This hotel in the holiday resort of Benalmádena lies some 250 m from the sprawling, wide sandy beach and 1 km from the centre. A bus stop is located within just metres of the hotel, while scores of bars and pubs lie a short distance away, shops and restaurants as well as a nightclub are to be found in the centre of the town a mere 200 m to 400 m from the establishment. Surrounded by lush gardens, this elegant hotel is a perfect option for all those who wish to escape from hustle and bustle of the city life. The rooms are ample and well-equipped to provide a peaceful ambience in which to kick back at the end of the day. Guests may take advantage of the 2 swimming pools with integrated children's pool, bar, parasols and sun loungers. The in-house solarium is available for use by hotel guests. Sports enthusiasts may find leisure facilities in the vicinity of the establishment. The hotel runs a seasonal entertainment programme.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Nice but could be better!
We have just spent a week at MedPlaya Hotel Bali and overall we had a lovely holiday.
Everyone we spoke to was friendly, helpful and worked incredibly hard. The hotel was always busy.
The pools were great although small for the amount of people and there was plenty to keep children entertained throughout the day. The evening entertainment was enjoyable and there was a good atmosphere around the hotel.
The food offered a good variety and we always found something to eat. The location is excellent, with shops, restaurants and the beach all within walking distance, although be aware there is quite a steep hill on the way back to the hotel which was tough in the heat we have had!
Our room was comfortable, spacious and fresh towels provided daily if requested. However, we often found that the bed sheets still felt sandy after the room had been made up, so it would have been nice if the bedding had been changed more frequently after beach days.
The hotel is a little dated in places and could benefit from some refurbishment. The restaurant and bar areas are modern and nicely presented, but the corridors and some of the communal areas are looking tired and would benefit from being updated.
The all-inclusive snack bar was a little disappointing. On several occasions it was left untidy, tables weren’t always cleared promptly, and food wasn’t topped up very often, which meant the choice could be quite limited between meal times.
The hotel was extremely busy during our stay, so the pool area could get crowded and sunbeds were in high demand. We were also visiting during a heatwave, so it was exceptionally hot, although that’s obviously outside the hotel’s control.
Overall, we had an enjoyable stay. The hardworking staff, good location and family-friendly atmosphere outweighed the negatives, and with a few improvements to the communal areas and snack service, this could easily be an even better hotel.
Great family holiday.
Great family hotel. We visited as a family in July (three generations.). If you want a quiet holiday this is not the place for you- the hotel is full of families and the noise level is high, however the children had an amazing holiday. The entertainment staff work tirelessly to give all the children a great time with lots of activities going on throughout the day. The nighttime entertainment is more for the children than the adults. The hotel rooms are basic but are kept very clean. The housekeeping staff work very hard. Bear in mind that most rooms don’t have a kettle although you can hire one from reception. The restaurant is very clean and there was a lot of choice as they cater for all tastes. The all inclusive option includes house wines, sangria, san Miguel and named spirits. There is also an all inclusive room where you can get snacks throughout the day. There are three pools (which are always full of children.) I agree with previous reviews that the sun beds need replaced. You can’t alter the back of them so it’s impossible to sit up and read a book. There is however a great beach five minutes walk away where you can hire a sunbed and parasol for 8 euros a day. The hotel location is great. There is a bus stop five minutes away with buses regularly going up and down tne coast. The beautiful marina is a 15 minute walk and well worth a visit with lots of shops and restaurants. The hotel is at the top of a steep hill but it’s not huge. Overall we had a really great family holiday and would really recommend this hotel. Thank you to all the staff for working so hard to make our stay great.
Another wonderful stay
My twin brother and I stayed in Medplaya Hotel Bali for nine nights ,our stay here was really good but we knew it would be as we've stayed here at least 10 times over the years. The hotel is superb, spotlessly clean, reception staff are really efficient and fun ,our twin room was really good, comfortable beds ,fridge, flat screen tv,lots of storage space, bath/ W.C again spotlessly clean and balcony offering great views and very relaxing,a great chill put area ,the swimming pools are also fantastic, we were half board and both breakfast and evening meals were delicious, big choice both hot and cold options,hotel bars were superb, beers exceptionally cold, totally delicious, location wise this hotel couldn't be better placed with both Bonanza Square and Ibensa Square within easy walking distances, there's also lots of pubs,bars and restaurants all around the hotel and beach is only a short walk away ,all in all its a great hotel,cant wait to stay here again next Summer.

A Fabulous Hotel
This has to be the friendliest hotel we have ever stayed in and for that reason we like to stay here around three times a year, From the moment you arrive you are not treated as guests but more like friends with the reception team headed by Stewart always giving us a warm welcome on arrival and do their utmost to ensure you have both an enjoyable and memorable holiday. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean by a hard working housekeeping team as are all the main areas of the hotel. The bar staff although extremely busy are very friendly and always give us a warm welcome back and show a genuine interest in everyone staying at the hotel. The restaurant offers a varied selection of food to satisfy all tastes and we never have any problem in finding something tasty to eat' The hotel is in the perfect location for us and please don't be out off by reviews mentioning the steep hill as it really isn't a problem. There is a very hard working Guest Manager Virginia who always greets you with a smile and will do her utmost to help with any questions you may have. All in all I have nothing but praise for this hotel and all the hard working team that are there and we are looking forward to our next stay in four weeks time.
family holiday
location is on a hill,(cardiac) which is not good if you have mobility issues.Rooms are small ok for 2 people (3 would be tight ) on storage.cleanliness ok didnt see any problem.can be very noisy at meal times,Breakfast english sausages was tasteless, fried eggs layed out on hotplate,and most morning breakfast was cold.main meal at night was repetitive,ask if they do ice cream for Lactose intolerance, but was told no. service at reception was hit and miss , depening who you got,(dont know the names ) the gentlemam with the goatee beard was great would do any thing for you But the man with the bald head, didnt really want to help with our problem to make phone call s on our behalf to the airport (his words was i have 200 people to book in) even though i was the only one standing there !!!! the sunbeds at the pool are so uncomfortable and OLD do not ajust i think they are the same ones when i was there 3 years ago. went to the bar and ask for 2 plastic glases with ice (wanted to take my medcation with my water) had to pay a euro for the both glases which i took back to the bar on which i was given a card, which i returned on the last day expecting the return of my euro but was told no,you dont get it back (ok i know a euro aint a lot but to me it a good earner for the hotel or bar staff 100 people do what i did soon made 100 euro,nice liittle earner del boy would love that ) would i return to this hotel no.
