We had an all inclusive package deal at the resort. On arrival our bags were removed from the car and taken to the lobby by the concierge ready to transfer to our rooms. Reception was large and well manned we were seen immediately we arrived. We were also offered a glass of Cava each. After registration we were shown to our junior suite which was fully air conditioned and also had a ceiling fan. It has a large balcony overlooking the pool area. The bathroom had a double sink which was very helpful. On the downside there was no mirror in the seating/bedroom area so if you wanted to use straighteners etc you had to try and use the wardrobe mirror. The hotel had three pools in total two on the ground floor and one on the rooftop by the very large and well equipped spa. There was never a shortage of sun beds in the pool area. There were also plenty of beds and windbreakers on the beach. No need to rush in the mornings to get your favourite spot! Towels for use in the beach or by the pool were plentiful. Drinks were served all day by the very pleasant and friendly staff so again no need to move. They were also known brands of drinks. The resort had several restaurants which served a variety of foods- all included in the package. Our favourites were the Japanese and the fish bar on the beach( unfortunately this only opened on certain days) there was a wide selection of foods if you preferred the buffet option. The only issue I had in the buffet was that sometimes the staff didn’t pay enough attention to serving drinks- one small glass in wine then nothing. Evening entertainment was normally a local singer/ musician. If you wanted something more lively there were local bars and clubs around to visit. Overall a very pleasant and relaxing stay. I would thoroughly recommend this resort for anyone who wants to unwind
A wonderful hotel. We have stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it. The facilities are excellent. The food is exceptional- far too much to choose from sometimes. The a la carte restaurants are also very good - portions are though large! We have used the spa and gym daily to try to counteract the food! The staff are very attentive and happy and felt thoroughly looked after. The room is also large with a wonderful sea view.
Only slight down for the week was the piers being closed due to recent storm damage but that couldn’t be helped.
We are definitely planning to return and would highly recommend.
We're back at the Bahia and now it's a Hyatt Inclusive Secrets hotel. Has that made a difference? Unfortunately yes. Note the Inclusive name means that it's an all inclusive option place and the quality has dipped in every area. The spa, in places looks tired with several mosaic tiles missing in the pools and steam room especially. There's no one to meet and greet in the breakfast area or she consistently is hiding, this wouldn't be an issue but as a coeliac couple it matters. Why? Because the GF offering has gone backwards with the training of the cooks poor. There is a GF dedicated stand but v limited choice and no cereals, the nuts and seeds area is mixed in with the gluten cereals so way too risky. You cannot have anything cooked as there is only two stations and they cook pancakes on one and the omelette/ poached area is hilariously badly cross contaminated, clearly they know but don't care as we asked them said we can't do anything about it The beach bar closed, although I have never known it open The sugar reef closed. the a la carte restaurants booked full every night unless you book a week in advance, reports say overpriced anyway so maybe we missed nothing. Rooms have been refreshed with new paint and furnishings but bathrooms looking tired and battered in places We have pointed all this out to the staff who are lovely but they shrug and say they'll tell the management who will no doubt reply to this post with the usual platitudes and excuses. It's a shame that the Hyatt Secrets brand seems focused on cost not quality, they refurbished after covid but not to a five star standard. And all this for $£€ 250 a night, Location great but the derelict half built hotels next door and at the front are still here after 20 years! The place does have plenty going for it but come on guys, stop the slide into mediocre.
Beautiful resort - spacious room with great balcony overlooking the sea so we could hear the waves all the time. Fantastic breakfast - loads of choice Lovely staff - always friendly and helpful Restaurants nearby - a short taxi ride
Superb spa
Ate in hotel in evening once - food ok - glad we weren’t all inclusive!
Excellent hotel in a great location on a lovely island, what more can I say A big thank you to Jet2, for the organisation of the holiday and superb private transfers and an excellent rep in Derek who was in touch several times throughout the holiday Very friendly and efficient staff especially Katy and Slavi who helped to change rooms for us when we had a small problem with ants and a dodgy tv reception. The new room was great Food was plentiful with lots of choice, it is a 5* so prices are not cheap but good The views are superb and compare with our time in the Caribbean, lovely sea and tremendous weather I remember seeing this hotel built and it has taken me a long time to visit but the wait was worth it
