Nothing special

The hotel is in a good condition, which is quite an exception with Kempinski hotels. Unfortunately, most Kempinski hotels are in a very bad condition. This hotel is very nice, we rented the Bahia suite. It is a very beautiful and big suite...

It also has a generously big balcony. Unfortunately, the service doesn't match the 5 star standard at all. With the exception of the cleaning service, which was above standard. The rest of the services were very bad. You have to fight for everything. We found many things in the rate, but in reality nothing was provided for us. These top suites have a cabana on the beach, including water and a fruit platter free of charge. And what is the reality? I came to the cabana, ordered the complimentary water and fruit platter and received a bill for 16 Euro. Every single day! And everyday, I told them that the water and fruit platter are included in the price. "Yes, sir" they said and canceled the bill. Can the manager of the hotel please explain to me why I have to beg everyday for something that is included in my rate? Could you please provide training to all your employees? It's not that complicated. A special mention is the dry cleaning service. We had 2 pieces for dry cleaning included in our rate. In the beginning, it worked well, but then we started receiving the clothing after 2 or 3 days. In the end, we got to know that they were sending some of the clothes to an external dry cleaning service, where they have problems with the staff. The result - my wife's Agent Provocateur pajamas were ruined - brand new, for 400 Euros. We also reported this to the reception and according to their instructions, sent it on 28th of June to the address reception.estepona@kempinski.com. Since they ignored it, we sent it (as platinum members) to the lady in red Bianca Stegenova to the adress bianca.stegenova@kempinski.com and she ignored us again. Today is 7th of August and even after a six weeks, we have not received any response at all. Five star hotel? What a joke. It's actually 3 stars. And I am very, very polite.

First class!

Review by bluebeaver71 Hertfordshire

Gorgeous hotel and grounds. We loved our stay at the end of a week journeying around Andalucia. A great place to kick back for a few days...

Kids loved it too. The rooms were beautiful, pool fab and the beach was great too. Would love to have stayed longer.

Fantastic hotel !!

Review by juan camilo m London, United Kingdom

Had the most amazing holiday with my family. My 7 year old son loved it and really loved the kids club, they had interesting activities to keep him busy every day and he was really happy, the kids club staff were fantastic. The drinks and cocktails at the bar were perfect, lavish breakfast and exquisite meat at Baltazar...

The concierge and staff at the door were extremely attentive and helpful all the time, helping us get taxis to go to the city and with great recommendations of where to go in town to eat and visit. Reception team were great and flexible with check out. Beautiful rooms, gardens, restaurants and common areas, everything very clean and well maintained.

I will definetely come back here for holidays

A wonderful week!

Review by Lynnpatricia Bishops Stortford, United Kingdom

We returned to this hotel for a week at the end of June/beginning of July and we’re very pleased we did. We could not have asked for more. The relaxed atmosphere, discreet and charming service and top class facilities make it a great choice for those who want to enjoy a chilled time but still be able to dip in and out of the bright lights of Marbella. Our room on the 6th floor was large & very comfortable with a nice garden/sea view...

Our only comment would be that it was lacking sunshine on the balcony. Housekeeping was great. We enjoyed our days around the pools. No rushing up to reserve sunbeds here, they are plentiful with sun umbrellas & on soft, carpet like grass. Food and drinks are served to the sunbeds and the Haagen Daas ice cream cabin is a great idea. We were disappointed that Baltazar was not open during our stay but Spiler beach restaurant is excellent with a varied menu and great service. The sardines & boquerones starter ‘special’ was delicious.
Breakfast had all the hallmarks of a Kempinski buffet - loads of variety, excellent quality, plentiful and with great service. We wish you a great summer Kempinski and we will return.

NOT FOR US!

Review by Gems83xx London, United Kingdom

We picked the KEMPINSKI hotel as we were only in Estepona for a few days as we were attending a wedding there and the location worked well. We went with our 2 kids ages 4 1/2 and 3.

Bad points

  • the swimming pool is FREEZING
  • the floor around the swimming pool is extremely slippery both my children hurt themselves several times- it really upset me and as a result we stayed away from the pool. The “childrens pool” isn’t for children - it’s cold and deep- so you can’t relax at all!! The sunbeds has bird poo on Service didn’t start till 11am and when it did it was hard to locate someone.. The beach area is horrible - all stones The restaurant - is reasonable, but pricy! The bath in the room was either burning hot or cold - temperamental Breakfast was pretty poor! Limited buffet and birds land on your table and eat your food! The kids club was pretty poor. Nice staff but not what It should be! - needs improving and more staff!!!!

Good points

The room was ok, well kept, clean The staff were friendly and nice - this was very good! The hotel was clean There is only one 5 seater cab in Estepona so be ready to use Ubers.

This is certainly not a hotel for families with small kids- there’s nothing for them to do, a nice swimming pool and beach is a huge factor when choosing a hotel- to have a freezing pool which causes accidents when you enter or exit is not for me at all!!!!!
