Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
If I could use one word to summarise the stay it would be disappointing.
This is a very large resort with very few pools to cater for the volume of rooms/guests it has and certainly not enough sunbeds.
On arrival, the spare bed wasn't even made even though we had 4 on the booking. When you're arriving late at night, the mast thing you want to have to do is make a bed.
It's not a suitcase friendly resort as its all built in hills with lots of steps, no ramps, which made it very difficult trying to get up to your room on day 1.
Rooms were OK, but very dated, and you dont get them cleaned unless you're staying a minimum of 4 nights so beware.
Also shops in the hotel are very expensive so if you have a car, go to the local lidl or mercadona.
Also parking is very limited so unless you're prepared to park miles away, get back early.
Overall stay wasn't great and certainly wouldn't stay here again or recommend to others.
Lovely complex, very clean and well maintained. Excellent amenities. Very friendly staff. Will definitely visit again
If you book different room types here, be ready to wait outside for hours! I booked a 3-night stay with a room change. They made me leave my room early in the morning. Then, they did not give me my new room until late afternoon. They used hotel rules as an excuse and made a staying guest wait for hours. No flexibility and no hospitality. If you plan to change rooms during your stay, remember this problem!
So we went with 3 kids, 16/13/10. Our stay was great. 2 bed apartment was spot on. Aircon worked well but my brother who came with his family had the same apartment and the Aircon didn’t work. They were given portable units but they were so loud. Customer service weren’t too great dealing with it to be honest.
Pools were ok, the one we were told to use was very deep, seems like a pointless comment but everyone congregated at the end where you could stand up and didn’t use the rest of it (2m9cm). But it did the job. Only downside is there weren’t enough sunbeds but you just have to be ruthless and remove towels if they haven’t been there for a while. The lifeguards support this and it is the resort rules. The Wyndham side pools were better and bigger.
The train around the site was very slow and stopped for ages at most stops. Surely the point is to get people round the resort promptly? Defo just walk , it only takes 10 mins from one end of resort to the other.
A great location, taxis’s to fuengirola are around €12. We used Uber which worked great! But Mijas (Playa La Cala) is closer and far nicer. The beach there was amazing and sunbeds were $7.50 for the day. Far nicer in the evenings but just not as big.
We found some restaurants in Fuengirola which were worth a visit but it is a bit like Benidorm…Playa la Cala all the way.
We also got the train to Malaga for an evening, train was €8 return each , took about 40 Mins but is defo worth it! Malaga is lovely! Defo would like to go there in the future. Trains were on time, clean and fast.
The safari restaurant on site was nice and Zacs for lunchtime lighter snacks was great.
There was a shop just next to the resort that is far cheaper than the ones on the resort. It opened and 0915 and closed at 1700.
All in all, would defo recommend the resort.
I cannot recommend this resort. The reviews are extremely mixed and, having now stayed there, I believe that’s because the quality of the accommodation varies dramatically.
We paid extra for what we believed would be a superior room but were “upgraded” to a dated apartment that looked nothing like the modern accommodation shown in the promotional photos. The apartment had an overwhelming damp smell that was so bad we didn’t unpack our suitcases because we were worried our clothes would absorb it. One member of our family has asthma and another suffers from migraines, so masking the smell with industrial air freshener wasn’t a solution.
The safe also didn’t work despite staff attending to it, meaning we had to carry our valuables with us throughout the holiday.
We asked to move on day one but were told nothing was available and never received the promised call from the manager. After three nights, we discovered multiple large cockroaches throughout the apartment, including in the bedrooms and bedsheets. We were again told there were no rooms available and offered fumigation while our belongings remained inside the apartment, which wasn’t acceptable to us.
It was only after escalating the matter to easyJet and the hotel’s Instagram team that another apartment suddenly became available. By then, four days of a five-night holiday had already been ruined. EasyJet were excellent throughout, but we should never have been put in that position.
There was also drilling outside our apartment while workmen installed air conditioning units next door, making it difficult to relax. We were only allowed to use two swimming pools out of many (and these were the less appealing ones with rubbish sunbeds). The location is such that it’s expensive to get to the local towns to eat and there isn’t a great atmosphere onsite or much entertainment.
The complimentary breakfast, bottle of cava and written apology was appreciated, but it did not compensate for spending most of our holiday in accommodation that fell far below expectations.
I’ve never previously made a formal holiday complaint or requested a room move, so this isn’t something I do lightly. My advice is simple: book with caution as the photos on the website did not reflect the accommodation we received. EasyJet have taken my complaint seriously so improvements might happen, but the inconsistency in room quality makes staying here a gamble I wouldn’t take again.
