We’ve been on holiday in Fuerteventura in July and we’ve choose this hotel were we felt safe. The staff was nice and friendly, all the COVID 19 measures were in place and respected by all the people staff and tourists. If we will go back in Fuerteventura we will choose the same hotel definitely.
Don't know where to start really, the hotel is actually beautiful, nice big pool, little kids pool and quiet pool, the rooms are spacious and look fab, WiFi was great too, however my disappointment comes with the all inclusive, the queues are terrible, never have I had to wait so long to sit down in an all inclusive restaurant and then also queue for your food, over the 14 nights we stayed we ate in the restaurant roughly 7/8 days as it was terrible, worst one was 30 mins wait to get it and then easy 20mins to get served, you will queue up at least 2 of your 3 meals if your lucky (most of the time every meal) very very basic food, breakfast was my familys best meal in which you have to queue for your eggs and then queue again for you bacon, beans, sausage etc, they also do churros and pancakes which are lovely, lunch and tea consisted of the same stuff day in day out, 1 hot meat, (chicken or veal or pork) and 1 fish dish then the dreadful pizza, chips, rice, pasta, and potatoes dishes at least 3 dishes of 6/7 had some form of spud in them. Even the salad bowl they do is disappointing. 1 night the main meal was chicken nuggets (haha)...
They said they had to accommodate the kids, most all inclusive have these on all day, This hotel has to be hands down the worst food ive had in any if the hotels ive stayed in. The people who also serve you are appalling and could do with a talking too, they literally throw the food at you and look at you in such disgust if you want more, I never seen anything like it. Even at the night time there could be a 20 person queue to get a pint of beer, (I've put pictures, I could easily put 50 plus queueing pictures) I 100% wouldn't class it as a 4* 3 at most. Only 1 restaurant/Snack place open and 1 pool Bar, no kids club and no evening entertainment, they do a very little activities for the kids during the day, less than 30mins (dancing and a board game) Also have to get up to reserve your beds in moning, you will not get one after 8. Gym and sauna closed which is fully understandable, however they could of opened another bar and restaurant to try cut the queueing times down. The best thing that could of happened is that they cancelled our holiday as not enjoyed it one bit, and for everyone else that was supposed to be coming be glad of the travel ban.
Get the 6 bus to Puerto del rosario, fantastic little beach down there, €3.40 each on bus (one way)
2 places to eat out (both not far from hotel)
Asia Garden wonderful Chinese (best meal we had)
Jaipur Great Indian
Would I stay again, absolutely not...
we did go for breakfast 1 morning and a worker stuck her finger in the beans and no social distancing at all pool is poor for a 4* hotel would not stay here again the only good point was very close to town
We stayed at Bahia Lobos 3 years ago and always rated it highly, this stay though sadly lacked the quality of our first holiday here.
Location: excellent it is perfectly positioned for the Main Street of restaurants, bars and close to the beach and water park.
Rooms: cleaned alternate days, there’s no bath in room just a shower. Beds are not comfortable with mattresses not particularly cushioned. There is a mini fridge in room and tv with channels to suit majority of nationalities, bbc1, bbc2 and itv for uk visitors...
Balcony’s are quite a nice size
Welcome: this was a big disappointment for us, after half a 5 hour flight and 40 minute transfer we arrived at the hotel at 9:15pm by the time we had checked in (and were NOT welcomed as returning guests) we were in the room for 9:30pm I went straight to the restaurant for a plate of food as I was so hungry after all the travel and was rudely turned away by a female waitress with a long black pony tail hair saying it closed at 9:30, I made the point people were still in eating and all I wanted was a couple of slices of pizza I could even take back to the room, this was refused.
Pools: 3 pools, 1 for small children, one separate for relaxing and more quiet and another next tot he children’s pool. A good size but the salt content was very very high. Entertainment by the pool for the children by Liga she was excellent and our children loved her, she was also extremely patient with some children who seemed to just want to distrust games and spray her with water - she is a real asset to the hotel, a major highlight of our stay. Thank you Liga.
Bar: poolside bar often had queues due to one person serving (I guess this is maybe due to Covid however staff in restaurant work alongside each other closer so not really an excuse in my opinion) they have various self serve options but the queues were still there. Bar man was very friendly and worked hard.
Sunbeds: The hotel took it upon themselves to stop people reserving sunbeds, whilst I totally agree it is wrong to come down in the early hours and reserve them. There was one morning people would be sat on them at 7:45 go for breakfast at 8, be back out at 8:20 to find their subbed gone. All it achieved was annoying people when a holiday surely needs to be relaxing. Poor management decision to do this. And Covid can not be used as an excuse, sunbeds were occasionally jetwashed, we were down every morning early to see this was not a daily occurrence.
Food: A major let down and our biggest disappointment whilst were. A chef called Raul was always very friendly and welcoming apart from that. Very little variance in food. Kids get pizza or pasta, no other choices. Queues at meal times are bad, it all felt a bit school dinnerish, lined up to be given your ration for the day not been able to serve yourself. When we were here three years ago this was the major positive of the hotel with themed nights every night including Italian, asian, Canary - this has stopped and for that major reason the hotel for me is not a 4 star anymore but instead a run of the mill 3 star.
Stayed 22/7/20. Check in at 10 30pm was terrible. 1guy on desk with 5families in front of us took us just on an hour...
they must know how many are booked in an what time. Cant be a covid excuse as then ext day there was2 staff. Told on arrival only buffet restaurant open and need a time slot had to set an alarm on holiday. Only ever done that for excursions. Why not open up the other restaurant so people could space out more ?(another cut corner). Social distance till you have a table then its a free for all and the queing system is pointless. Que for meat or fish then que again for sides. Then for kids pizza 1 end then chips right at the other end. Have to walk past people far too much. Food isn't bad but can't have a coffee after lunch unless you leave the restaurant and go to the bar. Rooms where very good and cleaned once during our weeks stay. The sunbed situation was terrible towels on some all day long from 7am and nobody touched the bed come 4pm. And parents should get preferences of a kids pool sunbed if you have kids. Its safer. Its not 4* its clean and nice but I wouldn't return.
