Extremely disappointing experience We stayed at this hotel this week as a family of five, and unfortunately, the whole trip was a bitter disappointment. The biggest issue by far was the attitude of several members of staff, who were rude, unhelpful and, at times, extremely patronising towards both me and my family.
On arrival, after a long day of travelling, we were told that despite having booked and paid for a Presidential Suite, we were only permitted to use two of the three bedrooms. We had specifically chosen and paid for this suite because we needed the additional private space for our teenage children. The lady on reception was rude and unhelpful, and we were simply told to return in the morning and that it would be sorted out.
Unfortunately, the following morning we were met by another member of staff who was equally unhelpful and very patronising towards my husband. They remained insistent that we could not use the third bedroom that we had paid for, which was incredibly frustrating and completely unacceptable.
Sadly, our experience with the restaurant and bar staff was no better, with the exception of a few genuinely lovely members of staff. On several occasions, staff were unfriendly and even simple requests seemed to be treated as though they were a major inconvenience.
We also witnessed staff speaking loudly to each other in Spanish while appearing to make negative comments about guests. Whether or not we understood everything being said, the way this was done in front of guests was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable.
Overall, we left feeling very disappointed and unwelcome. A hotel stay should be relaxing and enjoyable, but unfortunately this experience was neither.
I would not recommend this hotel and, based on our experience, we certainly would not return. Awful and incredibly disappointing.
Our official complaint has still not been aknowledged as of now a week after it was sent via email. No attempt to contact us or offer any apologies or explanations.
My wife and I stayed in a superior room with sea view located on the 5th floor with a great view overt he pool area and beyond to the beach and lighthouse. The room was spacious, light and airy with plenty of storage space, although the furniture did remind me of 1970s G-plan. The ensuite had a walk-in shower, which always had plenty of hot water. The room was kept clean and tidy by the housekeeping staff, in fact the whole hotel was very clean. The only downside to our room was the air conditioning, which was just powerful enough to keep the room cool. Breakfast and dinner were taken in the spacious dining room or on the terrace facing the pool. Both are buffet style with hot and cold food, the freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast was especially good. My wife and I thought though that the dinner menu was slanted towards the Germans who are the majority of the clientele in the hotel. The food though at both meals was very good. Gentlemen are requested to wear long trousers at dinner, this is non-negotiable. The evening entertainment was mixed, on the stage inside the hotel or on the terrace outside the hotel. The standout acts for use were the spanish duo playing traditional spanish songs on their acoustic guitars, Betty (a spanish Anastacia) playing a mix of pop and rock songs on her guitar to a backing track and the spanish gentlemen ( whose name I have forgotten) who played his electric guitar to backing tracks, covering the likes of U2, Dire Straits, Queen, Pink Floyd, AC/DC & Santana among others. Would my wife. and I recommend this hotel, yes, it is in a good location, the food is good, the staff are very friendly and helpful, although they do assume that you are german, so a few words in that language is useful and the beach opposite the hotel is fantastic. Also we had a taxi transfer from the airport, because Morro Jable, where the hotel is located, is almost at the southern end of Fuerteventura. This took an hour, not sure how long a bus transfer would take.
Came here as a party of two. We mainly saw elderly German tourists at this hotel. The rooms were good and good quality but a little dated. Customer Service from the Cleaning staff was superb, all very friendly and very good at their jobs. Customer Service from the Catering staff was a little different though. Chefs were polite but the Waiting On staff were either very inexperienced and couldn’t complete simple tasks or were rude and arrogant with one of the Waiters actually shouting at our party of two because we had the audacity to pick a table that was meant for a larger party of two (all the other tables had either not been cleared or they were taken). On officially complaining to Reception staff about this Waiter we, the customer, had to chase this complaint up ourselves as I suspect they wanted to just forget about it. The hotel gym was very poor (see photo) and most of the equipment was either faulty or missing and was like a sweat box as there was no a/c for this room either. Staff “downstairs” at the desk were very polite though. The general area is okay but towards the end of our visit we did notice people “hanging around” outside the main hotel entrance which looks very suspect and at one point the hotel staff locked the main door. Would I come here again, no.
Yes it was a beautiful place to be …..BUT there were so many odd situations during our stay that made us so happy to be leaving after 2 weeks… too long. So the first one and the worst one. Breakfast finished at 11am we went at 10.40 got everything we needed well before 11am. At 11,05 we were still finishing our breakfast and a young, obnoxious guy came along and tried to take our plates while we were still eating. He stood watching us shouting you have 5 minutes,,,the rudest person ever. I was shocked never ever been treated this way. Then the evening meals were awful considering this was a 4 star hotel.mushy broccoli and awful seafood. The hotel is deathly no warmth or happiness. The cleaning staff were wonderful and friendly. The room was wonderful but I would never recommend this place if you want a happy environment there is something not quite right and it shows.
Delighted with our stay in a superior room with a sea (& pool) view & all inclusive. Stayed with my adult daughter on my birthday week. Lovely spacious room & big comfortable twin beds pushed together. Excellent large & quite private balcony with sunbeds, table & chairs & good views. Close to a range of shops & a very short walk to the sandy beach. Morro Jable village about 15 mins easy walk away. Parking available on the street close by (or private underground car park if you qualify). Arrived late but there was cava at reception & a magnificent 3-course meal saved for us (+ more cava!). All the staff were welcoming, hard-working & helpful. Pool was heated & there appeared to be sunbeds available most of the time (not always in the sun at this time of year!). 3 tennis courts & table tennis but crazy golf looked neglected. Good bar & excellent cocktails. Plenty of tasty variety for breakfast & dinner (labelling could be improved though). Entertainment was variable & typical of the Canary Islands but most not for us! Cute ‘resident’ cats … & a hedgehog family around the covered outside smoking area. We love the peace of Morro Jable & hope to return - almost certainly to this hotel as it offers exceptional value for money.
