Set right on the beach in a picturesque bay next to the sleepy fishing village of Las Playitas, the resort offers state-of-the-art facilities including a heated Olympic pool, a Bike Centre with the latest road and mountain bikes, 5 tennis courts, a 700m² gym and an 18-hole golf course.
Every day has a new programme of activities that guests can join -including fitness classes like yoga, pilates, aqua aerobics and zumba; and social activities like guided bike rides, group walks and team sports. This hotel is suitable for cycling breaks and welcomes cyclists from all over the world. The hotel boasts facilities to support both the leisure and professional cyclist.
This is a profit extraction, basic hotel with dated facilities and poor food. Suited for young groups of sporty children as part of a school/club trip. Not the cleanest room and some of the fruit tasted very sour. The beach is very basic and the town sparse. Normal outside groups such as Matchpoint running the tennis/padel at a high cost with just the gym included. Not for a relaxing hotel break more of a bootcamp feel.
We unfortunately had a disappointing experience at Las Playitas Sports Resort. If you are serious and experienced when it comes to training and exercise, then Playitas will not meet your needs.
Reception: The welcome was unfriendly, and the staff had very limited English skills, which made communication difficult.
Sports activities: Most classes require both payment and manual registration at the sports shop. Classes get overbooked quickly, making the process stressful and poorly organized.
Facilities: The resort feels worn down, especially the Olympic swimming pool, which also requires an extra fee to use.
Apartment: Our apartment was far from cozy. The lighting was poor and clinical, creating an unpleasant atmosphere.
The only positive aspect was the buffet, which was actually good and varied.
Overall, Las Playitas Sports Resort does not live up to expectations, and we would not recommend it to others looking for a professional and enjoyable sports holiday.
Mixed feelings. Sports facilities still great. I really love the perfect 50 mtr salty pool. Nothing better than swimming outdoors and have your own lane. Yoga classes and reformer pilates became much more expensive (double price) since last year August. No reformer pilates classes on the schedule during my week there. Food in general very tasty, Healthy and enough to choose for everyone. Just one tip, please dont call it beetroot, carrot or cucumber juice if it is just apple juice from a carton and sweet as hell. That was much better last year. No omelets without meat anymore.
The main deception was the big groups of young people (i believe there for swim and padel camps) who made a hell of noise day and night and took over the complete resort. Atmosphere was completely different than end of high season 2024. Even then with more families, kids etc it was more relaxed.
The resort is good with lots of activities but the food is advertised as healthy and it is not. For a fitness resort the food is not healthy, the buffett is more quantity over quality. There was not lots of fruit selection and some of it brown and not fresh, same as salad. Very basic food. One night they started removing the food at 8.45 went it is meant to be on until 9. There is also very limited places to eat outside of the resort. The shops close ar 8 and the buffet stops at 9 rhis is very early, and there is nothing really to do in the evenings. My bedding was not changed the entire time. On arrival you are not told how to actually book classes but you actually need to que up at the sports shop at 8am to book a class for the next day (only some of them need to be booked, again they didn't explain this on arrival) and people start to que before 8 am and book up quick. This is a very outdated way to do this. The staff are nice however i asked three times for late check out and was told come back later. Then was told no yet another person was given it. Also on arrival i was told check in was between 3-4 but website says 3. You get given a beach towel but if you want a clean one it is. €3, other 4 star resorts provide clean beach towels daily. The beds get full quickly and some days people were laying on the grass. The food in the beach bar is poor and service slow.
We were looking for a chilled but sporty hotel where we could just swim, train and hang out. This hotel was perfect for our needs - everything is quite new and clean great layout. Food was really tasty and good variety …not really show food but I’d say very nice hotel food. Staff were friendly and laidback. Sports facilities were amazing and pretty quiet - many groups were travelling and training together. There is a good sports shop and little supermarket. There are 2 or 3 pools and a great little slide / playground. Beach is super close and black sand. The aqua aerobics is a lot of fun literally EVERYONE gets involved and really fun instructor / manager. Fuerteventura isn’t a party island and Playitas village is VERY quiet - we loved it as it was perfect and we don’t drink but if you like going out out then head elsewhere. The hotel nightlight was pretty low key and very chilled. The biggest flag for people is that you have to pay for most of the activities - if you do a lot of stuff it soon adds up. All in all we had a great holiday and loved it.
