Loud nieghbourhood, rooms outdated and not sound proof, you hear everything from the lobby and outside. Tasty breakfeast. Dinner

Review by 285sebastianw La Spezia, Italy

Hotel had its prime long ago. All furniture and bathroom equipment looks outdated. Don't take rooms from the garden side, on the other side of the fence there are loudly barking dogs at night...

Unfortunately sloding doors to balcony are not sound proof. If you are located near alevator you should know that it stops with a loud bang. Otherwise nice terrain and views from hotel area. Tasty breakfeasts. Would not reccomend dinner though.

Comfortable hotel, catered for couples not families, not 4 stars

Review by Candy G London, United Kingdom

We stayed in a family room and a standard twin room but annoyingly they had separated us in the different parts of the hotel. The hotel is comfortable but with a slightly strange layout (having to travel up to the third floor from our room to go across to the reception)! The family room was large and well equipped. The location of the hotel isn't great in terms of local restaurants or shops but they do provide free shuttle buses into Funchal...

The views were amazing as you could look over Funchal though.

Breakfast was very good in terms of variety, from hot cooked breakfasts, cold meats, Pastries and bread, fruit and the pancakes which my daughter loved! The BBQ night was very good food but I was shocked at the price when we went to the restaurant one-night for drinks and some chips!

Overall comfortable, not the most family-friendly hotel but for couples it's very reasonable!

Worst Hotel ever Experienced

Review by ming24 Birmingham

Where do I start with this one the worst holiday / hotel experience I have ever had.

  1. ARRIVAL Just got off the plane got our luggage they said we need to leave our bags at the front of the airport and someone will pick them up and take them to the hotel even though we got on a big Tui coach which had lots of room for our luggage, got to the hotel the reception said they will bring it up to our room half hour later they were left outside in the boiling sun nobody had informed us that they were there...

It should have been the same coming back but we insisted that they go on the coach. 2. ROOMS Our 1st room we got was dirty and horrible and no 3rd bed so they moved us to another room which was a bit better fairly clean but still a lot of dust I wrote my name on the toilet roll holder in the dust and it was there all week and probably still there now. 3. FOOD Breakfast standard they will make your eggs how you want or omelette you had beans cereal or cold buffet e.g ham salami cheese salad etc - ok so for Dinner nothing was catered for children we had to ask every night for something to be cooked for him as for Adults the food was awful I am so upset we went 1/2 board it was just a waste of money. 4. DRINKS ok so your drinks are not including in your dinner so if you are going there don’t buy any drinks as they are 3 time more expensive that what you would get in a bar or supermarket we brought a bottle local Fanta called Brisa which is normal €1 and it states it on the bottle but they charge €2.60 per bottle but in the room in the mini fridge it’s €1.80 a bottle of water in the restaurant is €3.40 in the shops €0.84c it is a total rip off and you can’t bring your own drinks into the restaurant 5. POOL so there is outdoor pool and indoor pool - outdoor pool is absolutely freezing even the the hot sun it’s not a pleasure to go in there a cool off it’s too cold - Indoor pool lovely and warm but there is private swimming lessons happening with local residents so you can’t splash or have fun 6. TENNIS same as above private lessons so you don’t standard a chance to book at €5 an hour. 7. STEAM ROOM & SAUNA not free it’s €5 a hour and you have to give them 1 hour notice. 8. SHUTTLE BUS good little service but no one told us on arrival it doesn’t run on a Sunday - we were waiting with other couples saw the time lapsed asked reception and was told not on a Sunday

Please do not book this hotel if you want a cheap escape you will want to escape from there in 1 day

3 positives - a lot of hand sanitisers and they made sure people were wearing masks and gloves at dinner serving and the towels were always changed daily in our room and the WiFi was outstanding.

Great

Review by MonikaR951988 Brno, Czech Republic

Very nice place, great and inteligent staff (Nunu? Im not sure about his name, was absolutely excelent) , very nice food, especially dinners!! What i didnt like - gym is open since 8 a.m., this is too late for people who want go to the gym before breakfast. And second i missed music too much in swimming pool area and sauna, tennis what u have to pay. At hotels is clear to have for free.
