We stayed at Hotel Mediterraneo in August as a family of four on an all-inclusive basis, and overall we enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is very clean and well maintained, with lovely cold air conditioning throughout the reception and excellent air conditioning in the rooms. Our room was fairly basic but a good size, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, including a mini fridge, TV, toiletries and a nice balcony view. Housekeeping was excellent, and all the staff we encountered were friendly, polite and helpful.
The food was very good, with a huge choice of hot and cold options, fresh salads, plenty of bread and something to suit everyone. The bar staff were also fantastic and very accommodating, with a good selection of soft drinks and mocktails.
The pool is nice but does get very busy and feels a little small for the size of the hotel. The fact that it’s all one depth is also a shame. The sunbed situation could be better too. Despite signs saying sunbeds shouldn’t be reserved, towels are often left on them for hours and the rule doesn’t seem to be enforced.
One other thing worth knowing if you’re booking all inclusive is that the hotel doesn’t use wristbands. Instead, you get a card which acts as your room key and proof of your board type. At the bar, you’re only allowed to order one drink per card at a time. This becomes particularly tedious in the evenings when everyone is using the outdoor bar by the entertainment—you have to take all the cards with you and queue/order individually rather than simply being able to get drinks for your group.
The evening entertainment was varied and there was something different on every night, but it was very loud. Our room was almost directly above the entertainment area and the noise often continued past midnight, which wasn’t ideal when trying to sleep.
Overall, a really good hotel with excellent staff, food and cleanliness. The pool, sunbed situation, drink-card system and very loud evening entertainment are the main things that stopped it being a 5-star experience for us.
4/5 - Would recommend as a cheaper family holiday
We have recently returned from our stay in this hotel. We found the hotel very friendly staff helpful and spotlessly clean which we appreciated. I am a fussy eater and found a wide selection of food and no complaints some of the food was better than we had had on our previous cruise. Our grandson enjoyed all the facilities evening entertainment more for the children. We tended to go out. Excellent cleanliness from the housekeeping staff and very helpful. Card system no problem I can't understand why people moan.... We would certainly return looking at next year.....
On our last few hours here at this hotel. This hotel is spotless, cleanest hotel/toilets etc I've been to. The foods been great and always s sun lounger if looking for one. Loved my holiday here with 4 kids.
I will start by saying i have never written a review before ! this is my 40th year of travel.! And my 5th time to this hotel. My last time was 3 years ago when wristbands were in use and you were allowed two drinks per visit, this worked well and kept the queues down as i didn't need to go to the bar 15 mins later . This new card system is not good, one drink per card and they have to move away from the serving area to swipe the card ! this would be fine if there were two bar staff ! so my main gripe is Queuing , in the daytime/evening most of the time there is one person serving .Its not the staffs fault who were friendly. I feel the management have got there money up front and now make it hard for us customers to access the bar ?(get our moneys worth ) I must have spent 4 hours queuing over 5 days ! Its just a little moan as like i said i loved this place on my 4 previous visits. I now don't think its a 4 star. The food also was not great ,sure you could find something to eat, just seems to have gone down in quality .example cheese ,very processed now, watermelon very dry. Plus point great wifi and nice staff..PLEASE ALLOW 2 DRINKS BACK AND MORE BAR STAFF.
We are currently here on holiday as family of 4, two boys 11 & 15. Those moaning, on here. Wow. Rooms are spacious and clean. No issue at all. Cleaned daily with fresh towels as and when needed. The pool area is busy I agree, however we have been down late every day so far and got 4 beds together. I would rather close beds than not enough! My fussy eaters have eaten a full meal every service and not just from the kids section. Snack bar keeps you ticking over in between meals, in fact most days we have been there rather than having lunch in the restaurant. Breakfast is self service drinks, lunch and dinner drinks are served to your table- again no issue. The all inclusive system includes drinks, ice cream and lollies, yes you are charged for anything premium but that is to be expected. The card system everyone is making a big deal of is being blown out of proportion you can see exactly why it in place, it is to ensure the right person is being served what they are entitled too as there is a mix of half board and all inclusive- your family photo comes up when they scan your card. It isn’t an issue. If you want two drinks, take two cards. Simple. Location is nice and quiet but walking distance to beach and right on bus route (the number 10) if you want to venture a bit further. A wonderful place. Staff work like troopers. Entertainment keeps adults and children busy. You cannot complain about them at all. Ignore the moaners and enjoy your holiday as much as we are 😊
