Just 10 minutes away on foot from this beautiful property lies to the town of Corralejo. This town was once a delightful fishing village which has now become a popular tourist hot spot due to diverse culture, sandy beaches and endless opportunities for activities such as kite surfing and water-sports.
This review is super late as we stayed in August 2019 and it has been on my to- do list to leave a positive review! We are an early 30s couple, we needed to book last minute and found Suite Atlantis a perfect option for a nice all inclusive.
There is a beach within walking distance and the walk into town is easy, with nice bars on the seafront we particularly liked Reef Club. If you want a change of scenery...
We also got the hotel bus service to grandas playas which was a great option for a bigger beach.
It was only our second all inclusive hotel visit and I was very impressed with every aspect. Our room was lovely and big and had a quiet balcony.
It was fun to see the kid's club entertainment sometimes. but the set up also allows couples to choose areas further from the kids pool and has a separate adults only area in the restaurant which worked well for us.
The food choice was extraordinary in my view, fantastic seafood, options of various restaurants, different choices everyday, some cooked to order. Always really nice and the restaurants never felt overcrowded or understocked. The bar and disco were often quieter later on as families went to bed, but fun all the same with plenty of friendly and generous bar staff! The entertainment was often in the theatre and not intrusive, so you could choose if it was your kinda thing!
All the staff were lovely, the grounds and gardens were so clean and beautifully kept and staff would always greet you good morning walking to breakfast. It sounds small but on holiday you have time to appreciate the little things and hospitality is all in those little details.
We can highly recommend the Catamaran trip with Fuertecharter, we loved the snorkelling and a half day was a brilliant adventure on the boat. The staff were brilliant and we always felt safe and well cared for. They take loads of go pro photos for you which was brilliant! A great treat for when we got home to download them all, a perfect souvenir.
I really should have got around to this review sooner as we so loved our week at Suite Atlantis, I would highly recommend it to families or couples looking for a chilled out, good quality, all inclusive. Thank you for a lovely stay x
Stayed for one week. Hotel is nice and good for both adults wanting no hassle and families that need the entertainment and upbeat holiday.
The food is just ok which lets the place down. It also needs an update...
The local area is very run down. It must have been hit bad by recession.
It's about 15 mins or so outside ow it was recently bought over so maybe they plan on investment.
There where a number of other hotels nearby that where more modern and better value so I would assume they will act otherwise they will lose customers.
Island is run down not sure if this is normal? It reminded me of the Greek islands now adays that lack any investment and struggle. Let's hope this can change.
We stayed here as a family of two adults and a 2 yr old from 8 March - 18 March 2020. This is our fourth family holiday.
We enjoyed it and couldn’t really fault the hotel. Observations are below:
Food The food in the main buffet was great, never once struggled to find something...
Good variety and we tried lots of different dishes. The desserts were good too. The only suggestion I would make is to have all the coffee machines in use at breakfast, with a 2yr old I don’t want to trek across the dining room to get coffee, I want to use the machine next to us but this is really a minor snag. The food was that good in the main buffet we only ate in the Asian restaurant twice which was also really good. We ate in the resort once and we both felt the hotel food was better than what was on offer in the main resort and we normally eat out several times on holiday. Alcoholic drinks were good too and I don’t think we ever really queued.
Hotel facilities The hotel is very large and there are several pools but we mainly stayed at the kids pools which were excellent- one at hip height which was perfect for toddlers and the other was shallower for babies. The kids facilities here are probably the best we’ve seen, our toddler loved the play park which had loads of sand to play in and the kids club house was excellent, I took my daughter there every morning for a couple of hours and although she was too young to leave they had loads of toys/balls/ blocks etc to play with. The kids disco was also great. We mainly interacted with the kids animation team who were all excellent.
There was a large football/ basketball court and when it was quiet we used to run around it with our daughter to tire her out. We both used the gym and it would have been helpful if the gym was opened earlier as we like to work out before breakfast and 9am doesn’t really allow for a good work out for the both of us before breakfast.
Location So this was a deal breaker for us. We picked this hotel specifically because of its location to the beach which is really important when you have young children. However the beach was rocky and not accessible with a pram. The coastal “path” was not a path at all but rather a strip of sand which would have been lovely if we didn’t have a pram so we couldn’t use the beach and this was an issue for us.
The hotel is about 20 minutes walk from the centre of Corralejo and the surrounding streets were pleasant. I went running early mornings and felt safe.
We hired a car and explored the mountains and coastal towns and visited a couple of beaches elsewhere. It’s definitely worth exploring the island as it’s beautiful.
Oasis Park So glad we did this. An excellent day out for kids. Saw lots of animals, got really close to the giraffes and the food was very reasonably priced.
Staff The staff were brilliant- you can really tell there is a strong customer focused culture here. No issues at all, they were all cheerful and helpful.
The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and really well maintained and we never saw any mess. Our room was spotless and our maid was fast as lightening and very thorough.
Pandemic So we were due to fly home on Wednesday 18 but on Saturday 14th Spain declared a state of emergency and announced lockdown from Sunday. We flew with Jet2 who turned their Spain bound flights around during the state of emergency declaration as they knew any passengers would not be allowed out of their hotels and could become stranded. They also maintained all planned flights until a week after the lockdown meaning that people could still get home as planned for that week and after that date they would need to book onto a rescue flight home. Our rep (Allison) was amazing and visited the hotel more frequently to ensure she was accessible. We were advised not to go out from Saturday for our own safety and I felt we were really looked after by jet2.
However I was totally disgusted with Eastjet, Ryanair and Airlingus who were still flying people into the island despite the fact they had cancelled their planned return flights. There were reports that they were in effect forcing people to get on the flight in the uk by telling them they wouldn’t get a refund if they refused to fly out! One guest was really upset that they had arrived on Sunday and couldn’t leave the hotel. These air lines cancelled all of their planned return flights with immediate effect and requested passengers book onto a rescue flight via the internet which sounds straightforward until you think many of the guests are elderly and not experienced with the internet and the easyJet site kept crashing so some of these people were very distressed. I will never use easyJet/ Ryanair/ airlingus for my family holiday after seeing how they treated people.
I was really impressed with how the hotel managed this. The hotel Public Relations Manager (think his name was Thomas) was out talking to guests every day, he was so visible and accessible at this time. I frequently observed him approaching guests to ask if they were ok, did they need anything, had they contacted their travel agent/flight company, helping people secure alternative flights etc. I felt that elderly and vulnerable people were being looked after by the hotel but not by easyJet/Ryanair/airlingus.
The last two days we were only allowed to leave our room for food, all the hotel facilities were closed and they gave us full tv channels. They had obviously cut staff and the remaining staff were all lovely even though they were probably going to be laid off and they must have been worried for their future earnings and their families. I felt a lot of sympathy for them. They were excellent and when things are going well it’s easy to provide good service but it’s when there’s an emergency that you need to be able to count on staff maintaining this level of service and more and from what I saw they all delivered in this. I felt looked after during this time.
Overall I enjoyed our stay here, if I didn’t need the beach I would definitely return here, maybe when our daughter is older we will be back and given the crisis situation I feel that we were well looked after and supported by both the hotel and Jet2.
Sorry this review is a bit late, we got back home last Month, just as the lock down was starting. This hotel is amazing, when we arrived the reception staff were so friendly and helpful, check in was very quick and we were given a lot of information about the hotel, a very pleasant man Hoasi, sorry possible wrong spelling he took us and our luggage by cart to our suite, great bedroom and sitting room overlooking the adults only pool. Very clean and extremely comfortable king-size bed...
The rooms are spread out over a large area. There are 4 restaurants including the one in the adults only section. After 2 days of we decided to upgrade to the premium section which is adults only. This was the best regards decision. The premium section is in a separate area and for adults only, this area has its own pool with sun loungers be with comfortable cushions and a pool bar serving drinks and food. Also in the premium section you can use the waiter service restaurant and the food was delicious and waiters great. The main buffet restaurant also had a section for adults only, food in here mostly good but I did have to use the microwave often to heat the Luke warm food but there was a great choice to suite everyone. There is a few bars open at various times and because we were all inclusive we did use these. We met a lovely couple Mickey and Stella on our first week and we enjoyed our evenings in the bar in the reception having a few drinks. There are a few pools scattered throughout the hotel grounds of and there were is always plenty of sun beds available, the hotel was not full so nowhere was crowded. The staff are all amazing and we loved staying at this hotel and would not hesitate to recommend this brilliant hotel to all our friends and family.
We returned for the fourth time to stay at the Atlantis (11-18 March) in the Premium area in the week that coincided with the start of the lockdown which meant for the last three days of our holiday we were largely confined to our rooms.
The first part of the holiday was everything we knew it would be - great room, pool facilities and restaurants. As always the staff were friendly and providing great service with special mention to Diego in the adults only evening bar...
As things became difficult with the start of the lockdown and the restrictions they faced, the levels of service didn’t drop and the kitchen staff also managed to provide a good choice of dishes.
Guest services manager Thomas was a reassuring voice and kept cheery in difficult times so we were aware of what restrictions had been put in place.
We already have plans to return again next March.
