Playa de Jandia

Enjoying breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean, this fantastic hotel is situated just a stone's throw from the famous sandy beach Playa de Jandía, stretching out over 25 km. The hotel features a swimming pool with terrace, piano bar, snack bar, restaurant and several sports facilities. The centre of the picturesque fishing village of Morro Jable with a wide range of restaurants, bars, shops and the island's largest shopping centre is just a few steps away.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Another fabulous stay

Review by susisav Hampshire

Our 5th stay and as good as ever. A week in the sun in a fantastic location, premium rooms and lovely people. Luc gave us such a warm welcome when we arrived very late Saturday night and Pablo made sure we had something to eat that night...

Rosa and her team looked after us fantastically well at breakfast and dinner (when your drinks arrive at both meals without you even asking you know you are in the right place 😊). This is the place we come to chill out and switch off and in the last 19 years it has never disappointed. Thank you to the brilliant team at XQ El Palacete. See you next year!

What a stay!

Review by Jo J Maastricht, The Netherlands

What a TOP hotel. It has only 54 rooms. Located in the quiet part of Morro Jable directly on the beach...

Predominantly older German guests. Not suitable for children. More than enough sunbeds at the pool. And what a fantastic staff, so friendly. Really everyone. Dinner was of excellent quality with lots of choice. You get a fixed table for your whole stay. The only pity is that with such room prices, you still have to pay € 2 per day for the safe. Definitely going back there. Absolute recommendation. (Transfertime is 2 hours from the airport)

Disappointing Experience

It was our first trip as a couple needless to say we were very much looking forward to our christmas vacation.
Our trip pretty much started off badly from arriving in resort, we were dropped off with our cases in front of the hotel next door, the driver pointed to our hotel which was situated 40mtrs away but was all downhill, with two flights of stairs. No one to help, once we eventually managed to get to reception with 2 large and 2 small cases we were greeted by a friendly reception staff once checked in, she helped us with the cases, as there was no one else around...

We had booked a Premium Room on half board basis, with a double bed, only to be provided with 2 single beds pushed together. The room was spacious, with a lovely view of the beach. The cleanliness was very good. The food leaves a lot to be desired. The food did not taste freshly prepared. Same breakfast served buffet style, the food was kept warm, very unpleasant, a mixture of salads, cheese and meats, although hot and cold drinks were served by staff. Evening meals, again very repetitive buffet style, very bland and warm, once put on cold plates we pretty much had cold food. We ended up eating out, some excellent restaurants very close by who served freshly, tasty hot food. The outside terrace had loungers, as always towels on beds and unused for hours!! nice pool. Well maintained. Sadly the hotel had no atmosphere, the staff although they did their best, spoke very little or no English, mainly german who were pretty serious most of the time. The other guests at the hotel were all very mature, german, we were the only english guests. The hotel is definitely geared up for the German guests. Had we known at time of booking we would definitely not considered this place, would given it a wide berth. Most certainly does not warrant the price we paid. I would most definitely not recommend this hotel unless you are very mature and want a very quiet vacation. The only positives are, location, and views.

An excellent stay

We had a fabulous stay.

All aspects of the hotel were to the highest standards and we were especially taken by the outstanding service level of all the staff, including Luc, Lola, Anna Maria at reception to Miguel, Abdullah, Hassan, Andrea, Samira, Begona, Esther in the catering service and Jesus the life guard to the friendly cleaners and technicians. I can not recall all of their names but they all made us , a family of different generations from grandparents to small children feel VERY well looked after and welcome...

Although children are highly welcome and can use the pool and the beach which is right in front of the hotel, I would feel the EL Placate is most suitable for couples or the more mature generation.

Further, the hotel is 5 minutes from the town centre of Morro Jable. As we were there over Christmas the food on the whole and especially for the Christmas dinner was of the freshest and finest standards and included fresh fish, cheeses, fruit, meat, salads, desserts and what one could dream of. It was mouth watering.

The El Placate is a hotel of the highest standards and truly exceptional. We have stayed on the island several times but we are most taken with The El Placate. Thank you to everyone involved for a lovely holidays.

A Very Calm, Relaxing, Quiet, Small and Friendly Beach Front hotel

Review by MillieCornwall Padstow, United Kingdom

This was our first visit to the the El Palacete in Morro Jable. It is a small boutique hotel that is absolutely perfect for a very quiet, relaxing, chilled out type holiday/break. If you like to party and live at a hundred miles an hour then this hotel is not for you - give it a miss...

The clientele is rather "mature" - and no one rushes....apart from the staff. It is a short walk to the beach and to the old town - a perfect location. The hotel is not at all glitzy. It is spotlessly clean and comfortable. Dominated by German guests. They staff are exceptionally customer focussed - all are very eager to please. Service in the restaurant is super quick...if you blink your plate will vanish. The food is good and plentiful and varied - it is buffet style at breakfast and dinner. The terrace, where breakfast and dinner is served in theses covid times has a fantastic outlook over the sea. Our room had a balcony and a sea view. The bedroom was spacious. The only thing I think was lacking was that the room had no tea / coffee making facilities. We really did have a great time.
