but nice! so we did not struggle to find something. Pastries were delish! Coffee and teas available, fresh juice and waters. Cannot really fault it, great value for money at the hotel.
The pool area is small, but nice, enough sun loungers I think for the size of the hotel. This is definitely a quieter and quainter hotel than your resort feel so if that’s what you want, this is not the hotel for you. Pool area very clean and bar inside for drinks and ice creams.
Convenient shuttle runs from the Hilton directly opposite the hotel into Vilamoura and it was so handy and free. The walk seemed a little too far to be honest - definitely 20 mins or more.
We used the shower facilities downstairs as we had a late flight and it was super handy. The reception kept hold of our luggage for the few hours free of charge.
We had a car and there was plenty of places to park free of charge.
Can definitely recommend this hotel for couples or groups and a nice relaxing stay. Definitely consider the half board or even dine in one evening, as the food was lovely and compliments to chef and staff. Thanks for a great stay!
For anyone looking to book this (especially through Teletext holidays), please don't - the hotel entrances are taped up and the hotel has been closed since March. We literally only realised when we pulled up in our taxi having been up since 5am. It was a terrible shock.
Furthermore, Teletext holidays were useless, they hung up on us and literally left us to fend for ourselves...
It's not the hotel's fault - they apparently told teletext that they couldn't honour the booking, but teletext didn't tell us.
Rated it terrible value - but only because we didn't get to stay there!
Super clean. Good covid measures. The staff without exception were friendly, helpful and polite...
Breakfast straight forward if a little limited, but nicely cooked and the lunch and dinner menus very limited, but lunch was well cooked and presented. Did not eat dinner here as there is so much choice elsewhere. Could not give the 4* rating as the property has not got grounds (to have the word garden in the name is not really appropriate as it does not have one!). The swimming pool is really small. If the hotel had been busy there would never have been enough loungers or places to sit outside. Very convenient for the Dom Pedro Pinhal golf course - just 200 yards away, as is the Hilton which has an hourly shuttle bus service to the beach and marina. Guests at the Vilamoura Garden use this service for free, very handy. This hotel also has use of the lovely spa facilities at the Hilton.It was a pleasant stay, but it did lack the little touches extra that would have made it a full 4*
Great little hotel. My family and I stayed here recently for a week. The Vilamoura Garden Hotel knows it’s customer for the price point...
The food and service in the restaurant is good, rooms clean and a good size. We had a relaxing enjoyable week at the Vilamoura Garden Hotel.
