This beautiful hotel is located in Benidorm's tourist centre, only 2 km from the town centre, which is filled with boutiques, cafés, bars, restaurants and nightclubs. There are public transportation links in front of the hotel and there is an excellent golf course just 12 km away. This hotel is ideal for a fun-filled, family holiday under the warm Mediterranean sun. However, hen and stag parties are not allowed at the hotel.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Hi, Just got back home from this hotel. My Wife and I booked an adapted room. Which we allocated No. 1130 with pool view. It's nice and spacious, the bathroom had everything for me, being in a wheelchair, roll in shower, grab bars, fixed fold down seat, hand & rainfall showers. BUT. The door needs castors, it's a bugger to open and close. The sink is too high if you are permanently in a wheelchair. As i say the room is nice and spacious, BUT you cannot get your wheelchair onto the balcony because there is not enough gap between the bed and the unit holding the fridge. the way I had to get onto the balcony was fold my wheelchair and bounce across the bed, so if if you're not nimble enough for that, forget it. The restaurant, finding a table is chaotic, they do have designated tables for disabled, BUT most times they were full, we did try varying the times we went down to the restaurant and touched lucky a few times. The staff only concentrate on setting and clearing the tables. Concentrating so much that they forgot to smile. The food is only OK mostly cold, less said the better. The lifts are hit and miss, the most we waited was 15 minutes even though there are 3 lifts. Overall our stay was OK. BUT we won't be returning. Isobel our room cleaner was very thorough and she was the happiest member of staff we met.
We have stayed at the Ambassador Playa 1 twice a year for a number of years now and have never been disappointed which includes our 10 day stay in September this year 2026. The receptionist Osmara is an extremely pleasant, helpful and professional lady. The rooms are always clean and tidy with excellent cleaning staff. All of the areas are kept spotless. The restaurant is perfect and spotless with a very good selection for breakfast, lunch and evening meals. There is always a Chef on hand to ensure the service areas are always clean and well stocked. The head chef is more than happy to take anyone with allergies around the restaurant and explain what is contained in each of the meals available. The is staff are so pleasant, and helpful. They really help make your visit so enjoyable. I would love to name all of them but I don’t have all of their names. However the following restaurant staff really do make the visit an excellent experience, The manager, John (Juanjo) and the waiters Waka, Oxsana, Montoya and Mihella. The staff at the pool bar are also first class with special mention to Jesus. We have booked to return to the Ambassador Playa 1 in April of next year and are so looking forward to it. We would without doubt recommend the Ambassador.
Spotlessly clean hotel, right on the strip. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely come back here.
I travelled with 3 friends for a 5 night break at the beginning of September. We had 2 rooms which were cleaned every day and fresh towels provided.. We were Half Board. I’m a vegetarian and most of the time there was plenty of choice. Best to avoid 7pm when the evening meal service commenced as lots of queues. After that it was better. Trying to find 4 sunloungers mid morning proved a bit challenging. However there a member of staff who solely works by the pool and he will help if you’re in any difficulty. Unfortunately I can’t remember his name but he sits next to the stage. There was a member of staff called Jesus who works in the Tropical bar during the day who went above and beyond my expectations., From the first day he came up to us whilst we were sunbathing and asked if we needed anything, then got our drinks. The snack bar was fine for food at lunchtime and very quick, Unfortunately there is a negative that needs addressing: The steps to both pools need updating, There were a lot of people who were unable to use the pool because the last step was too far away from the pool edge. It seemed easier to get in but impossible for them to get out without help. Not ideal when you’re on holiday and want to use the pool at your leisure. It was very hot (mid 30s) when we were there and this was a big problem. I think a lot of people would not return to the hotel for this reason. It’s a shame as the hotel really is in a great location, There is potential for the pool to be altered and have a walk in area from the little pool. I would recommend the hotel if the pool issue was resolved.
I wouldn’t stay in this hotel if you paid me I haven’t been in the pool all the 10 days there’s only step ladders in the pool which are very lose and the last step is low for getting out food was a bit rubbish stayed on soup most of the week or gone out for food the staff are nice and the rooms are clean but I definitely wouldn’t stay again especially on the strip I will go to hotel s that have a walk in the pool I feel sorry for the elderly and disabled people who think they are going to this hotel and when they get there they can’t go swimming
