Booked into the sirocco after being moved from triton which we refused to stay because that was a dump, what can I say this is just as bad ! The food cold , no heating in room and reception said that it could not be fixed , holes all around floor in entertainment area which are dangerous when women walking in heals , cleaning is appalling bed not changed in a week , the staff were rude to older guests , avoid this one , the button on heating was removed to stop guests getting warm this is definitely not a four star maybe one at best , also avoid jet 2 as great until u have a ptoblem
We were a family of 2 adults and 1 teenage daughter (16) and stayed for 1 week flying from Edinburgh as part of a Jet2 package holiday. We did the all inclusive package which I felt was a good price when I compare to many others we have done.
This was our 5th time in the area so know it quite well from Fuengirola all the way along to Torremolinos...
The hotel is located right on the edge of Benalmadena and is about a 30 min walk along to our favourite marina passing all of the restaurants and cafes along the way with lots of choice.
We arrived at the hotel around midday and were immediately checked in with no fuss at all. By 1230 we were by the pool and by 1235 I had my first holiday beer:-) after near 2 years of no holidays.
Our room was on the 9th floor with side sea views and we looked all the way along to the Benalmadena Marina in the distance.
The hotel was a mix of Irish/British/Dutch/Scandinavian.
The rooms are basic but spotless and all you need for a holiday i.e. a bed to lay your head. Towels and room service every day. There were also complimentary toiletries and toothbrushes etc.
The pool was fresh water so not for the faint hearted but once you adjusted it was fine. Plenty sunbeds and no scrambling around for beds (maybe due to end of season??). The pool bar had snacks for the All Incl. Package as well as the usual drinks package. There was entertainment from Miguel who did well to get people to participate in pool aerobics, darts, shuffle board, bingo, Kube etc. There were also 4 poster beds with drapes etc on a raised area to the side of the pool which you paid for at €22 to include a bottle of cava which was nice.
There was a small beach just along from the hotel about a 5 min walk which was nice. Standard rate at beaches was €6 for a sunbed.
Now for the food on All Incl. Breakfast was excellent with various and plenty healthy options as well as their take on a cooked breakfast. There was also a cooking station for omelettes of your choice and fillings made to order as well as fried eggs. Cereals aplenty so really there was plenty choice for everyone. You could have zero complaints with breakfast. My wife always takes her own Tetley teabags :-) Lunch was again a great choice of hot and cold food along with a wok order where they cooked to order. You could have bottled water, bottled San Miguel or bottles of Cava and Red/White/Rose Rioja wine where the bottle would be tagged and kept for your next meal should you not finish it. The wine was very nice for an all inclusive package and they opened the bottles right there in front of you. Evening meal we only went to once, not because it wasn’t nice but because we love eating out along at the marina but still find all inclusive worth it even if you only do breakfast, lunch and drinks during the day. So evening meal was again plenty choice with a wok station cooking to order various veg and meat - chicken/Turkey/beef/fish. Again great choice and lots of healthy food and deserts. Like I said though, we prefer to eat out so did so at some fantastic places in the marina and surrounding areas.
The hotel gym was well equipped to keep fitness fanatics ticking over with various resistance machines and some free weight dumbbells. For any runners, well the promenade in either direction from the hotel was good. Turn right at the back of hotel though if you want to pass the nudist beach about 1.5k away!!!
There is a lovely restaurant at the back of and right next to the hotel called La Cala which is very nice and a must visit.
You can also get some snorkelling done at the small beach next to the hotel as there are plenty rocks attracting the fish.
Overall we had a great time just lazing by the pool enjoying much needed sun and afternoon drinks in the sun. Great walks along the front to the marina too.
We felt we got great value for a family of 3 on all inclusive even if we did only have 1 evening meal in. Too many great choices out to stay in but a great base to stay.
Staff seemed friendly enough and work really hard.
Covid rules of masks etc were followed and hygiene spot on.
I would recommend this hotel as for the price you can’t go wrong.
If you want 5 star then go pay 5 star prices. This hotel delivered perfectly for the price point.
Just got back after staying in room 603. Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Two double beds / big bathroom / mirror and electric socket in great position for wife to sit and do her hair / make up...
Fridge . Room cleaned daily and linen changed daily. Good variety / selection of food cooked perfectly and hot. Hotel is immaculate. Plenty of sun loungers
Stayed for 4 nights as a post lockdown autumn break. The hotel is directly by the sea with easy and quick access to a variety of beaches, restaurants, shops and entertainment. It has a handy bus stop right outside making it cheap and easy to go to the other resorts, airport, old town and entertainment venues.
Benalmadena is a safe, clean and entertaining resort with its lovely beaches, people, shops and marina.
The hotel was extremely clean, well managed and has a full spectrum of facilities including pools, spa, entertainment. The rooms are exceptionally clean, family friendly and spacious...
The sea views from room 430 was simply amazing.
The staff made the hotel exceptionally attractive. Special mention to Alfonso on reception who was extremely helpful in every aspect. Eduardo in the restaurant helped us with our vege dietary needs. Barbara in the Spa was friendly and extremely accommodating in the gym.
Good hotel. The only minus point is that the carrots and the celery were not fresh but were canned vegetables. And there was no diet buffet...
All the rest was very good. Big clean rooms. Clean hotel. Nice pools even a pool with jacuzzi. Nice terrasses.
