I had the worst experience. I came to Alanda for a short trip with my family. The room was not cleaned, the staff was very rude and it was impossible to get any service...
We ordered room service for breakfast and it took them 3 hours to deliver the food with cold pancakes and coffee. The reception and the manager does not even care about the guest experience. This is NOT a 5-star hotel. Tiny, dirty rooms, terrible service.
The hotel is well located close to the Old Town, the beach and Puerto Banus which was ideal for what we wanted.
The hotel was still under renovation when we stayed last week with the pool area still being constructed although it was useable at the other end of the pool area there was work going on to build a glass fence, it would have been nice to know this before we booked. Our room was nice and big but again the bathroom floor was damaged due to water leakage from the shower and the toilet did not work at first and for the whole trip it was dripping but apparently they fixed it the best they could (a plummer would have solved the issue)...
The service itself was very poor for a supposed 5 star hotel, we had to phone reception to ask for our room to be made up as it hadn't been done by 6pm the first day we stayed there, when by the pool nobody came to check if you wanted a drink or food and you had to fetch your own towels. I appreciate its not a hardship to do so but if you say you are a 5 star hotel then have a service level of a 5 star hotel.
Overall its not a bad hotel but its not a 5 star hotel
the hotel is not bad, the rooms are fresh, still smells of renovation. The pool is small and the beach is not far away. the breakfast is delicious and varied...
In the evening at the hotel you will not be able to eat deliciously. besides everything the hotel is "non-alcoholic". food to order is carried for a long time and brought cold. the hotel corresponds to 4 stars.
Nice and clean hotel with very good parking space. Perfect if you want a cheaper alternative compared to eg Nobu Hotel across the road. Easy access to beach and all the places closer to the sea...
I will probably come back. (Note: no alcohol at this hotel but there are plenty of alternatives close by.)
I booked an event at the beautifully decorated Manuka Restaurant & had wonderful service from Carlos Ocana. The staff were very attentive & provided great service. Manuka menu choice is health conscious eating, using the best ingredients...
We will return for future events.
