This bungalow complex enjoys a stunning setting on Maspalomas Beach. The complex is located within easy access of the main attractions that the area has to offer, as well as an abundance of shopping opportunities, dining options and entertainment venues. Guests are welcomed by an air of peace and serenity. The bungalows are beautifully appointed, offering a relaxing home away from home in which to escape the rest of the world. The bungalows are well equipped with modern amenities, for added comfort and convenience. Guests are invited to enjoy the host of facilities and services that the complex has to offer. Guests of all ages will enjoy the entertainment programme that the hotel provides.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We stayed for 10 days at the end of June, and there are definitely some positives. The hotel grounds are genuinely beautiful, with two great pools, a splash park, and lovely surroundings. The food was good for an all‑inclusive, and although the drink selection was limited, what they offered was high quality — especially the local Gran Canarian rum, which I’d recommend. The guest mix was varied, which was nice to see. However, during our stay we experienced several occasions where other guests directed unnecessary comments towards us while I was with my children. Although this behaviour came from individuals, what concerned me more was how the hotel staff handled the overall atmosphere. The animation team consistently engaged only with certain groups of guests and largely ignored English‑speaking families, including us. I initially assumed they were simply focused on their main customer base, but things escalated during the England football match shown in the bar. Some guests were making jokes, which I didn’t take personally — but when the animation team joined in, laughing and making derogatory remarks, it felt unprofessional and could easily have caused tension. It’s disappointing to see staff contributing to behaviour that makes some guests feel unwelcome. Our bungalow itself was lovely, but the air‑conditioning barely worked and we had ongoing issues with blocked drains, which left a strong sewage smell. Reception did send someone out the same day, which we appreciated, but the problems were never fully resolved and no follow‑up was done. Overall, the hotel has huge potential — the setting, facilities, and food are all strong. But the lack of inclusivity from the animation team and the way certain behaviours are allowed to continue really let the place down. With better staff training and a more balanced approach to guest engagement, this could be a much better experience for everyone
We have just returned from an absolutely beautiful all inclusive holiday and had a fantastic experience from start to finish The food was amazing with a great variety of delicious options available every day The hotel facilities were fantastic and our bungalow was spotlessly clean and very well maintained throughout our stay The staff were very kind and helpful always going out of their way to make sure we had a fantastic holiday Everything exceeded our expectations we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing and very enjoyable holiday We would happily return in the future
We had a nice stay at Maspalomas and found the staff that did the kids entertainment - Alejandra and Grimi - really sweet and kind.
The food at the hotel wasn’t very exciting and was quite repetitive, but it was okay.
We stayed at Maspalomas by Dunas from 4th to 18th June and had a fantastic holiday.
We originally booked a two-bedroom family villa but were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a three-bedroom family villa on arrival. The villa was spotlessly clean, extremely spacious and had two bathrooms, one large and one smaller, which worked perfectly for our family. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. The only slight downside was that the bedrooms lacked some basic furniture. There were no bedside cabinets or bedside tables, just a small shelf above the head of the bed, which made it difficult to keep things like phones, glasses or a drink close by. The air conditioning could also have been a little colder, but it was still adequate.
The food was one of the highlights of our stay. Breakfast catered really well for British guests, with English-style sausages, fried, boiled and scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, pastries and an omelette cooking station. Lunch and dinner offered an excellent variety, including freshly grilled meats, pizzas, pasta, soups and different daily specials. There were also live cooking stations in the evenings, often serving wraps or other freshly prepared dishes. Drinks included fresh juices, soft drinks, water, wine and beer, all included with the all-inclusive package. Everything was cooked to a very high standard.
The poolside snack bar was another great addition. It was open for most of the day and served toasties, pizza, kebab wraps, hot pasta, fresh fruit, cakes and a range of drinks. Our kids especially loved making their own toasted sandwiches, which was a nice touch and meant there was always something to eat between the main meal times.
Every member of staff we encountered was lovely, friendly and always happy to help.
The hotel has access to up to four swimming pools, with two located at the neighbouring Dunas resort. Guests are free to use those pools, although the all-inclusive food and drinks are only available within your own hotel.
One thing worth knowing before you travel is that the hotel mainly caters for French guests. That wasn't a problem at all, but it was different from what we're used to as Scottish travellers, where there are usually more British holidaymakers. If you enjoy meeting lots of other British guests and spending evenings socialising in bars, this may not be the best choice for you.
The location is peaceful. It's around a 15-minute walk to the town centre, about 25 minutes to the beach where there is a great selection of bars, pubs and restaurants, and roughly 40 minutes on foot to the Yumbo Centre, which has plenty of shops, bars and is especially popular with LGBTQ+ visitors.
Overall, we had a brilliant stay. The food, pools, accommodation and staff were all excellent. We may return one day, but would probably look for somewhere closer to the busier parts of Maspalomas. That said, we would definitely recommend Maspalomas by Dunas to couples or families looking for a relaxing, all-inclusive holiday where they can spend most of their time enjoying the resort.
We arrived to find we had been upgraded to a two bedroom villa. We had already paid for a pool view so this was now the best of the best. Spotlessly clean and indeed on the pool edge. Cool and modern with maid service. Fridge, microwave etc.
Food at breakfast and lunch wad excellent. Not so great at dinner but always found something to eat.
Staff were spot on and attentive / knowledgeable. Special mentions to Louis at the pool bar, what a memory for drinks and to Soukaina on reception for her advice.
Already looking forward to a longer than 5night break here next year. So peaceful.
Well done to all.
