We are just back from a lovely 7 night holiday at this hotel. The hotel is in a fantastic location, a nice quiet location that’s close enough to Funchal town and plenty of restaurants. The facilities are very good. Breakfast was excellent, dinner was good but the are plenty of restaurants around. Taxis everywhere and a good bus service. The hotel has a shuttle bus to Funchal which takes 5-10mins and is brilliant. The airport is only 20-25 mins away and a taxi costs about €44. The staff are very friendly and cleanliness of the hotel is excellent. Only down side is no kettle in the rooms which is very minor. We had a super holiday and will be definitely be going back to this hotel. Thanks for a lovely stay. Aaron kelly.

Just lovely

The hotel is far from the city center . Upon arriving I asked for some water from the receptionist and I was refused. 
In addition , there was not a hair condition the room , I asked the receptionist and again I was refused . 
So I was disappointed a lot . 
The view from the room was good and the pool was well kept . The hotel is clean .

The receptionist is not polite

I am 76, my wife is in a wheelchair, has Parkinson’s and dementia, so bear that in mind when reading the review. I am giving the Panoramico Hotel top star rating, but first lets mention not so good about the hotel.
It is on a steep slope. 
They charge for tea, coffee and milk sachets replacements after first day
Safe deposit box is not free
Shower towels are smaller than I would have expected in a four-star hotel
The nearest supermarket is only two roads up the very steep hill.
I knew the hotel was on a steep hill but had no plans to push the wheelchair up or down any hill which is why I booked it.
The good points
It has the most amazing staff helpful staff, nothing to too much to help me and my wife in the wheelchair. Extremely caring towards her mobility and dementia.
Food is good. Amazing views over Funchal. There is a courtesy shuttle bus 6 days a week which we used.
Give us a fully accessible room with room walk in shower which was cleaned every day. Bed laid out at night. 
My wife was the only wheelchair user in the hotel. I am giving top marks mainly the the excellent caring staff.

Very caring towards my wife

Just returned from a short stay as a single traveller. Very good service at this hotel, reception staff were amazing , helpful, attentive and welcoming. Rooms very comfortable and cleaned daily with the fridge restocked with wines , beers and sweets - a nice addition. Lovely pool area with views across the town. The bar staff were friendly and I felt comfortable and relaxed here in the evening. Thank you for the amazing gin and tonics!
