Amazing hotel

Review by Zoabella87 Swindon, United Kingdom

I love this hotel have been to this hotel 3 times now, they do a great selection of food, it’s all ways been clean, staff are always friendly, it’s a beautiful walk in to town or no more than €4 in a taxi to town, we never book transfer from airport as it’s only about €14 in a taxi. They provide towels for the room, they are spacious rooms, always some sort of entertainment even for the adults around the pool, my self and my hubby are heading back in February for 9 days and I can not wait!!

Could of been better with the circumstances!

Review by aaliyab0

Stayed here for 7 nights. Started off self catering! We went to reception to get a taxi booked which always showed up within 2-5 minutes - very good! Had a shower and bath in our room - hot water straightaway! On arrival - given an information sheet on the hotel (service opening hours, housekeeping days/times, renting equipment, wifi etc.) very helpful! First night - asked to move rooms as came back from dinner in the town and an ants nest was on the bedside table and in the bed sheets! Dealt with it quick and well! Fifth night - hotel on lockdown due to fear of Coronavirus! Told if we went outside we would be Made to pay €100 to become all inclusive for two days (didn’t bother for day of flying) Pool bar shut, pool closed, was told to stay in rooms and not allowed around the pool area, sun beds chained up, inflatables taken away, resort supermarket closed(made it very difficult for self catering residents to get food and drink) and takeaway drinks only! Only allowed to the cafeteria for breakfast, lunch and dinner. When we went to complain about the ability to get drinks on an ‘all inclusive’ hotel, the receptionist told my partner and I to separate and stand at least 3 metres apart!! Erm? Considering we are sharing a hotel room together - I don’t think so...

Last evening there, my partner and I wanted to have dinner and finish off with a drink at our table as it was the last dinner on our holiday... we got chucked out of the cafeteria at 19:30 when the dinner hours were 18:30-21:30. Completely unimpressed and felt quite disrespected. Food was good - buffet. Overall, we would come back to this country for a holiday, hotel wasn’t the worst, but would probably seek into staying somewhere else.

Wonderful

Review by mrshuk2015 Chester, United Kingdom

Upon arrival the hotel had suffered a loss of hot water. The hotel went above and beyond to try and make our holiday the best it could be. The staff were great...

So friendly and helpful. Will return next year.

Terrible food

Review by heatherwhitworth Crawley, United Kingdom

The Hotel is ok, quite basic, and not great for storing clothing, unless you can hang things, as the wardrobe is enormous, although you would need more hangers than those provided. Drawer space is not great, once you have unpacked underwear, there is no room for t shirts, or normal drawer clothing. It is very clean, and spacious...

Normal safe protocols, ask on reception, and pay €2 per day, plus €10 deposit which .you get back when checking out. The pool area is lovely, but no toilets nearby. You need to go to your room for the toilet, or up to the bar area, more stairs! I would also say there is an abundance of stairs, we had three flights to our room, not accessible by lift, as were most rooms. Just hope when you check in you are not on the third floor! There is a lift to the dining area, or again stairs, as it is on the second floor, the food is well presented, but tasteless, and quite repetitive especially Goat, which appeared more than twice within our weeks stay. Three times we decided to eat elsewhere as there is local bars, thankfully doing food. Italian night was dreadful, with macaroni cheese, without the cheese, cannelloni which was a Bain Marie full of cheesey slop, having to fish about for empty pasta tubes. Didn’t see much in the way of vegetarian meals, just vegetables, which were not very inviting. Desserts were virtually the same every day, a set blancmange type thing in a glass dish, or a sponge effort with no taste. Thankfully there was a freezer full of ice cream in small tubs, which were very good. The bar outside by the pool was pleasant, and had snacks available from early on, starting with cheese and ham rolls, or cheese and tomato, wrapped in cling film. Then at 1500 once the restaurant closed the snacks turned to the same thing every day, toasted sandwiches, burgers, hotdogs, and chips.
Drinks are usual all inclusive non branded spirit, and local beer, which is expected. The free bus is handy, but only stops at other Hotels. It says takes you into the local town of Caleta De Fuste, but the nearest stop is at the Elba Antigua, and you need to walk into Town, which is around 10 minutes. Not far, but a little deceiving, as we had no idea where we were going. The Saturday Market is ok, with lots of leather goods, and clothing, and a huge amount of Michael Kors knock offs. The bus does not stop anywhere near the Market, so be prepared for a short hike. We did walk into town from the Hotel, along the coast, where the chipmunks run up to you for any food. Take bread if you decide to go. They are quite entertaining. We had a nice break, the weather was great, food a big let down, and the entertainment a bit non existent. The bar is under the dining area, so you are climbing stairs up and down throughout your stay. I think it would be a nightmare for a wheelchair user, as the lifts do not access all floors, and although there are slopes the immediate area surrounding the hotel is very rugged, even the pavements. Not going to return any time soon
