Lovely hotel with superb staff making your holiday extra special

Review by 324sylvanab Gibraltar

We spent 8 nights in this lovely hotel. The rooms and food were lovely, however what made the holiday more memorable was the wonderful staff that run the hotel. Special thanks go to the receptionist Alejandro and Ramon who were both very welcoming, the metre Xavier, Sara Isabel valiente, Concepcion arias, Rosario Juarez, Jasmin sachadle and alba Carrillo...

They were very attentive and a pleasure to speak to. Also a big shout out to the entertainment team, Juanjo, Valentina, Pablo, Donna and Fabio. They are a lovely group of young people entertaining the kids and families. My son did not want to go to the beach club as he enjoyed their games so much. I would definitely go again as we all had a lovely time.

Not great

Review by Rachie50 Thornbury, United Kingdom

I thought this hotel was just ok. It's definitely not the best. The WiFi kept losing connection and majority of the time didn't work...

The food was poor. The melon was over and the pears one day had gone off. The food the was supposed to be hot was the same every night (chicken, fish, pork in a different sauce). I asked for more scrambled eggs as there was a space and label for it and the chef came out with fried chicken which made me chuckle. I asked for boiled eggs they said no. I didnt find the staff particularly friendly. Very little entertainment for children. Location is remote. Wouldn't rush back.

Amazing hotel

Review by TEthel71

I have just returned from a short 5 day break from this hotel and I would absolutely return. Our check procedure was very easy and swift and the staff were very friendly and could answer any questions we had. The rooms are large and the bathroom had 2 showers in it! The beds are very comfortable and the pillows-you had a choice. Lovely sized balcony, which we had the sun late in the day...

We looked over the side of the pool. The foyer is very nicely done and there are plenty of comfortable seats to use. The pool area was very nice and plenty of beds to choose from this time of year. Also very clean. With the food I would agree with one other review that it would be better if the food in the restaurant was labeled as my friend was a vegetarian. Although on the other hand the chef was on hand to ask and if you looked confused he offered up the information. My friend asked if they would be doing a margarita pizza because it was only a meat version on offer at the time and the chef happily went off and made her a plain cheese one. The choice was fabulous and I have to say the meat that I tried I couldn't complain about, probably some of the best pork I have tasted. The variation every day in my opinion was ample and the food was nothing but delicious and I totally loved the sushi that was on offer one day, got a little over excited and ate too much. We were all inclusive, some of the drinks weren't included but this was absolutely fine because the choice was everything you could wish for. This hotel isn't very close to anywhere but it is a little walk to Fuengirola but manageable. I found all the staff very nice and friendly and wanted to help any way they could. On the day of leaving they have a complimentry room down by the indoor pool with about 4 showers for you to use on your departure. Thank you for a very lovely stay.

Too remote

Review by Lurgantruth

We stayed for a week in Feb in UK half term. Admittedly we stayed out of season and fully expected most of the facilities to be closed for the winter. We found the bedrooms were in need of some TLC but we didn't mind too much as they were reasonably clean...

Cleaners visited the room each day and changed towels, made beds up.etc. Staff were very pleasant and although food was average it was ok. We thought food should be labelled as our party sometimes selected food they thought was something different from what it was (thought it was chicken but found it was fish. This resulted in unneccesary dood wastes when it wasnt eaten. Sadly We found the hotel extremely remote and too far from shops etc. We booked this hotel based on description of distance to the beach, but from hotel RIWO walking to the beach and back is not a realistic option if you have young children or mobility issues. One of our party desperatly needed some standard pain relief (basic paracetamol or ibuprofen) but the hotel shop which is very poorly stocked does not sell any medication. The hotel manager advised the nearest farmacy was 15mins away by car which meant taking a taxi at significant cost for return journey. Admittedly here is a vending machine in the reception area where you can purchase medication for various ailments but the machine mainly sells homeopathic remedies which we purchased at extortionate price but found them to be useless. The vending machine does sell basic aspirin tabs for around €14 euro which we felt was a compete RIP OFF considering they cost about £1 per pack in the UK. In addition to the hotel shop there is a larger shop in the hotel across the road on the same complex but unfortunately stock there was also overpriced and poor quality. In terms of location f you want to stay in Spanish area where you can stroll around, easily the beach and browse local shops or bars, we wouldn't recommend booking the holiday world hotel complex. It is best suited to those who prefer to holiday in the hotel itself. As a family we have visited Spain many times and love the Country and the people, however we wouldn't return to this hotel complex.

Very disappointing.

Review by remap2017 Horam, United Kingdom

We have Just returned from riwo yesterday from a 7 day all inclusive holiday, when we turned up to the hotel to check in, there was no help with suitcases! the food there is terrible!!! at the outside bar there is some cold food... bread cheese and ham yogurts and some fruit put out through the day which is left out and not covered, we went to get some Food one day and there was two stray cats sitting next to where to food was kept outside and quiet a few wasps on the food which is left uncovered! same food for lunch and dinner everyday. Also dinner doesn’t start until 7:30pm and with two young children it’s way too late, some of the drinks aren’t all inclusive, the bar in the hotel doesn’t open until 7pm so if your in your room you have to go outside to get drinks as outside bar only bar that’s open it only opens inside early if it rains!! the beach club is very nice good for all ages of kids, we got told when we got there the food isn’t all inclusive there only drinks which is a bit of a nightmare, the kids disco didn’t start until late so Theres not much to do for the kids unless there swimming...

the indoor play centre only opens for an hour in the morning, and kids aren’t allowed in the indoor swimming pool until 3pm and you have to book that morning And you also have to use swimming hats, they are 3 euros each and I even had to buy one for my 8 month old she has no hair, and I told them she wouldn’t keep it on other wise we wasn’t allowed in! I definitely wouldn’t return to this hotel.. very over priced.
