Where to start, on our arrival we checked in and was given a map with our room circled - we was told to make our way there (ok), only to find a good 80-100 stairs up a very steep hill which we had to navigate with our 14 month old in a pram, 2 hand luggage bags and 2 23kg suitcases! 

The rooms - the rooms are very dated and in desperate need of a refresh. The travel cot provided for baby was inadequate especially when I found out they put the mattress in upside down- I turned it over to find the mattress in a state where it should not be used, completely ripped apart. The bed for the adults- all I will say is if you want to sleep next to your partner don’t bother trying!! It’s 2 single bed pushed together but made up as 2 singles, so the duvets are 2 singles and the mattresses move apart during the night. The bed was comfortable but that’s all that’s good about it. The headboard is ripped and needs replacing to! 

When we arrived to room was clean other than some mould in the sealant of the shower. We had one day where our bath towels were replaced with hand towels which was interesting after a shower!

The food. Breakfast is your average all inclusive - over cooked bacon and all the accompaniments. Lunch has a very limited selection. Tea is awful, the first night we were happy enough but after this it was the same especially the kids selection- if you want your child to eat chicken nuggets every night then great, but don’t trust them as on day 4 our baby has started with D&V!! 

Drinks - soft drinks are readily available on self service. Cocktails are awful- they are pre made and taste like mocktails! Half the cocktails are ‘out of stock’ and the bar staff will just say no. 

The staff- the TUI reps have been great, the staff in the restaurant have been ok interacting with our baby, the bar staff are nothing but rude! I’ll leave it at that!

The sunbed situation is good - there are ample available, no one seemed to be reserving either. The pools are standard, the baby pool has been shut our entire stay due to part of the shade falling down, looks like it wouldn’t take long to repair but we haven’t seen anyone make any effort with this- this means there is the adult pools and a kids pool open- but none have any form of shade. There is also a splash park but this has not been open.

We are currently on day 4 of the holiday (yes I’m writing this while still here), we have made the decision we will have to eat out for the remainder of the nights but there is a lovely shopping centre across the road with some lovely dining options available there! We wish we could downgrade and finish the holiday self catering but after reading another reviews I’m sure we will be told no. 

We won’t be coming back here and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to spend their money on it either.

Not coming back - and we are still here!

There was multiple issues with our holiday, we upgraded to this hotel thinking it would be amazing 4 star????? First of all we arrived at the hotel and was presented with a map (we had 3 cases a pram with an 8 month old and multiple bags) they drew on the map how to get to our room, the route that was provided is took us up multiple steep staircases all the way to the back of the complex making us already regret where we had booked hotel staff passing us with no offer to help etc, why would this route be presented to us when there was a ramped path at the other side of the complex?????? Then we get to our room as explained we have an 8 month old so obviously have a pram with us, why would we be placed on an upstairs apartment? We had to carry the pram up and down every time up stairs which also had a turn to them, when there where perfectly able people placed on the downstairs apartments, secondly to this every single morning the cleaners used our staircase entrance as a dumping ground which should be a H&S concern leaving rubbish bags bags of towels and cleaning products on the top of our staircase which could of easily tripped us over when navigating the steep stairs to take our baby down, we arrived into our room, the one thing I requested was a double bed but instead we received two single beds on wheels pushed together which moved constantly and created a unsafe sleep space for us as I am a cosleeping mother, not only this but the bed frames where all ripped to pieces which I have photo evidence of, cot with graffiti on (also to mention a pillow in) and a thick unbreathable blanket leaving me unconfident to use your childcare facilities as you are clearly not up to date with safe sleeping practices! Hardly any water pressure on the shower and just all together a really shabby room, our air con was leaking which soaked through the playmat we brought and was soaking the floors every day it took days for them to come out and look and when they did it was still broken, I explained to reception this is creating a damp problem paint was falling and cracking off the walls and you could see the damp seeping through the walls, however you could tell the staff didn’t have a care in the world, hardly got our rooms cleaned as they tried to do so at 9am in our self catering apartment, is this not breakfast time? This is in no way a 4 star hotel room, and one of the worst I have ever stayed in, and wouldn’t be surprised if the air con issue and damp issue is the cause for my baby having respiratory problems on departure. I feel the orquadia main hotel was probably awarded 4 stars they have purchased the other places and used their stars on them without getting them re appraised as there is no way, it seems they haven’t been updated in years. Tea and coffee facilities never replenished and no milk on arrival? That is hardly tea and coffee facilities. We booked this solely for baby activities etc we tried to go to one of the baby swim classes however we turned up and there was one tui person sat on the side of the pool with a couple of rubber ducks no interaction etc, I don’t understand how this is suppose to help promote water confidence? Didn’t bother again. All in all seems the orquadia main area is the only place which is focused on and las pitas is forgot about, the local area is okay however only small shops and sit down eateries. Drinks are at an all inclusive standard and prices should be reconsidered as there is no measurements etc thought about which is fine if you are getting them ‘free’ but no good when having to purchase every drink, does not live up to the standards of a 4 star hotel at all and really needs looking into. I am disgusted to show up to a room with headboards ripped to shreds air con leaking like a tap paint flaking off of walls damp issues our one request not being taken into consideration ,uncomfortable unsafe sleep, days for requests to be taken and then not seen to properly when this is a ‘tui blue’ hotel and listed as 4 star

Don’t bother it is not what is advertised and can get a lot better a lot cheaper

I really want to write an honest review as the ones I have read prior to my holiday made me nervous…

Our self catering experience…

Checked in around 4pm. We was in the furthest apartment out however this did not bother us as it’s only a 6 minute walk to the pool area/reception. There are many steps to carry your suitcases and a few ramps but the steps are not really unavoidable unless you get an apartment which is within the first section of approaching the last pitas area of the resort. Again, this was not an issue for us as we managed fine but I can understand the complaints from the previous reviews. Apartment very clean and plenty of room. Room was cleaned regularly I think it was only one day which our bedding wasn’t changed. 

Pool area was lovely and the staff were very friendly! The TUI staff were fabulous and they were always on site! Plenty of activities throughout the day although we didn’t take part in many as we were enjoying catching a tan on our loungers. There are so many spare loungers, no need to go down early to place towels. Pool Towels can be changed twice a week. Previous reviews state there are black bits on the pool but we didn’t see anything apart from the last day which was quite windy so I imagine it’s from the trees although this was not a problem for us. No food allowed to be ate around the pool - drinks only! It’s very clean pool side so I can see why that rule was applied. Inflatables are only allowed in the activity pool only. Lifeguard is always on watch and asking any balls games and inflatables to be moved over to the other food. Also if seen eating they will ask you to eat inside. 

Self catering - there’s a spar and a supermarket across the road which is handy, although it’s limited. Basically lived off baguettes! Looking back we wish we did go all inclusive as there’s very few restaurants in the area. There’s a pizza place across the road and a grill house. The Chinese was closed due to holidays. Gorgeous food at both restaurants. Looking back we do wish we went all inclusive due to not being food being limited. The snack bar within the hotel had burgers, fries, toasties, fruit.. what is expected from a buffet snack bar although we didn’t try the food as we were self catering! The regret was real when you’re sat there seeing people go and have their lunch - drool. 

We we on a 14KM beach from walk down to playa del ingles.. (there and back) it was a lovely walk with lovely views right along the beach front. Stopped at a beach restaurant for a burger and fries!

TAXIS: Another day we went to Puerto Rico which was 40 euros EACH way.. pretty expensive but was roughly a 35 minute drive. Went to the shopping centre and had a beautiful Indian at happy valley! 

There were no complaints for the hotel apart from wishing there were more self catering options to eat at the hotel. Sometimes you just fancies a warm meal/snack!

Gorgeous stay

This was perfect family holiday. We stayed with Tui blu family. The hotel area is part of a complex with Orcadia the main hotel, and a few surrounding aparthorels close by. we stayed in Las pitas apartments which is in  the grounds of Orcadia. The hotel is like an oasis. It has lush green spaces and palm trees. On arrival we were assisted to our room with our cases by one of the resort very helpful staff. Our apartment was spacious, comfortable and very clean. We stayed all inclusive but had all the facilities needed if we were to stay under another board basis.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served in orcadia restaurant and there is a snack bar too. We had no problems with the food. There is plenty of choice for kids and as a vegetarian I was impressed by the choice. The snack bar is great too for a bite if you are too busy with activities to get to lunch.
We used the kids club facilities which are amazing. All the play leaders we encountered were lovely and the kids had a blast, everything was super well organised.
The entertainment team are great, really helpful and patient we took part in a lot of the family games. And the evening entertainment is fun too.
We would definately return to this hotel, we could not fault it is the best hotel I've been to and my family can't wait to go on holiday again.

Family holiday

We hadn’t originally booked this hotel but we love Bahia Feliz so we’re happy enough to see what was in store for us. 
Las Pitas are part of a larger complex and are very well maintained apartments. The gardens are so neat and tidy and you can see the workforce out every day making the place look fantastic. 
We almost always book self catering as we like the freedom but we did a few meals at the hotel Orquida with their All Inclusive guests. The food was very reasonably priced and plentiful. We enjoyed the food and were happy. 
Bahia Feliz is a small area so not a huge selection of places to eat and drink but what’s there is great. 
I can see various complaints here and yes Las Pitas is tiered but if we were not on a hill we wouldn’t have such spectacular views. 
The cleaning ladies are amazing and pay attention to detail, of course they must remove bags from the rooms but these are easily walked around.
