The rooms are distributed in 4 buildings of 2 floors each. Several solariums equipped with sun loungers, sun shades and showers. Two freshwater swimming pools from which you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the sea, the isle “Isla de Lobos” and Lanzarote.
The forty-four double or triple bedrooms, in standard category or sea view category stand out for their decoration in white and indigo colours and their ceramic floor with wood effect that brings freshness and elegance. Each room and apartment have a desk where to work, write and be inspired by this wonderful environment. We would like to highlight the large glass walled bathroom, with premium towel sets, ecological amenities, hairdryer, magnifying mirror and Italian shower with glass screen.
For those who choose a more independent stay, the TAO Caleta Mar Boutique Hotel offers fully equipped apartments with sea views. All sea-view apartments overlook the islands of Lobos and Lanzarote, the bay of Corralejo and the pool. The bedroom of the apartments is very bright thanks to its glass door with access to the outside.
Its location is unparalleled. At the entrance to Corralejo, beside the beach, in the Dunas de Corralejo Natural Park and in front of Lobos island, Lanzarote and the Corralejo bay, it positions Hotel Boutique TAO Caleta Mar as one of the establishments with the best views of Fuerteventura.
Just returned from a week’s b&b. It was a lovely stay, the rooms, pool (chilly) etc were all very clean and the gardens very well looked after. Breakfast was plentiful. The staff were all helpful and professional although perhaps not overly welcoming, the first greeting tended to come from guests rather than staff. The nearby dunes beaches are only a short walk away and are quite a sight. The hotel is quite a long walk from town but was very quiet which was appreciated. Taxis into town were around €7, the after 10pm return around €9. I assume the hotel was around half full (?) which obviously added to the quietness.
Another lovely stay at this hotel right on the dunes. It is right on the edge of town which we love.
We enjoy the walk to and from the town centre but taxis are cheap and strictly regulated by the local authority if you prefer. The walk takes about 40 minutes and there are various routes. All of them easy and pleasant walking.
Not sure what the one star review in March is all about. There are no arrivals or departures during the night as the airport is shut. Might have been guests coming back in late I guess. We have NEVER had any noise or problems.
We have never encountered any children in our stays as there is nothing really for them at this hotel.
We always stay in an upper sea view room which are bookable through Jet2 and cost just a bit more. If you like the sun these rooms get this in full in the morning only. I always decamp to the pool in the afternoon if I want more.
Breakfast is good and well stocked. Staff efficient and the fried eggs to die for. The only gripe is that the hotel REALLY REALLY needs a second coffee machine. (please )
Due to the location the breakfast room windows do get salt on them......re the bad review I don't honestly this there's much that can be done as the problem is ongoing. I don't really think it's a great issue TBH.!!!
The daytime bar and snacks are fine. Always fresh. Reasonably priced. Smoothies, rolls, hot drinks, ice creams etc.
The place is spotless and the rooms cleaned properly every day. Everyone has a smile on their face. Always glad to see you.
We have already booked for next February.
I think one star Geoff needs to stay somewhere else.....maybe home ???
I chose the Caleta Mar as it was one of the options in an easyJet package holiday. My main reasons were that it is handy for the beach and the Parque Natural. I was delighted with the size of my room, the lavish buffet breakfast, and the friendliness of the staff. The general attitude from everyone was that they are there to make sure you have good time. This extends to the cleaners, who did a great job every day with a cheery manner and would ask whether or not I wanted fresh bedding or whatever. Although a little dated in places, the overall feel is bright, clean, spacious and modern, with well-kept and interesting desert-themed planting around the buildings.
We had a lovely week here, our room was excellent, modern, spacious and bathroom was also large with a lovely large double sink unit. It was cleaned daily and towels replaced almost daily. We had a room at the front facing the national park, a lovely large balcony that got the sun all day but not the wind...perfect. Breakfast was good with enough variety of hot and continental choices. It was a very peaceful place to stay, we walked into the centre and got taxi back at night. The only thing that let's the hotel down is the pool that needs a bit of attention and the lack of roof top sun terraces which were advertised but weren't available.
Location was bit more out of way than we realised. 40 minutes walk into town , can go by beachside walk (nice but very windy) or follow the road. Going the other way out of town the beach on the dunes was nice, about 30 walking minutes to get to some nice sunbeds where there is a small bar. Tao hotel was pleasant. We had south facing balcony (most but not all of them face south). Very important as it shields the wind. Room was fine, beds comfy. Staff very nice. Breakfast was a buffet, would say it was acceptable but not wow. Weather was bit cold and very windy wasn't too much cover by the pool area to get out of the wind properly. Overall would say its a decent enough place as long as you are prepared to walk a lot or get taxis (just over 6 euros from town centre)
