Great service, location, restaurant choices, convenience

Review by James M Cheltenham, United Kingdom

Everybody was very helpful in the hotel reception, restaurants, beach, pool, bars etc and they were all really close and convenient access to use. It was a short walk to local restaurants, beaches and the main town. Hotel room was nice and big, would of been nice to have a sea view, hopefully next time.

Great break away from covid

Review by H1231HAmikeb

Our family of four had a very restful week at the hotel in August We found the position of the hotel idealic, for both visiting the town of Marbella and enjoying the local beach bars The amenities including the pool were great, ideally situated for eating in the three separate restaurants, which provided a good variety of different types of food The service at the hotel was excellent, with everything being cleaned on a regular basis I am already looking forward to returning one day

Another great stay

Review by Belinda S Puerto Banus, Spain

This was our 4th visit and once again we were delighted with our stay. All staff are very friendly and efficient.the buffet breakfast is an excellent quality with plenty of choice and it’s always nice to be able to eat this outside. We had dinner on 3 nights including the IlDivo and Rat pack tribute nights - the entertainment was great and as we have always found the food was delicious...

The hotel was very clean throughout and we felt Covid safe. The bedrooms are a little tired but very clean and maintained well. The wifi was not so good but we were assured this was going to be sorted. We look forward to our return visit in September and hopefully better wifi.

Hotel has sadly gone downhill in its standards

Review by UKTINKER72 Hereford

I had stayed at the Guadalpin a few years ago, and had a fantastic stay, however I am surprised at how the standards have falled.

The Guadalpin is a very expensive hotel in the area, where I paid ~£200 per night for a single room. The room was very tired and in desperate need of renovation with holes in the walls and the bathroom showing extreme signs of wear and tear.

Drink prices at the bar have also increased to €7 for a small beer in the pool bar. The pool had significant amounts of black mold around the pool bar.

Breakfast is still good in the hotel, however even though there are small numbers of guests when i stayed, the staff were very over worked, especially at the omelette bar.

I am always sympathetic of the service a hotel provides, but with the Guadalpin being one of the most expensive hotels in the area, this is simply not acceptable.
