Firstly arrived and put in a box room with broken furniture and hair’s still in the bathroom. Then moved to another room which had ants and a balcony looking out to a building site and full of cigarettes. Receptionist was far from helpful, even told lies. Adult only hotel but when we arrived there was a “school trip” of some sorts. Watched the man cleaning the pool which was scraping all the dirt from the sides and then leaving the excess to float around the pool. No sunbeds unless you get up and wait for the gates to open. Holes in bed sheets. Breakfast was also awful so only ate there once (I say ate, i looked around and quickly changed my mind and walked straight back out) whole of outside of hotel was a building site and work was all we could hear throughout our stay. Bathrooms need refurbished, awful cheap shower and broken tiles. Worst part was the attitude of receptionist with our problems. Definitely will not be returning to this hotel.
A wonderful stay
Fabulous from start to finish. Lovely room allocation on the 5th floor with fantastic sea view. The room was modern and extremely clean. Bed was comfy and the room was quiet too. Hotel was spotlessly clean throughout, the cleaners were polite, friendly and worked tirelessly. Breakfast and dinner were both good with plenty of choice. The only criticism would be if you wanted a cooked breakfast the sausages were frankfurter type, not a problem for us but could be for some.
It was my husbands Birthday whilst we were away and without prompt they left a note in the room for a gift from the bar. A lovely personal touch.
Finally, the bar staff. They were exceptional. Special mention to Paulo and the guy who served in the evenings (didn't get his name 😔) they were fantastic, so polite and friendly. They always went the extra mile.

Perfect location
Easy check in with lovely staff. We found all the public areas clean and with higher end furnishings , very comfy, We stayed half board and genuinely enjoyed every meal. Plenty of sun bathing areas. Room was refurbished to a good standard. The location is perfect for the marina and promenade. We will stay again.
Bright and clean but smell from bathroom drains ruined it.
Arrived early and were pleased to be able to checkin straight away. We had a room on the top floor with a magnificent view in all directions. The hotel public areas are all very bright and clean with nicely presented and decorated areas to relax, including a small open plan bar and reading area. Being November, the pool areas were quiet, water was very cold but no difficulty at all getting sun loungers. We were half board, and would definitely recommend arriving at opening time (6.30pm) as the food was not sufficiently being kept warm. There was a reasonable choice of food, well presented but desert options very limited.
My biggest issue was with the smell in the bedroom coming from the sink / drains. Despite blocking them each day we went out, the room stank and to be honest it meant despite having a magnificent view we were unable to spent any time relaxing in the room which was very disappointing. The room and bathroom was very basic and should be noted that unusually there were no tea/coffee making facility in the bedroom.
The location is excellent for the Marina, beaches, bars & restaurants.

Hooray for the Hotel Alay
To start with the location of the hotel is perfect, literally over the road from the Marina and the beach. Arrived mid afternoon, and we were able to check in straight away. The reception area was extremely clean and welcoming and the staff were very friendly. We were given a room on the 9th floor with a magnificent view of the marina and the sea. The room itself was spacious, clean and very comfortable, and the cleaners came in every day. We stayed bed and breakfast and there was lots of choice and, even though it wasn't always red hot, there was a microwave available to heat it up. The restaurant itself was immaculately clean and bright, and again, the staff were very friendly. Finally the bar area was very comfortable and prices at the bar were very reasonable. I would definitely stay here again
