This was our first holiday outside the UK since the pandemic so we spent some time looking at hotel options. The reviews for Occidental Jandia Playa were pretty good and turned out too be fairly accurate so we weren't disappointed. The hotel has excellent levels of service and cleanliness...
Our room was cleaned every one of the 9 days we stayed. The staff couldn't be more helpful and even when one German guest was particularly rude and obusive the staff involved handled the situation perfectly and without fuss resolved the situation quickly. It certainly gives the impression its run in a very orderly fashion and leaves little to criticise. If we had to be picky I would say the evening entertainment wasn't any great shakes and the hotel is a little distant from the town of Morro Jable but in fairness neither of these points were an issue during our stay. All in all a top class hotel for a fair price.
I really enjoyed my stay, the view from the room was amazing. The room was cleaned every day, wifi was working everywhere. Beautiful hotel grounds, I really enjoyed my stay and would go back and would recommend to others :)
The only downside was the lack if options for vegans in terms of food, but I still managed to make it work...
The fruit was fresh, they had some salad options, some cooked veggies, roce, pasta, and fries.
Second time staying here, this time we went Occidental plus, which gave us access to the private sun deck, an exclusive area of the dining room with waiter service for drinks, a sea view, one visit to the a la carte restaurant, one spa visit and premium drinks in all bars such as grey goose and Jack Daniels. Spacious clean rooms, lovely big pools and near the beach were other plus points. We couldn't fault the food, always warm and great service from Amadou in the exclusive area...
Can't wait to visit again
I spent a 5 day easter weekend here. Everything was OK but nothing was outstanding. The hotel is quite outdated and requires refurbishment. Food was acceptable but little variety. Although the hotel was very busy, there were no waiting staff in the bars or pool area and the only option was to join a long queue for drinks. Everything is self service. Take the PLUS option if possible as it gives you access to some quieter areas. Think motorway services with sunbeds (if you can get one !)
Good points - clean, beds comfy, food nice and a good selection (if warm), nice swimming pools, loads of sun beds Bad points - not enough staff (lots of queuing at bars and reception) didn’t really see the animation team. Food not always very hot. Poor quality alcohol...
Don’t take inflables for the pool, they aren’t allowed. It’s on a hill so a lot of steps and slopes. Swim up bar not open. My tip if you are going upgrade to all inclusive plus if you want a four star experience as I would only rate the all inclusive as a 3.5 star.
