Stayed here early May for a week. Flight landed early evening, we opted to take the bus to the hotel. After collecting luggage follow signs to bus stop, up the escalator then out of the airport, stop across the road. Not entirely sure of bus number, think it was Bus No 66, but if not correct, then there is a young gentleman at the bus stop who helps & gives directions. Bus journey about 20/25 mins, €3.50 per passenger. Tell the driver Centro Commercial San Agustin. Get off bus and turn left, follow the road. About a 10 min walk to the hotel. Plenty of taxis outside airport, fare for 2 passengers about €40.
Check in at reception very swift. Room on the 7th floor with amazing views. Welcome bottle of bubbly & bottle of water, due to direct booking with the hotel. Wi-fi worked fine. Very comfortable beds, walk in shower with shower gel & hair dryer supplied. Attached kitchenette with cooker, fridge, microwave, kettle, coffeemaker, crockery & cutlery. What’s not to love? 👍😁
Breakfast as before lovely. Selection of hot food, cheeses, cold meats, sandwiches, fresh fruit, cereals, pastries. Also served which a lot of 4 star hotels don’t do is the lovely fresh orange juice & water.
Swimming pool, plenty of sun beds. Pool bar open till 4p.m. Lovely cocktails at very reasonable rates as well as food also reasonably priced with good servings.
Staff right from Reception, breakfast hall, cleaning, all courteous & friendly. Special mention to Carlos, Killian, Marcella in the breakfast hall/ pool bar, Your service was fantastic.
Cleaning of room done by Nellie, very good in fact top marks to the cleaning staff who all do a wonderful job.
San Agustin Shopping Centre not far from the hotel with restaurants & bars. If you prefer walking it’s a lovely walk down to Maspalomas beach , about 45/50 minutes with plenty of bars & cafes on the way with beautiful views of the sea. Ask for directions to the Yumbo Centre, anther lovely shopping area with loads of shops, bars, & restaurants. Taxi to these places between €8/10.
Our 6th visit to this lovely hotel which we call a home away from home. 😁
Our special thanks to Azahara Campos. Your hospitality to us was next to none.
A lovely quiet hotel to stay in, book directly through their website for lovely service.
Looking forward to our next visit. Many thanks once again.
We stayed at the New Folias Hotel in San Agustin for 9 nights in February 2026.
The positive side: the staff was friendly and welcoming, especially Carlos, who worked very hard at breakfast and at the pool bar. The pool area was clean and generally well-maintained.
Unfortunately, several serious issues affected our stay.
The pool toilet smells strongly of urine. The safety deposit box was listed as an amenity on Booking.com, yet we were asked to pay €2.50 per day to use it. This should be clearly stated in advance.
The air conditioning failed during the last two days. The Wi-Fi in the room did not work at all. We were first told there was something wrong with our phones, but later, another receptionist admitted that the Wi-Fi “is not very good here.” I had to spend an extra €30 on mobile data. The only way to get a connection was to sit on the balcony at night.
The room also needs urgent maintenance: excessively strong shower pressure, rusty and stiff shower controls, cracked tiles near the service shaft, and a toilet constantly leaking water 24 hours a day.
For a 3-star hotel, basic services like Wi-Fi, functioning air conditioning, and clear information about extra charges should not be an issue. The hotel has potential, but management needs to address these problems seriously.
Great location, close to beach, shopping & walkways. Room is studio and has what is required for a comfortable holiday. Pool area is clean and has a lovely quiet aspect to the place with a pool bar accessible during the day. The hotel is for those who like a quiet relaxing break.
Best considered a 3* hotel. Good points - nearly all staff very pleasant and helpful Sun beds just about sufficient for demand Balcony lighting good enough to read by at night - not always the case at hotels! Air conditioning worked well Short walk to nearby shopping centre (for most local restaurants) Short walk to beach. Small kitchen area is very useful - 2-ring hob, microwave, kettle, crockery, pans and some utensils, plus fridge (though the freezer apartment in our fridge had no door so the whole fridge tended to get very cold). Not so good points - hotel showing its age - some cracked floor tiles in hallways, showers look dated. Breakfast choice limited Extra charge for room safe No bar or evening entertainment
One issue we had with the shower took 2 days to get sorted. It was a hand held shower with wall fixing to hold it. However the fixing was broken so that the shower if placed in it only pointed straight out - it couldn't be rotated. We reported it to the front desk to say it should be able to rotate, so they sent maintenance up who just put in a missing screw from the fixing. But no change to the shower direction, so back to reception to be told all the showers were the same. Fortunately we had seen other showers and our room maid helpfully contacted maintenance to say ours needed fixing properly, which it was then done. Full marks to the maid, zero to reception.
Great location & grounds. Lovely clean rooms & comfy beds. Everything you need in kitchenette. Pool great & pool bar. Amazing staff from receptionist, pool bar guy and cleaners. Cocktails fab.
