Another amazing Ikos holiday..::this is our third Ikos holiday but the first time to Estepona. After staying at Porto Petro in June I thought that would be hard to beat but Andalusia was equally as fabulous, in different ways. Porto Petro is much larger with golf carts to get around the resort however here is much smaller. This actually was perfect for our family as it was convenient to meet up in restaurants and nip back to the room to freshen up from the amazing heat! We felt the food quality in the restaurants here slightly had the edge, especially the Asian fusion restaurant which is much smaller but feels more premium. The main bar is lovely with a view out to sea where you can watch the kite surfers on a windy day whilst sipping a glass of champagne as the sun goes down. Pilates on the yoga deck was a stunning start to the day before a beautiful breakfast (our favourite spot was the beach club) Our teenagers enjoyed the buffet whilst we elected for a quieter à la carte breakfast. Lunches were consistently lovely with free flowing wine and service with a smile.::the new beach restaurant was great and felt like you were in a bougie beachfront restaurant as opposed to a hotel. Michael the manager really looked after us and surprised us with a lovely bottle of champagne to celebrate our wedding anniversary whilst we were there. We made use of the shuttle bus to Puerto Banus and had a morning of retail therapy and loved the designer shops and yacht spotting! All in all a very successful holiday and we were all sad to leave, although our waistlines probably needed to leave. Thank you Michael and the team for your amazing hospitality. We will be back!
I would highly recommend this resort, the attention to detail is incredible which provides the ideal environment for a relaxing stress free holiday. The facilities were 1st class, the Heroes Kids club was ideal for our 8 year old son. We had not considered these clubs in the past as he is very shy but the staff were excellent and he asked to attend several of the sessions. The pools are idyllic and service to your lounger is excellent aplenty of staff asking if you need anything but you can also order via a QR code on the umbrella. There is a great variety of restaurants on site and we also took advantage of the dine out option at Casa Dona Jeronima, to which the hotel also provided transportation via bus. The rooms are spacious, with mini bars which are refilled daily and you get a turn down service, we upgraded to a seaview as it was a special occasion which added to the experience. It is not cheap but the service and quality of the food and drink was exceptional and the way it subtly caters for kids makes it a fantastic experience for all the family. In our opinion well worth the cost.
We absolutely love Ikos Andalusia and stay almost every year sometimes more than once! It’s a lovely location and the staff are wonderful. The resort is compact so you can easily reach everything. The food is fantastic and service is generally very good. We look forward to seeing the same staff every year more or less. chiringuito is our favourite lunch place although you have to get there before 1pm or the queue gets large! Olivia and Beach club were also very good this year. Olivia particularly had a great atmosphere with the evening entertainment. We felt Anaya and Provence had slipped in quality with Provence feeling a bit pre-prepared. Provence service was slow for us this time, and one meal we had to leave pretty much as mains came due to delays in service and kids ending up tired. Our children enjoyed the theatre shows and our oldest enjoyed kids club. The bikes are great and cycle route along the sea to estepona is something we usually do a few times over the week. Day trip wise with the mini, we generally head to Ronda, although this time we found a flight simulator nearby for our five year old in Puerto Banus who loved it! Our holiday experience was somewhat reduced by a faulty aircon in our one bedroom suite which was not fixed for most of the week despite a lot of messages and calls, it was our kids bedroom for our two boys (one an infant) that was impacted so we had to keep our door open all night to let the aircon from our room into their room which defeated the purpose of paying for two rooms.
They did try to make it up to us in a couple of small ways right at the end of the holiday which was nice at least to feel acknowledged at the end however it was a frustrating issue to have, especially when day by day it did not get rectified until two days before we left and we couldn’t see any progress happening/ we were not updated.
I have finally managed to review this wonderful hotel Ikos Andalusia! We have been 9 times, and have booked again this September! If you want a relaxing, easy to get too, fine food, and of course exceptional service this is a must for you. The main people that stand out for us are the Sommeliers, Athenasia, Juan Antonio, and the lovely Alicia , who with warmth and friendliness Knowledge and thought , served us wines to go with the restaurant we had chosen!! Other staff to mention are Darko, who looked after us at breakfast in Flavours, and then at the fabulous beach Tapas restaurant Chiringuito! Mohamed in lobby bar, Anita reception, Harry in the Beach club, and all the bar staff at the Cocktail Bar all deserve a mention! To round up, if you want a chilled, calm holiday , with great amenities , great restaurants, with wonderful staff the Ikos Andalusia is perfect.
We visited Ikos Andalusia in July as a family of six, and having previously stayed at another Ikos resort, we had high expectations — but this stay genuinely exceeded them.
The rooms were incredible: modern, spotlessly clean and extremely spacious. The pools were fantastic too, with plenty of sun loungers and a constant supply of refreshments from the pool staff, which made relaxing by the pool even more enjoyable.
The restaurants were superb and, in our opinion, even better than our previous experience at Ikos Aria a few years ago. There was a great choice, and the quality of the food and service throughout the resort was excellent. Our favourite was Anya and we managed to visit twice during our stay.
What really stood out to us, though, was the staff. Everyone was friendly, helpful and genuinely seemed to care about making our stay special. The reception team in particular could not have done more for us.
We also experienced some issues with our transfer company, which we had booked independently and not through Ikos. The reception team were incredibly helpful in making sure our return transfer was arranged and that everything went as smoothly as possible. Their help gave us real peace of mind, and on our next visit we will definitely book our transfers directly through Ikos.
Our four-year-old daughter has cerebral palsy, so accessibility and ease of getting around are particularly important for our family. Ikos went above and beyond to make things as accessible and straightforward as possible for us. This made such a difference and allowed us to enjoy a genuinely stress-free holiday as a family. It is also a major reason why we would consider returning in the future — and that says a lot, as we very rarely visit the same hotel twice!
The only downside for us was the number of bikes left around the resort. In the evenings, some children were cycling quite quickly around the hotel grounds, which at times felt dangerous, particularly with people walking around in the dark in the evenings. I feel this could perhaps be better managed.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend Ikos Andalusia. From the beautiful rooms and excellent food to the outstanding service and, most importantly for us, the care and accessibility provided for our daughter, it was a truly memorable holiday.
A huge thank you to the whole Ikos Andalusia team for making our family holiday so special.
