Highly recommended and fantastic location

Review by andreabU9444CL Playa de las Americas, Spain

This is a superb hotel for the price and most of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, especially the reception team and Antonio on the main bar. The view from room 1103 was amazing and the room was very modern and well decorated. The room was cleaned and towels changed daily...

Hotel wifi was free and great connection throughout- very useful for completion of the passenger locator form! Breakfast was included and well varied with both continental and cooked breakfast items. And the snack bar menu was tasty and great value. No problem getting a sun bed at either of the outdoor pools, and pool towels are provided. Location is very convenient , close to the Lido and the bus stop to the old town as well as numerous bars snd restaurants on the doorstep. Also about 15 minute walk to forum Madeira! Lovely holiday at a fantastic and great value hotel. Highly recommended.

A great week at Mimosa

Review by sindylouDubai Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Our stay was very nice, room was very clean and the beds were really comfortable... the shower was heavenly, we enjoy our mornings on the balcony.

Breakfast was ok, very same same.....

no offering of any breakfast cereals... staff were extremely good, he only downside was the large amount of seagulls and pigeons swooping down and stealing anything of the table.

Considering the extra care and measures with Covid, found it very odd that the waiting staff used the same kitchen roll to clean the table and chair seats, found it quite unhygienic...

The hotel is on a steep hill so anyone with mobility issues will have difficulty getting up and down... taxis are that cheap but there is a bus that can take you down into the centre at €2.

Now for the most annoying problem that went on all week were the barking dogs that live locally... woke us up each morning, some mornings as early as 4am. Drive us insane as it was continual throughout our stay, Reception said there is nothing they can do... due to this issue I wouldn’t return to this hotel sadly and it was a lovely hotel for a 3*.

Good budget hotel

Review by AMCJE

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel The review is based on the fact the hotel is inexpensive We were on the 9th floor with fantastic views of Funchal The room was large with excellent self catering facilities a full bath with shower over Exceptionally clean with loads of really hot water Maid service was excellent The hotel is one of three with only breakfast available in the hotel (which was a bit odd) Breakfast was okay if not the most exciting Pool area was clean and all the staff were excellent The hotel is well positioned for the lido area and approximately 45 mins walk into Funchal To sum up, it’s a great base for exploring the island on a budget with the bonus of self catering option Would definitely return for a cheap break Thanks to all

Ok for a 3 star hotel

Review by HarryRoberts24 Leatherhead, United Kingdom

We booked this hotel via Tui. We arrived shortly after 1.30pm only to be told our rooms weren't ready. We were asked to return in an hour......

We scouted around looking for some lunch but all the local pubs and cafes appeared closed (it was a Monday). When we returned to the hotel we were given keys but found cleaners still in our rooms.... We had booked half board. Big mistake. We were told evening meals were served in a neighbouring Dorisol hotel which was up the hill... The evening meals were buffet but they were very bland. Not much choice for veggies. Drinks charged as extras. Breakfast was fine - served in our hotel. Though rather repetitive... Salt cellars rather scarce... No veggie sausages or hash browns. NO pancakes... But lots of excellent fresh fruit. Vg coffee.

Our rooms were vg. Excellent views. Brilliant power showers. Beds comfy. Quiet hotel - no noisey guests.

The outdoor pool was clean and well kept. But not heated in any way. Few guests dared brave the pool...

Reception staff very friendly and helpful.

Not bad for a 3 star hotel . But could address some of the points here...

So...not bad for a 3 star hote
