Hi We stayed for 7 nights in March. The weather was good with plenty of sunshine. The hotel is clean and staff are excellent, especially IVAN the bar man, he was excellent and very funny. Rooms are good and cleaned every day.
The food was good . With plenty to choose from
Only negative comment was lack of entertainment. They had a kareoke with was a good laugh Had people up dancing. Then one night was local dancers for about 1 hour, good show. There is a free shuttle bus into funchal as the hotel is about 20 minute drive away.. We went on a trip to the volcanic pools which i would recomend. Also up on the cable car is a brilliant experience. Maderia is a very safe place . Really enjoyed our stay and will reurn obe day. Regards Ian and Jayne.
We went in March. The weather was warm and sunny. We were on the top floor...
It was wonderful to sit on the balcony and look out to sea with nothing blocking the view. The room was spacious and clean. You can hear the sea at night. The staff were helpful and helpful. The only downside was the fact that everything is open plan...You come into reception, then into the bar area and then into the restaurant. There is only one bar area and it gets a bit noisy. The guests were mainly British and German. Unfortunately, due to the outbreak of the virus, there was no entertainment. The food was generally good. We liked the way it had been cooked. We went all inclusive. There is a shuttle bus into Funchal. You can walk about 3 miles to the next village, as it is a little bit away from the town. We would go again.
All rooms are large and sea-facing. Great Wi-fi all over the hotel including the pool area and outside restaurant area. We always stay for 1 month and still thoroughly enjoy the walk in to town or to Cámara de Lobos along a beachside walkway...
At the end of our trip the hotel was closing due to Coronavirus but all services were maintained as best they could be, even though a State of Emergency was declared.
We stayed last week 28 Feb to 6 March in room 311 which was our first time in Maderia. The room was ideal, just the right height with lovely views of the sea. Well furnished and kept very clean by a lovely cleaning lady. The food was well cooked with plenty of choices at all main meals...
For an all inclusive deal I thought the food and drinks choices were very good. The public areas of the hotel were always spotless and all staff were friendly and helpful. Sadly the tunnel along the shore was closed so we were unable to walk into Funchal but the free shuttle bus was a welcome surprise to get us out and about. We met some nice people during the evenings and enjoyed the entertainment. We had a wonderful holiday and hope to return soon.
This was a bit of a last minute break for a few days in the sun. We were not disappointed! Although a mixture of sun and cloud, it was about 20 degrees and far better than I had imagined. I will be packing more shorts and t-shirts, next time! The hotel was excellent...
The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The food was excellent with ample choice. Nice rooms with balconies. Crystal clear swimming pool. And everywhere was spotlessly clean. My partner ended our stay by saying that the only complaint he had was that he couldn't find anything to complain about! We will certainly be returning.
