Have just returned from a week away here. A much needed holiday for me after 2 years and having worked all through the lockdowns and surviving Covid pre jabs. The hotel itself is fine...
Kept very clean and though some of the food was a little repetitive there was always something. The drinks for me was a little restricted as the spirits I do actually drink were not on the AI. However the rose wine was fine with lemonade in and the local Baileys was pretty good. The water that was available at the bar was warm so went and bought bottles of water from the nearby shops and kept them in the fridge. The animation team were fun and did a good job. I enjoyed the aqua gym. My main bug bear was how many people were in the hotel during a pandemic. The restaurant was very, very busy at times and although people did wear masks while walking round and selecting food sometimes it was impossible not to bump into people. The same with the sunbeds. Crammed round the pool and the biggest bug bear was that in order to get a sunbed on the sunny right hand side of the pool I had to keep getting up at 7.30am to go down and put towels out as by 8am you could not get a sunbed. It was ridiculous. There was even a sign saying dont reserve sunbeds which was just a joke. I dont want to be doing this when Im on holiday. I want rest and relaxation and this wasnt possible. Although the hotel was good for a 3 star hotel I doubt that I will go back there.
We have been here for 10 days. The staff are wonderful and friendly. Hotel is spotlessly clean...
Food is good, I am a fussy eater and managed to each something different every day. The entertainment could do with more effort especially in the evening. The entertainment in the day needs more variety. There are no inflatables allowed on the pool. There is a separate pool for the little ones. Overall a great holiday, weather has been hot every day, but gets a little chilly in the evening
First of all this hotel should be a 4 star my husband and I are just back after spending a relaxing week at the Mirador and I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. You will not go hungry staying here as there is plenty to choose from and the same can be said for the drinks. The staff are so hard working and polite, our room was clean everyday and fresh towels left everyday...
Although it is situated at the top of a hill there is a free shuttle bus to Maspalomas beach that runs all morning and returns are all afternoon. I don’t have one complaint about the Mirador and we will be returning for an 11 night holiday next March.
This hotel is clean with a beautiful pool & plenty of sunbeds. It has got lots of steps so be prepared. We arrived at 9pm our room was in block A we had to carry heavy suitcases up quite a few steps as we were not told about the ramps although this is a long way round to this block...
Lifts available to rooms. Great view big corner balcony number A416. All inclusive menu not given on arrival or whats available but we did not know about the qr code( no technology know how lol) unfortunately because of this we were unaware of the variety of drinks available. vasela customer service manager is brilliant & goes out of her way to help & because there is no air con only ceiling fan & it was very hot my autistic son was struggling so she kindly gave us a unit to use which made our holiday so much better. We were able to keep one room till 6pm as our flight was late, very appreciated. The food is somewhat samey as the usual all inclusive but it did get better. We did eat out on a few occasions when there was nothing we fancied. Taxis 5 euros into plays del ingles or maspalomas. Entertainment needs improving as does the music as on repeat. Indoor bar needed for people who don't want to sit outside or want a quiet drink at night it's a long distance from room to get a drink. There is a fridge in room so we had to buy drinks to put in for the evenings. Hotel is very Spanish orientated especially at weekends although understandably it is their main clientele. A reasonable hotel for a few day's away, bit boring for more than a week depending on what you want. We did enjoy and have a lovely sunny holiday after getting the problems sorted so all you need to do is ask but ask for customer services manager rather than at reception as although they are very helpful they cannot resolve the issues.
Pretty standard Spanish all inclusive hotel really - food generally good and quite extensive, the dining hall is loud and sometimes frantic but this is expected given the number of guests here, it seems they are fairly rammed in. This is particularly noticeable round the pool where the sunbeds are literally touching each other and there are still not enough for everyone. We noticed the large majority had towels on from very early in the morning but were never actually used all day - a real frustrating occurrence which the hotel have a duty to manage...
When we stayed at the nearby Barcelo resort the pool attendants would remove any towels from sunbeds which had not been occupied for an hour, a perfect solution which was extremely effective.
Also when booking we didn’t realise there is no air conditioning in any of the rooms here, a fairly dated and unexpected situation to be in, and this certainly made a difference when in our rooms and found it hard to cool down, especially in the night when you would wake up sweating. Bit behind the times from a guest experience point of view and certainly an issue which needs addressing.
However, the vibe here is fairly positive, it suits a lot of people and it was an ideal base for our nightlife antics in nearby masaplomas.
