This historic and elegant hotel is situated close to the centre of Funchal. Dating from the 1920s the hotel offers a stunning variety of facilities, shared with the hotels sister property the Pestana Village.

Great food and helpful and friendly staff.
This is my second visit to the Pestana Miramar hotel. A big improvement has been the option of, a la carte restaurants along with the usual buffet restaurant. The food and especially the service at these a la carte restaurants is excellent. The restaurant manager Claudia is the most charming and likeable person you could have to serve you. She was the making of our holiday along with her Nepalese colleague and wine waiter. Have to also mention the friendly room cleaner Delta, who is so quick and efficient. Needed a relaxing time after Covid and these people helped us to accomplish this. There is no gift shop within the hotel which is a pity. Overall, an excellent hotel with a lovely atmosphere and extremely helpful stall.
Great stay. Fantastic service
A beautiful, elegant, traditional-style hotel in a great location in Funchal. Fantastic, well-kept garden. Very clean. The hotel service was very nice and professional - both at the reception and in the restaurants. Large, ergonomically furnished rooms. Food very good compared to other hotels.
Great place
Great hotel with an unusual layout, elevators etc never sure what floor you were on, kids loved it and called it a Harry Potter hotel. Staff was great and always friendly. Beautiful garden and close to everything needed. Strongly recommend the place! 👍
Would definitely return
We are sadly leaving the hotel tomorrow morning but wished we had booked longer. The Hotel is traditional and in keeping with Madeira. The tropical gardens around the hotel grounds are outstanding (better than the paying tropical gardens on the Monte. The staff are the friendliest I have ever encountered, nothing is too much trouble and that includes all staff regardless of their profession. We preferred both the A la Carte restaurants in the Miramer for evening meals, lovely food and unusual menus. You have the option to eat at the Pestana Grande Hotel which we did only once, unfortunately I was not impressed with my meal in the Italian restaurant . The breakfast buffet in the Village/Miramer was good too with lots of choice. We would definitely come back here.
Excellent food and service
We ate at the a la carte restaurants at this hotel but we stayed at The Grande. The meals were excellent and the service was brilliant especially Claudia who works in both a la Carte restaurants. Claudia was very busy but still took the time to explain the menu and talk to us, very professional and friendly. The gardens were beautiful and lite up for Christmas 🎄 we would eat here again without a doubt
