Family holiday late September. Reception staff very good. Dealt with queries and questions in very professional manner...
We had leaky air conditioning unit. They changed us straight away. All the staff where very friendly and would quite happily joke with you. Food was all inclusive plus drinks. Swimming pool very nice. As was all around the pool. Indoor pool. You need a hat. Gym was used by some of us. And was fit for purpose while on holiday. Few nice bars near by. And the strip and square 15 mins away. And beach also 15 mins away. Old town good 30 to 40 mins walk along sea front.
Just spent short of a week at this wonderful hotel. Superb location and very restful tranquil grounds in the midst of the Benidorm action. All of the property is delightful albeit a little tired in places...
All of the staff encountered were welcoming and helpful in particular the staff in the ‘level lounge’ with a special thanks to the ladies on the reception there. The array and choice of food on the buffets is amazing and surpasses that of many 5 star hotels that we have visited. Superb chefs! Would highly recommend and we look forward to returning soon.
I wouldn’t normally write a review after the first day. This place is exceptional. From the moment we arrived the bellboy / concierge was fantastic...
We had a lot of bags and he made it as easy as possible. We were then directed the the level check in who again made the start of our break wonderful. Olivia in the level longe was great with our boy. Total class this place and I was shocked for Benidorm. The higher floors are a must as the views are incredible. Can’t wait for the rest of my stay.
The Level, this is a lovely experience and definitely worth the extra money. The staff are excellent.
The pool area is really nice
The bed was super comfortable
The rooms and very dated, furniture chipped and just old...
The shower leaks everywhere and random water puddles appear in the bathroom overnight, careful so slippy.
All inclusive, the food is very average and it’s literally the same everyday. It’s honestly not worth going all inclusive you end up Eating out. I would recommend bed and breakfast only.
You get no drinks in your room at all not even water. Usually with all inclusive you would get a daily mini bar and a restock you get nothing.
Reception staff are the rudest people I’ve ever encountered so unhelpful and just rude.
Would I stay here again, never but if you have booked or are going to, make sure you request a high floor and get the level upgrade.
BE AWARE when paying at the hotel! If you pay by Mastercard or visa you do not get the option to pay in local currency, this cost us £25 more than expected. I did challenge this as our cc receipt says 'I confirm I have been offered to pay in local currency' which we hadn't. Reception said the payment machine since covid, does not give the option...
Yet when I paid for my drinks bill at the end of the holiday by the same card I was offered local currency. Next time I will pay by cash not card or Amex as a friend paid that way.
This is my 3rd visit to the Melia Benidorm and if I get another excellent price I would consider going back. However, its certainly not the best hotel and not as good as my 1st visit. The not good issues I experienced: Lack of air conditioning in reception and restaurant. Pool area not cleaned daily. Papers and cigarette butt there for the 3 days. Food is average. You won't starve but its not wonderful. Reception staff are very nice but can't say the same for the restaurant staff. Which we have found on others visits. We had an incident where we had to speak to the manager about a waiter who was extremely rude. Lighting in rooms is poor. Made reception aware of issues with the safe and the shower leaking onto the floor of the room, nothing was done about either. Room card failed several times, which is a nuisance when your on 13th floor. The sanitiser stations around the hotel were often empty.
Good points: Lovely bar by hotel entrance with very friendly staff, especially Fernando. Large rooms with comfortable beds Good position with nice bars nearby. Very nice fitness/entertainment staff with lots of energy and super friendly. Pool bar was ok, nice staff. Large swimming pool with plenty of sunbeds.
