The hotel staff couldn’t be more friendly or helpful. And the location was excellent. We are a get up and go couple so that was perfect as a base for exploring. Room was good, we had 110 which was an accessible room(even though we didn’t need it) room had a small outside patio with no view, which was like sitting at the bottom of a lift shaft with rooms above. This is my only real complaint the room was super noisy. The echos in the evening/night from the ‘lift shaft’ when others had the windows open. The noise from the bar downstairs and being woken up several times a night from corridor conversations and toilets flushing and doors banging. Bring earplugs or be prepared for broken sleep.
Looked to stay in the Old Town and the location couldn’t be better on “Gin and Tonic” street with Tapas Alley next door. It’s an excellent 3 star hotel, everything is immaculately clean, room was spacious (we had a leak from upstairs in the bathroom on arrival, which was taken care of immediately or we had the choice of another room, so cannot fault the staff) Lovely roof terrace to sunbathe and the barman in the downstairs bar was friendly and attentive. It was lovely to sit outside and watch the world go by in the evening. We went half board and are not fussy eaters, however, the food was mostly cold at both breakfast and dinner which would put us off booking half board again. They just need to invest in some hot plates and that would be remedied though. Lovely to have a bottle of wine included in the evening meal and again, everything is very clean. Would we return? Yes. As it’s such a great location, Staff are attentive and the place is sparkling. For a 3 star hotel you get what you pay for, rooms are basic and functional but the staff go above and beyond to ensure you have a nice holiday. For a cheap getaway it’s an ideal base to explore the Old Town but also close to Levante and the new town, so the best of both worlds.
had a short 5 day break as a couple great location at the end of gin street, breakfast average but included in the price all in all good value except having the cost of the safe payment ? bit of a cheek would go again YES
First couple of days were great,Until the night manager found out that we were a gay couple and was totally homophobic towards us,He then took 40 euros from us after we’ve paid for everything and constantly kept coming to our room telling us to be quiet when we weren’t even making noise,My partner was in the shower I was ironing so we were very confused by this,He then phoned the police on us for us having a laugh no where that loud even the police said we were doing no wrong and then next day the manager said we had to leave we were very hurt over this and being discriminated over our sexuality and having to pay more money to stay at another hotel who were very lovely didn’t mind at all about our sexuality but i would definitely not go back to that hotel again.
One of the best hotels we’ve stayed at in Old Town Benidorm. ( and we’ve stayed in lots over the past 30 odd years.!!!) Food excellent, staff friendly, room clean and smart and in ideal location for us. We will definitely be returning in the spring. Thank you all at Alameda.
