Not worth the money at all

Well where to start we booked this hotel for 7 couples for my 50th birthday and on arrival looks amazing we paid extra for the level which is like a step up from all inclusive all top shelf spirits Ha Ha that’s a lie you had a smell room next to the dinner hall well cattle market where you where ment to be waited on hand and foot nope know one was hardly there which didn’t really bother us as we used the main dinning area as we all wanted to eat together there was a happy hour between 6-7 where you could have top shelf and was not a lot to choose from it’s was a con all inclusive is all you need you get Smirnoff vodka in the normal bar away and absolute for 1 hour in the level 😂 food was topical Spanish servings there was no pool bar open and no main pool open the 2 large jacuzzis where empty and not in use the balcony on arrival was a mess we didn’t get told any of this on booking or arrival when ordering drinks they try to serve you just 2 even if your in a large group and serve Spanish guests 1st the barman was so rude to my wife until I got a grip of him and soon as she when to complain he was like our best friend just not good enough there was construction right next to the hotel and right at the back they started work at 6:30am and didn’t stop until 9pm Iv never heard noise like it anywhere Iv ever been, the balconey was always dirty never cleaned from the dust from the building sites if you wanted to chill out around the pool you had to walk into the hotel up 3 lots of stairs to the main bar to get drinks as the pool bar was closed soon as we complained and more guest complained they opened it soo as a large party of Spanish arrived for a marathon that was going on in Benidorm felt as if we where treated as second class citizens at a so called 4 star hotel you can only get drinks from 11am until midnight and if your checking out on that day at 12 o’clock you are entitled to nothing else, even if your flights not till later they where holding company Christmas party’s there with no extra staff so on them evenings you had no chance of beening served unless you spoke Spanish Fernando the bar man is such a creep calling all women wopa which means beautiful in Spanish which is nice but he’s very touchy feely and makes them wait at the bar or only gives them 1 drink and tells the to come back and see him 🤮🤮🤮 creep I wouldn’t stay there again but if you are I wouldn’t book the level it’s just not worth it trust me looks great when you 1st get booked in there and there’s fridges of beer and soft drink cookies and nut fruits and you are separate from the rest of the guests but it only for a few hours and can’t take your drinks out of there every time we went on it was packed no where to site and not as much chose of foods as the main dinning area please see photos

Don’t bother going

We have just come back I would not recommend this hotel as we got to our room and looked like it wasn’t cleaned went into the bathroom and the ceiling was leaking dripping water so phoned down to reception and they said they will send someone up after 1 and half hour later someone knocked but I got in the shower as sick of waiting said he come back to my husband in about 10 minutes yet he didn’t then the maid come knocking at 8.30 9ish just walk in one one of the days we had already gone out so they cleaned the room we got back I sat on the bed and it tipped up when I looked the leg was in the middle of the floor so had to lift the bed and fix it but it was like wood with plastic legs awful didn’t get any fresh water and there was a fridge but full with things that they charge you for plus nuts, chocolate, fruit etc which they charge you and the women come same time as maid to check it but the prices were mad 4.50 euros for a tiny chocolate bar or small can of coke 😡 swimming pool closed no water no spa no pool bar no snacks dinner was the same thing not alot of choice building work going on so couldn’t sit on balcony as noise was awful digger from about 7 am to 9pm so not alot of sleep had to keep the door closed to try and keep the noise down plus on one of the days there was no hot water from 11am to 6pm would not recommend this hotel I could go on but to many things to say

Don’t bother.

We chose this hotel after a wonderful stay here last May.

We wish we hadn’t as it’s no longer good.

The large pool is all closed off. I understand maintenance etc but it would have been good to have been informed.

The food was dismal, cold or lukewarm and sometimes soo salty. Basically inedible. We were half board and we were just having a bread roll most nights with some ham. I gave up on the breakfast my husband though used to go and get a bread roll.

He fancied beans on toast one morning and the beans were cold.. unacceptable.

When we mentioned it we just had a shrug of the shoulders!

The building site opposite OMG the noise is relentless. From 7.30 am till gone 9.00pm most nights.

Again we should have been informed and we would have changed hotels.

The headboard in the room was unbelievably bad. All peeling off with hairs in there from the previous guest. On complaint we were told it’s because of the weather and it would be looked in to. I’m still waiting.

The cleaning lady knocks door once and just walks straight in and that’s with the do not disturb sign on . Unacceptable.

We asked her to actually do our room once in our 7 night stay and the bed wasn’t even changed.

The music from the bar down stairs is loud and repetitive. All in all no relaxation on this holiday. Impossible to sit on the balcony with the noise and the dust. The building site will be there for at least another year. Be warned. Certainly won’t be booking this hotel again. We were a party of 8 and we all thought the same.

the Melia has become stale

Have stayed at this hotel before, and explicitly booked upon being more than happy with the prior experience, I am leaving this review with the aim of warning any potential people who are considering booking, and also to hopefully aid in rectification of standards that have unfortunately cascaded. Firstly the hot food options really was beyond poor, seasoned to the point of inedible, sometimes stone cold, or food options not replenished by the kitchen thus giving less choices for the dining room. Music being played loudly up until midnight from the reception bar, so making balconies an impossible place to just relax. Cleaners knocking multiple times regardless of do not disturb signs on doors, and when cleaned, only basics done, and no top up on tea or coffee at all. The gym was massively in need of equipment, and is in a sorry state altogether. Staff in the outdoor pool bar area seemed annoyed when asked for the simplest of requests. I could go on, I have no idea what has happened in a short space of time to the melia since my last visit, whether there budget has been reduced, or new management structure? I hope they can take it back to the gem it was not long ago.

Not the hotel if you want a quiet nights sleep or hot food at breakfast

Okay so I’ll start with the bad points. Breakfast: an absolute shambles. Chaos with hundreds of people everywhere causing huge lines to form with not enough staff. 20 minutes to wait for a very poorly made omelette. The food they use for breakfast is probably the cheapest they could find. The sausages were disgusting, the bacon inedible and the beans stone cold. Even when I asked for fresh beans, they were still luke-warm. Coffee machine absolutely disgusting and the orange juice tasted like orange cordial not fresh orange juice, and being an hour from Valencia where all oranges grow, you would expect some nice orange juice not fake orange juice. I’m so glad I didn’t pay an extra €19 a day for the evening meal to be included judging by breakfasts quality.

The room - The room was okay, very nice view, however the beds were rock hard, like sleeping on the floor, the walls so thin you could hear the conversations next door, as well as any walking around from upstairs and if anybody nearby opened their balcony sliding door, it was as if they were coming into your room! You could hear the grating and grinding noises from the lift during the night too. Then to top it all off, they must be building another hotel across the street and bang on 8am everyday, even on Saturdays there horrendous drilling and crashing from the JCB’s which wakes you up and makes it too noisy to sit outside.

Don’t bother getting coffee from the bar either because it’s cheap disgusting uht milk style.

Would avoid this hotel if you actually know anything about what a nice place should be like.
