Maspalomas

At the hotel guests will enjoy a familiar holiday of relax and leisure in Maspalomas, the destination of the warm sun and golden sand beaches. The complex is located next to shopping malls, an amusement park, the local market and recreational areas; the airport is less than 28 kilometers away. In addition, southern Gran Canaria offers spectacular landscapes such as the stunning Maspalomas dunes or the kilometer-long Playa del Inglés. With the Maspalomas golf course surrounded by slender Canarian palm trees as a backdrop, the resort offers comfort and service in a cozy and familiar atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and some dispose of a terrace or balcony. The resort has pool area for adults and for children, also, sport lovers can joy the billiard and table tennis.

Overbooked

I booked 9 night stay back in April 2022 for 10th August. When we got a taxi from airport to this hotel happy and excited we were told at reception that they were overbooked so placed us in an alternative hotel. To say I was fuming was an understatement.

Family holiday at Koala Gardens

Review by becnmark England

We have stayed at the Koala Hotel with our 2 children ages 8 and 9 for 2 weeks and have had a really good holiday. The sun bed situation is very annoying, people do leave towels on beds for their whole holiday overnight and unless it’s a changeover day it can be impossible to get one. Even on days when they don’t even use the beds eg have gone out for the day, they still leave the towels on...

However in recent days we’ve noticed lifeguards have been removing towels so hopefully things will change. It’s not the hotels fault that people are acting rather selfishly by starting this trend and then everyone seems to join in as it’s literally the only way to get a bed. Perhaps they could clear up all the sun beds and stack them in the evenings that may help (although would require the staff to do this) Would also suggest the hotel invest in some more sun parasols as there aren’t really enough to go around and especially when you have kids with you they are needed. We really enjoyed the food and never had a meal where there wasn’t something we enjoyed. The best thing about the hotel is the entertainment team, they really do make a big effort and the shows they put on in the evenings were fantastic. I think our kids’ favourite part of the holiday was the evenings! All in all a great place to stay with family, we found the location fine as quiet, and taxis cheap to Aqualand and Maspalomas centre, we also caught the local bus easily to go a beach further afield. PS if you are thinking about leaving your towels on your sun bed all holiday…just think about where the cats might sleep … we’ve seen them making themselves very much at home on those comfy towel covered beds… just a thought 😬🙈

Lovely friend hotel

Review by Snow19781 Essex, United Kingdom

Me and my family have just returned from here and have thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Koala Gardens, the hotel is lovely and clean, with extremely friendly and helpful staff especially Yosue on the front desk what a lovely member of staff they have there always willing to help nothing was ever a problem.

The grounds of the hotel are lovely and well kept, the pools lovely and clean. WiFi thoroughly the hotel which was a must with a 13 and 10 year old...

Food was always nice however a little repetitive after a few days breakfast lovely my children loved the chocolate pancakes

Hotel a little isolated however taxi to the main strip by the beach only 5 euros.

Only think I would change is the fact the swimming pools other than the splash pool are all deep with no shallow end which for a family hotel I don’t think is a good idea as my son could touch the floor in the pools

Overall a lovely break thank you xx

overall a good Holiday

me and my husband did enjoy are holiday at this hotel the staff are friendly and welcoming the food was nice and was loads of options to choose from and it was different every day. Rooms was cleaned ever day. The hotel is in a very quiet area as there not much about in less you like long walks or catching buses or taxi’s as they are not expensive as there not much about other than holiday world which is 5 minutes away...

there was an issue with the sun beds at the pool side at this hotel as people do leave there towels on for days on end the lifeguards do remove them when they want to really to be honest that my only issue with this hotel is the bed issue but if the hotel don’t wanna sort it my advice is join them if you want a good spot as they do remove towels when they want to. if you ask the lifeguard about it he might remove them for you if they haven’t been used for 30 minutes. but in all i would say this hotel is a nice place to be for your holiday as a family or as a couple as they get involved with everyone.

Disappointing overall.

Review by Fiona R Fife, United Kingdom

Overall this was a disappointing place to stay. Food appeared to be quite good initially but by day 6 even the thought of what was to be offered was off putting. It’s repetitive and boring...

No real theme to anything with stews and food that are stodgy with chips and chip butties being or go to at times which was sad. This hotel is far away from anything really apart from Holiday World which luckily has some pleasant places to eat and entertainment for kids. It was noisy though and kept us awake until the small hours most nights. The kids club is noisy and the entertainment goes on till back of 11. Music is also repetitive and you can set your clock to certain songs throughout the day. The place is over run by cats which spend most of their time walking around in the dining area, stealing food from diners plates. There is a lot of cat faeces lying around on the volcanic rock plant beds so watch your feet. Even when looking out of the reception windows you can see cat poo lying on the faux grass ledges which is unpleasant. The site needs attention and tidying in general. Sun beds are difficult to get and most are reserved through keeping your towels on which the reception stated is not allowed. Blue towels were removed for a couple of days but returned to the same as before. Ground floor apartments appear to be able to keep as many as they like. Every other place I’ve been hoses the beds down every night and are either stacked or reorganised for the next day. This does not happen and there are definitely not enough sun beds for guests. Taxis are cheap and take you to Melonares to the beach which was lovely. Weather was amazing and we did relax at some points. The staff work really hard and are pleasant but it seems understaffed in certain areas. Sadly not for us but we made the most of our holiday here.
