A super week in the sun

Review by ClareFairy Bramhall, United Kingdom

Had a super stay the first week of June. 2 adults, a 2 year old and a 5 year old. We stayed in a bungalow right at the back of the complex, a lovely and quiet spot. The whole complex was kept spotlessly clean and the staff were always polite and smiley...

We stayed all inclusive and we all really enjoyed the food. There was lots of choice every meal. We love the beach so we walked to the beach after breakfast each morning (about a 20 minute walk, I think there is a shuttle bus available but we liked the walk) we then walked back for lunch and spent the afternoons around the pool. A fantastic week in the sun.

Fantastic hotel

We stayed in the Masapolomas Resort by Dunas for a week in early June 2022 through Jet2 holidays. We are a couple with an 8 year old child who has additional needs.

The hotel is made up of lots of bungalows with little seating areas outside. A few also have their own sunloungers...

Ours had twin beds and a sofa bed. We would have preferred a double which was what was listed in the Jet2 brochure but it worked out ok in the end. Each bungalow has a small kitchen and a little outdoor room to dry clothes.

The hotel has 2 full size swimming pools plus one babies pool and a little hot tub type pool. We mainly used the largest pool. The week we went there were always loungers free by the pool and they have a rule that loungers cannot be reserved for more than an hour. Animation team offering lots of activities throughout the day at the pool. The pool has a pool bar which serves a buffet/BBQ of burgers, hot dogs and salad for most of the day. It has an ice cream machine where you can serve yourself and a full bar.

They also have a splash park and a playground.

I've seen a lot of people complain on here about the food and I have no idea what they are talking about. There was a good selection of hot food, simple food like pasta and pizza and then a BBQ. They had a mix your own gespatcho which was amazing and a mix your own salad in which you can choose base of cous cous, noodles etc, salad and dressings and mix it up.

Each night for dinner there was a theme (Asian, Mexican, Spanish etc).

Breakfast every day there was a choice of cooked, continental, pancakes etc and a chef making bespoke omlettes that were incredible! 2 different fresh fruit smoothies each day at breakfast too.

Lots of lovely fresh fruit and bread with every meal. Lunch and dinner you can have beer or wine on the all inclusive. Every meal there is coffee, soft drinks etc.

The Maitre'D who allocated the seating in the restaurant could see my son struggled with the noise and he tried to get us a table by the window where possible that he knew we preferred.

The bar at the disco served the usual drinks and also all inclusive cocktails. The mojitos made by Margo are top quality, as good as in any London bar.

The evening entertainment was amazing! The head of entertainment (I think his name was José) really takes pride in his work and his team. Most hotels you are bored watching bingo or long ceremonies of certificates before a bland act arrives that they have hired. quite late at night. At this hotel they had the mini disco for the kids at 20.30 then the show at 21.15. Many of the shows involved the animation team doing complex dance routines and multiple fast costume changes. They have energy, talent and they obviously like each other and their boss very much. I saw some performances this week that were worthy of a theatre in the West end of London. Particularly enjoyed the Broadway night. Each night as word got around about the shows, more people came along and there were crowds trying to see with their chairs as far back as the eye could see. They were also very kind. My son is quite severely autistic and they went out of their way to include him. Especially the guy who covered the mini disco 2 of the nights (I think he was called Theo) who saw my son have an issue meeting the hotel mascot Duni and took his hand and led him there to meet him. They repeated everything in Spanish, French and English and occasionally German as well.

My only small issue was the quality of the wi-fi. it was very patchy. It didn't bother us because we had lots of free mobile data but be aware of this if you need it.

On the final day for late checkout we were accommodated in the sister hotel on the same site called suites and villas. I had a massage there at the Hammam centre by Anna Vriel and would definitely recommend.

This hotel was so great that we would consider coming back next year! Thanks everyone for making my little boy's first holiday in three years so special. He is already asking to go back.
