With a great position on top of a hill with magnificent views, this hotel, which sits on a manor house building, is ideally located for everyone looking for a relaxing holiday experience near the sea. From the hotel, guests can enjoy breath-taking views to the Atlantic Ocean, Funchal's city centre and verdant Madeira's mountains. The city centre of Funchal can be easily reached in a 20-minute walk, as well as other nearby villages. All guest rooms are nicely furnished with superior materials and stunning features such as a private balcony with panoramic views. Each of them is individually decorated in soothing and warm colours to ensure its guests enjoy a relaxing and unwinding stay. The on-site restaurant boasts a romantic decoration and serves mouth-watering dishes that will delight even the most discerning guests. Guests will be impressed by the well-kept and beautiful on-site leisure facilities.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Beautiful hotel surroundings, comfortable and well-kept rooms, friendly and helpful staff (I recommend renting a car through the hotel), and a delicious, varied, and abundant breakfast! The breakfast experience is enhanced by a stunning view from the balcony and an excellent pianist - we could have listened to him all day! We were delighted by the eagle that "kept an eye" on the pigeons during breakfast, making sure they didn't hop onto the tables. Our room was ready upon arrival, even though we arrived a few hours early, and we even received a traditional Madeiran Bolo de mel as a welcome gift. We would also like to give special praise to the waitress Karolina (I hope we remembered her name correctly), who served us at dinner and was very friendly and entertaining. We will definitely be back, as the accommodation exceeded all our expectations!
My stay was enjoyable thanks to the attentive and welcoming staff, who consistently delivered a high standard of service. The Executive Room was comfortable and provided everything needed for a relaxing visit. While the hotel has many strengths, it is showing signs of age in places. Replacing older carpets and adding convenient charging ports or USB outlets in the rooms would significantly enhance the guest experience. With these updates, the hotel would be even more appealing
very beautiful surroundings, quiet, very delicious breakfast, thank you, had a great time🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
The quality mostly matched the price—it didn't feel like a five-star luxury experience. However, it is perfect if you are looking for a small, cozy, and quiet hotel. The garden is spectacular, and the frog chorus at night is even more impressive (I couldn't manage to sleep with the window open). It was wonderful to meet people from all over the world here, both among the staff and the guests. I really loved the overall atmosphere; I think it truly reflects the spirit of Funchal. There are plenty of flaws, but they have already been described by others. The location is excellent if you plan to spend all your time at the hotel, as the views are breathtaking. However, if you intend to go into town, it is definitely inconvenient: the hotel is on a high hill, transport links are tricky, and parking is paid. What bothered me the most was the toilet cleaning. In my opinion, it was insufficient. I was shocked by the smell. Perhaps the hotel only uses eco-friendly cleaning products, but they don't solve the problem, and masking the odor with perfume only makes it worse. Despite these issues, the unique vibe of the hotel made my stay in Funchal memorable.
The hotel was at a beautiful location and I loved the garden around it. The atmosphere was very welcoming and caring. The rooms were okay, but with a little overdue maintenance. I missed a coffeemachine in the room; there was only a kettle with instant coffee. Breakfast was okay and existed of a variety of foods. Thanks a lot for this nice stay!
