Placed right in the heart of Costa Calma, Hotel Taimar is a 4 star hotel, just 800 mtrs far from the beach, with the help of our allies the sunny weather and the gentle breeze from the Atlantic Ocean, time goes by on its own rhythm.
There are three different types of rooms at your disposal: our Junior Suite, built with an open terrace or a balcony; same Junior Suite, adapted for people with reduced mobility and finally a choice for those who are looking for an exclusive experience, our Premium Suite. All of our rooms are equipped with WiFi, air conditioning, TV, mini bar, kettle, safe, shower, hairdryer, among other facilities.
In Hotel Taimar you will find two different areas; on one side, there is the common garden, restaurant, pool bar, our stunning heated swimming pool and solarium, and on the other side, our Premium area adults only, with an independent access, where you will find two water zones and a solarium exclusively for Suites Premium use.
Regarding our services, enjoy our new brand buffet restaurant, and pool bar. Half board is available, which you can turn into all inclusive.

Location: almost the furthest away you can be from the beach in the whole resort town. This is just a heads up as you need to know this before you book. It is about 20-25 minutes walk to the beach, if you take the walkway from the road towards Bar Africa (open to that hotel's guests only).
Atmosphere: no atmosphere really as very quiet around the restaurant area and pool bar most of the times due to no music, no entertainment. Occasionally they put YouTube music on the TV in the restaurant and turn it up so you can hear it.
Room: decent size, very good shower, always hot water available at all times of the day. Air conditioning in the bedroom is the only thing that really let it down the hotel experience, as the temperature seemed to be capped at 25C. With it being 30C at night in September, and upwards of 37C in the day - this meant that the room was always very hot!
All Inclusive: highly recommend the drink options as all wines come out of bottles, red, white, rose and cava (very popular!!). They also do a few spirits and liqueurs not advertised including a local bitter orange aperitivo to make an aperol spritz (also popular once other people see you with one!). The staff do a great job with the cocktails - shaking the ingredients to order, including pina colada, mojito and s** on the beach.
Overall: I'd only reconsider not coming again due to the location, the walk to the beach, and generally the entire Costa Calma resort being a bit run down compared to other places on the island, and other Canary islands which we frequently a lot. Food was average, drink packages above average, cleanliness was fine (daily cleaning), pool area great, lots of sunbeds etc always available - maybe the aircon situation could just be improved.
OMG THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE! Save yourself from this white walled hell hole 😩 the food is diabolical, the cleanliness is sub standard, the pool and pool area is small but ok, there is nowhere relaxing to sit and enjoy a drink at night unless you are happy staying seated at your canteen table, it’s like being in a nursing home waiting for god 👎 no music or entertainment the hotel is situated at the back of beond I will never come back to this depressing place we stayed at the club magic life in Jandia a few weeks ago for less money and it absolutely knock spots of this place, it’s just about a 3 star and nowhere near a 4 star ??
Taimar scrapes in at a 4 star by definition. It is a hotel that is designed for the day and definitely not for the night. Positives... The staff were nice and helpful. Room (prem suite) was lovely, amazing shower and lovely private veranda where I could have a sunbed and tan in peace. Food delicious, every day was different and the communal food area pleasant. The pool area was clean and opened at 10am when breakfast finished so there was no sunbed hogging... You could come down at any time and always get a bed. The wind was cooling in the day so you could lie out in the sun without boiling but it felt chilly in the evening. Negatives... The pool was cold (said it was heated) but it wasn't a nice temp.... Not many people in it. I knew there was no evening entertainment but there was no real social space for the evening. 3 high tables on the side of the eating area were all that was there. No comfy sofas at all...people tended to get their drinks from the canteen bar and go to their room. Overall it suited me & my kids for the week but I like evening entertainment so wouldn't be back.
First of all, I can’t remember the last time I truly, completely relaxed for such a long period of time. Somehow, the wonderful team at Hotel Taimar and the place itself made that happen — and for that, I am incredibly grateful.
As a hotelier myself, having worked in hospitality for many years, I know how much effort goes on behind the scenes to create a great guest experience. I genuinely cannot praise the whole team enough for such an amazing stay.
The rooms are super spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. A special thank you to the housekeeping team — unfortunately, I didn’t catch the name of the lovely lady looking after room section 081, but she deserves a huge thank you!
The bar and restaurant team — WOW, what a team! Always polite, friendly and smiling, even when incredibly busy between lunch and dinner service. I remember two names, Ahmed and Alid, but honestly, every single member of the team is a gem. You can really feel how much they care about their guests.
The swimming pool is a lovely medium size, clean and relaxing, with plenty of sunbeds for everyone — no morning battles or fights over them! 😊
The food was another highlight. My 13-year-old son and I genuinely enjoyed everything. There was always something to choose from and we were very happy with the variety throughout our 7-night all-inclusive stay.
The location is also fantastic for exploring the island. Costa Calma beach is just a lovely 10–15 minute slow walk away and is absolutely gorgeous.

Lots of Pros: Great value for money, food choice excellent, really comfortable bed, plenty of space around the pool, smaller and more personal feel, clean, fridge and kettle in room, to mention just some of the positives. Some Cons: Quiet, food and drink not available all day
