Thank you so much to all the staff at Villa del Mar for curating such a relaxing, friendly and fun experience for us as newlyweds!
Every single member of staff we met was friendly, helpful, and couldn’t do enough to make sure we had the perfect stay. Special thanks to Carol and Angelina, who served us every single day with a smile, warmth and kindness. We’ll never forget you!
The buffets had such a wide array of freshly-cooked food and far surpassed the quality I was expecting on an all-inclusive holiday.
The location is fantastic - right on the seafront - which meant we could go to the beach with minimal hassle.
We tried some of the activities and they were a fun way to meet other guests. We even won a voucher during the bingo for both of us to use the spa! The Friday foam party was also very fun - special thanks to staff member Giuliana for making us laugh lots during those activities.
Having never been to Benidorm before and never had an all-inclusive holiday before, I would definitely go back to Villa Del Mar and I know my other half feels exactly the same. Thank you all!
We stayed at Villa Del Mar for a week. Myself, husband and 2 teenagers, the room was compact for 4 of us but we managed. ( this is more my fault as i should have looked more carefully at the rooms when i booked) We had twin beds and a sofa bed. We were in a corner room at the back of the hotel 809 and our side window had views of the beach which were lovely and at the back of the hotel where the pool is. The food was good, always plenty of choice. 1 of my boys is a really fussy eater in the UK so it was always going to be tricky, breakfast was definitely a highlight though. The cleaners did a great job and the room and hotel were spotless. The pool area is small but we always found a sunbed and there were times when the pool was very quiet. The rooftop bar is fabulous, we spent most evenings up there. The lady behind the bar was amazing, i didn't get her name but she really made our evenings enjoyable. We watched the eclipse from the rooftop bar and again a great experience. The spa was good- my family enjoyed it but it's not something i would normally chose to do. There are no balconies, but i knew this when i booked, and to be honest it was so hot we may not have used it much. The air con in the room was great, even with 4 of us, we had to turn it off some nights as it got too cold! There are a lot of stairs and only 2 lifts, we often walked down and got the lift on the way up, but never had to wait too long. All round a lovely holiday, to sit and relax by the pool, and explore Benidorm which is beautiful. Thank you to all the staff who work so hard to make our holiday so enjoyable.
The Villa Del Mar is an absolutely shameful excuse for a hotel - simply AWFUL. Our entire stay was ruined by the hotel staff.
Firstly, we are vegetarian. We emailed the hotel a week or so in advance of staying and were told it wouldn't be a problem. And indeed on our first dinner, we were pleasantly surprised to find a 'vegetarian corner' on the menu. Then we looked a little further. On most nights, the vegetarian corner contained those well known vegetarian items such as Chicken and Pork. We would even cut into things thinking they were vegetarian only to find meat or fish hiding in the middle. It got to the point we had to actually pre-order vegetarian dinner items - only to be presented with something completely different to what we asked for because it was easier for them. Fried finger food is not an acceptable all inclusive dinner.
The bigger issue though was that the hotel lost our child's teddy bear that he had since birth and nobody cared one bit. The teddy bear was on the bed, which they changed (despite us not having asked them to do so). As a white teddy bear it clearly got lost in the sheets. We reported it the same day and they said they'd look for it, but it was clear from every interaction that they did not care one bit. Our child left his holiday crying saying he wished he'd never come - something that no nine year old boy should be saying after what should be one of their best weeks of the summer.
In short - if you're vegetarian or you have children, do not stay at the Villa Del Mar. You are not welcome.
We stayed at Villa del Mar recently. The hotel is in a good location, across the road from the beach near the old town. The breakfast was lovely with lots of variety. There are no balconies, which I knew before we left but I realised how useful they are when you don't have one. The pool area gets quite crowded and all the sunbeds are taken quite early on, although most people come and go and sunbeds do become available throughout the day. We sunbathed in the children's play area underneath the pool as this was very quiet and more relaxed. I dried my swimming costume and towel in this area too as there is nowhere to hang your wet things apart from the bathroom. Overall a nice hotel in a good location with a few minor setbacks.
Disappointed to say the least. Currently here now. Family of 4. Already 2k paid for the room. Which in my opinion is a room only just big enough for a couple and maybe a baby at push. We have teenagers and there is just zero space. Absolutely no where to put anything or hang anything. No where to hang wet clothing. No where to put suitcases. 1 tiny wardrobe for 4 people. Not even enough plug sockets for one each. It’s the most basic room iv ever been in at a very high rate. Do not be fooled by the photos online!! They are nothing like it. Spoken with the manager who offered us another room, exactly the same at the same price!! Another 2k. Total joke. Both manager and deputy manager persisted to shrug their shoulders as I expressed my discomfort. This is a 3 star hotel at most. There is also no where near enough sunloungers for everyone. There’s probably 20 sunloungers and 100s of people. Forces you out to the beach where there is no shade. The hotel is just too small and cannot cater for families. No toilets by the pool either which means walking back to the room or down 4 floors to reception every time someone wants a wee. Food and staff in the kitchens are lovely. It’s a shame management and owners are setting their prices extremely high for less than basic. My advice. Don’t book
