We have stayed there three times and we still enjoyed it as if it were the first time as the hotel knows how to preserve its qualities.
The great strength is the service and the friendliness of the staff, especially in the restaurant. The staff in charge of cleaning the rooms are very efficient and just as nice. This hotel knows how to keep its staff over the years, low staff turnover, which reinforces the quality of its services...
The clientele is also loyal and many customers return year after year.
The food offered is varied and alternates between table service and buffet/barbecue type evenings. We enjoyed the quality of the food.
The garden is well laid out, generally quiet and very green, perfect for relaxing.
The rooms are comfortable, very clean and have all the necessary amenities, some of which could be a little more modern. For example, the soluble coffee could be replaced by a capsule system. The bathroom is small, but it is not possible to redesign the whole hotel and this did not really bother us. In fact, it has to be said that in general, the place has a nostalgic feel for the decades of the second half of the 20th century. Some would say that the hotel is not contemporary enough, but this is what makes the place so charming and what we like about it.
Room upgrading does not really offer anything worth it, except for the view.
The location is optimal, right next to the beach and the dunes of Maspalomas. We are looking forward to coming back.
Last day of our holiday to this wonderful haven. The staff, hotel, food, pool scene, drinks, location are as perfect as you can get. My wife and I have enjoyed our holiday and we will definitely be back next year...
Special thanks to Lilianne for something special and suggesting a spa treatment as we loved the massage. My wife commented that it was ‘the best massage ever’. Now for a walk to the Dunes and back in time for a swim and a cocktail followed with a fantastic meal. If your reading a review to see if it’s a good choice, believe me it is a great choice. Book it!
This was my first time at Palm Beach and I hope it will not be my last. I was travelling alone which I haven’t done for a while so was keen to chose a hotel where I would feel comfortable.
Prior to arriving I was able to ask for a room which was high up and facing the sea. I was so pleased to be granted my request! It was a beautiful room - 713...
It had an excellent view over the sea and the dunes. The balcony was excellent for watching the sunrise and also in the evening when the moon came up it was quite spectacular.
The room was large and had all the amenities you would expect. There was a good storage space, a save, fridge, kettle with tea and coffee, a hair dryer and toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion). There was a desk with a large mirror and 2 comfortable chairs. On the balcony were 2 chairs and a table. There was a tv but I didn’t watch any. I found the bed comfortable. The air con was very good. The shower and bathroom were great.
I loved the extra things like the turn down service every evening where you got a bottle of water and a sweet, and the complimentary fruit and water on arrival. You also got a newspaper delivered everyday which was nice.
The pools were good. The main pool I found a bit noisy and loads of kids were jumping in (despite the sign saying not to do so). I was relieved to find an adults only section which had a lovely pool with jets and water therapy points. There is also a brine pool just off this which is beautiful - it is private and parts are shaded and there is a jacuzzi and water jets there. I found that a lot of the sun beds got reserved very early and often were not occupied until well into the afternoon. This wasn’t so much of a problem but the beds in the sun were often all taken or the ones that got the shade. It was a shame despite staying there throughout the morning and afternoon that those that were not occupied were not cleared to make way for people who were actually there enjoying their sun beds! There was a pool bar service which I found was a bit hit and miss but I saw the bar tenders often enough when I was in the adult pool area!
The food is the real gem of this place. The breakfast is a buffet. They have everything you could want - cold meats, cheeses, salmon, yoghurt, fruit, juices and cava! They also have an omelette station and boiled eggs cooked to different times! A cooked breakfast is also available and sweet things like pancakes. There is so much bread to chose from and there are croissants available too. I really liked the juices as they had so many varieties. I had lunch at the main restaurant which I preferred to the bar area just because you got bread and olives! A good lunch menu.
Dinner was a mixture of bbq/buffet and served to you at your table. It alternated days. The served meals were excellent, a really great menu with high quality produce. The bbqs were also outstanding with absolutely lovely fish and meat available cooked in front of you. The themes when I was there were Italian and Asian - both were amazing. With all the dinners they have a dessert buffet, ice creams and a hot dessert available. The best bit was the cheese buffet! I actually said ‘wow’ when I saw it. Just amazing!
The hotel is situated very near the beach. If you walk out of the reception and go across the car park you will see a small path. If you follow this about 1 minute away there is a mini market and then there’s the path to the beach a few mins away.
There seemed to be plenty of parking in the hotel if you had a car (I did not).
They have an outdoor gym which looked good. They also have aqua aerobics, thai chi and yoga during the day.
The spa is good - I had 2 massages which were both excellent. The sauna area was closed due to covid when I was there.
My only annoyance was at times I felt service was a bit slow - to be fair they waiters were busy. But I felt that thinks like the hot drinks at breakfast were often offered during or after you had eaten. I would like to be offered when I sit down! I also had a wait a bit for my order at lunch on a few occasions at the bar Africano. This is really nit picking and didn’t spoil anything it was just something I felt would have made it even better!
Overall I had a super relaxing holiday and cannot wait to return!
We stayed in the hotel for 11 nights in july 2021. The hotel is superb in every way from lovely rooms, beautiful grounds and pool areas (super comfortable pool lounger chairs). The breakfast was absolutely delicious with a wonderful choice...
All the staff cant do enough for you and i must mention Ozwald on reception, who is so helpful and absolutely delightful. We are hoping to come back in November this year.
From the concierge to the reception to the restaurant, everything was an amazing experience. I have to mention Reception as a whole really, Timo, David, and the ladies, unfortunately, I didn't get their names. We wanted to take a short mini-tour of the Island, this was arranged by Timo and he also gave us the recommendations of the requirements that we preferred...
If you are black, be prepared, the German tourists tend to stare a lot especially at breakfast, as unnerving as it was, this is in no way a reflection of the hotel or their staff, as they were entirely accomodating to every requirement, including allowing us to sit further away from the crowd at breakfast.
We requested an upgrade to one of the superior rooms which was almost perfect, it felt like there were 2 single beds pushed together, although there were a few senior citizens in the hotel, we are still at that age where we could appreciate a full double bed as opposed to what we got. The bathroom was smaller than what we would have expected for the price, but it was definitely adequate. I would definitely stay there again, and if they had a discount scheme or subscription service, I would definitely sign up for it. I look forward to my return.
