The Globes Costa Tropical Hotel is ideally located in Costa Antigua near the beach of Playa del Castillo which is just over a mile away. There is a complimentary shuttle bus to the shopping centre to the shopping centre & the sandy beach at Caleta de Fuste. Also within easy reach is the beautiful resort of Caleta de Fuste which is full of shops, restaurants & bars.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, my wife and I decided to take a break and I’m so pleased we did. Having read some of the reviews, we were a little dubious but we really shouldn’t have been. The hotel was in a perfect location for us...
Nice and quiet with a few little bars and restaurants within 5 minutes walk and a taxi into town is only 4 euros. We walked into town every morning either along the sand track or the coastal routes. Both ways took no more than 25 mins and offer beautiful scenery. The hotel itself is very clean with a huge pool. We didn’t eat there but the selection of drinks throughout the day were great. Room was great with a separate bedroom, bathroom and living area with TV showing many English channels. The main resort, Calata De Fuste is lovely however, due to the pandemic, many places were closed but we were able to find some lovely restaurants and bars still open. Special mention to Fado Rock, The Great Wall, Pizzaloha and The British Corner. We’ve been to Fuerteventura on 4 occasions, 3 times to Corralejo but we’d say this was definitely our DWP favourite place and will definitely return soon. Thank you for a great holiday.
It certainly felt safer in Fueruventura than it did in the UK. We were sad to return to the UK. Covid regulations were upheld fantastically...
Sanitiser everywhere and masks in crowded spaces. The Hotel is very accomodating and if you have an issue please let them know. If they dont know they cant help you. Beautiful salt water pool ( which is quite deep) and not too warm but the weather was great which made the cool welcome. The food was serves as opposed to help yourself ue to covid> we never went hungry and there was always plenty fo choice for fussy eaters Sadly not a lot of entertainment but this must have been hampered by Covid. Lots of little shops / bars within a few minutes walk and Caletta de Fusta just a ten minute taxi / bus ride away. Would highly recommend GOGO TOURS if you want to see the beautiful island at its best. We had a fab time.. Would deffo go back
Arrived at hotel 2 days after they opened. We stayed in a bungalow which has two floors tbh it could do with a refurb however we weren't expecting to spend alot of time in the room so wasn't too bothered, it was clean so cant moan to much.. no aircon so night time was horrendous! Room cleaned and fresh towels when needed. Pool is great....
freezing but lovely in the heat ! Start of holiday there were plenty of sunbeds, however half way through the stay more tourists came and i am ashamed to admit i became a towel on the sunbed hogger ! You had too other wise you couldn't get one till late afternoon! Food hmmm not the best but they have a great salad bar. Bread. Chips the usual crap they give you at an all inclusive. They serve you the food and will tell you too move back if you get too close. Masks must be worn in all enclosed areas but can be removed once sat down at table. Drinks were great they are not shy with the vodka. However, evening time one bar man so ages to wait due to social distancing. But, we found a great bar down the road .. friendly locals and cheap drinks. Unfortunately due to covid the local town did not have many places open and steets were closed off ! Didn't go to the beach as was too far away bit disappointed. Dont forget to pack plenty of masks €600 fine if you are with out which the lady in the airport told us as soon as we arrived!! Happy holidays!!!! Lol !!! If you have teenager's they may be bored not alot to do there as no entertainment and local water park is closed like alot of the attractions. Dont think i would return to this hotel not because it was terrible just there is not alot to do in evening times.
So travelling during covid we knew it would be different, in fairness they did manage it pretty well. They took our temp on arrival and sent us to our bungalow which OK wasn't the best maintained however with the kids was perfect to have a separate room!!! Your expected to wear a mask in communal areas but other then that it's OK. The pool was freezing and salt water 😏 the sun lounger situation was gettin silly so they started locking them up which was loads better...
The beach is about a 20min walk away across a dirt track or a good 45 min walk along the cliffs which is lovely. The atmosphere at night wasn't the best so found ourselves goin out a lot mainly due to no entertainment I feel. The food as always is samey but they served you quickly. Probably wouldn't av enjoyed it if it was full tbh as not sure how they would even slightly have coped
Review based on the room I was given due to a flight delay. Would not recommend staying here. Dated and shabby. Could hear person in next apartment snoring too. Marks on towels and bedding...
Marks on kitchen drawers, broken wardrobe glass and all chopped paint work. Stained bathroom floor.
Breakfast wasn’t impressive neither.
Receptionist did temp test on everyone but then expected solo travellers to share 🤣
