Musa D'Ajuda

TripAdvisor Review
Portugal, Europe

The apartment complex lies 3 km from the centre and is approximately 700 m from the beach. Countless shops, bars and restaurants are to be found in the vicinity (within 100 m) as are links to the transport network (50 m away).

Opened in 1997, this 6-storey apartment complex comprises 24 apartments and 30 studios split between two buildings. The complex is part of the d'Ajuda holiday village, the facilities of which may be used by guests here. A lobby with 24-hour reception service, safes, a currency exchange desk and lifts feature at this hotel. A bar, a café and a restaurant are to be found in the main building of the complex. There is also a laundry service, a car park and medical assistance on offer.

The comfortably furnished rooms come with an en suite bathroom with hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, a fridge, a kitchenette, a lounge room, a hire safe, central heating and a balcony. The apartments are similarly equipped but also come with a separate bedroom. The rooms are cleaned by hotel staff on guests' departure.

There are swimming pools and a health club with an indoor pool, a gym, a sauna and a hot tub within the complex, the use of which guests are entitled to.

Guests are offered breakfast and evening meals in the form of a buffet at the neighbouring Jardins d'Ajuda suite hotel.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

A very pleasant stay

The hotel is 4-star, but it had everything that I needed for a good rest together with friends. Clean and comfortable room, delicious foods, very polite, friendly and helpful staff. Although it is a bit far from the city centre, it was perfect for various excursions (those can be booked right at the hotel reception) that start with the pick-up from the hotel and drop-off after at the hotel...

The pool was very enjoyable after excursions or after a walk around the Funchal. Perfect for those who want to go on various excursions. There is also a shopping centre just across the street.

Clean but very dated!

Review by Jukebox696969 Truro, United Kingdom

Nice enough in places, but very very dated. Could do with a huge overall of the rooms and areas but in these times what hotel can afford that. Breakfast was ok and the staff we spoke to were nice enough...

Everything is just very dated, even the Samsung TV must be 30 years old! Not a bad place to stay at all, but don't expect a modern hotel, as its not at all.

Nice pool and location

Just back from a week at this hotel, bed and breakfast. The hotel is dated, old furniture however the beds were comfy and the room clean. Nice strong shower above a bath...

Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. The pool was lovely, both indoor and outdoor with plenty of sun beds. Location was a way from central Funchal but plenty of nice restaurants in the area.

Awful place

Review by veronikad855 Worcestershire, United Kingdom

Staying here now 7 to 21 August 2021. Awful place! Don't go here! Staff is very rude and Don't make you welcome. We were placed in the very noisy room (actually all front line of hotel is situated on the very noisy road) plus construction site was going on below us without any notice and after asking for days to change room for extra charge we were just ignored ...

Cleaning is quite bad as well. Restaurant manager is very rude and even dared to make unpleasant comments when didn't like our order making comments opposite of other guests. Generally very tired place very old fashioned. Staff have no idea what hospitality is. Please be careful before you book here.
