Decent stay however attempted break in ruined the break

The accommodation was ok,the rooms are dated and need a freshening up but overall clean and tidy with maid service daily. The pool area is great but only the smaller pool is heated, the large pool is seriously cold and I bailed after 2 lengths. We stayed all inclusive and a good variety of food available for breakfast/lunch but the evening selection let it down so off into maspalomos for every evening meal.the 2 ladies that work around the restaurant and pool bar are great always in good spirits

Now the bad bit

At around 5:30 pm on Wednesday some thieving little toe rags tried to break into our room thru the bathroom window, luckily we were in the bungalow and disturbed them.after scaring them off and alerting the manager/security we found out that they had targeted at least 1 or 2 other bungalows in the complex

The manager came to see us and said they would contact the police/view cctv etc, also spoke to other guests who had been targeted

We heard nothing more from the hotel about it which was quite annoying, the entrance is a broken and constant open gate that anyone can walk in at anytime day or night, several of the outdoor lights are smashed or not working, very poor security and it put us on edge a little for the rest of our stay

Overall a decent break but we won’t be returning or recommending simply due to the serious lack of security at the complex

Peaceful break in a beautiful place

Review by CoganLoons Penarth, United Kingdom

We went for a week and the first time in Gran Canaria. The whole site is spotlessly clean and the bungalow are beautiful with a fridge, large comfy bed and large wardrobe, bathroom with a walk in shower. There is also a terrace with sun umbrella table and chairs...

Plenty of food, salad, fish, pasta, rice, vegetables, ice cream, desserts etc so no way of going hungry. The food could be a bit hotter but was not on my plate long enough for it to be a problem. Pool area lovely with plenty of sunbeds and the main pool, childrens pool and therapy pool with submerged massage beds and jacuzzi all together. You can sit on your terrace and not bother with the pool if you want and take a drink from the bar to your bungalow. The staff are really friendly and cannot walk past without saying ola. There is a small childrens play area by the pool. If you want entertaiment in the evening there wasn't any. This could be down to Covid restrictions. If you want childrens clubs, again, there wasn't any. Maybe spend time with your children or go elsewhere! There is a free bus down into the town if you want to go out and about. What we had for a week was a really peaceful break in beautiful surroundings to recharge our batteries. We will be back

Avoid! Ruined holidays!

Review by Paul14157 London, United Kingdom

There was no hot water for our 10 days stay at this hotel. We have complained at reception everyday. This is ridiculous! Beds are horrible to sleep in...

Hot food barely warm. No heated pool or hot tub. Water was freezing. Avoid if you dont want ruined holidays.

Lovely week, great value for money

Review by 683jackief Fareham, United Kingdom

Bungalows were lovely & spacious, nicely located. I would say the lighting in the bungalows was dreadful. It made us feel like we were in some 80’s interrogation!

The pool area was clean & spacious...

However the pool was freezing & this meant that hardly anyone used it. I didn’t go in all week & my husband went in once a day.

The buffet was pretty good, but much smaller than we’ve been used to in other hotels. However, this doesn’t take away from the quality of the food. We found something nice to eat for all three meals during our stay.

The staff were friendly & helpful at all times. The uniforms the staff have to wear is old fashioned, females having to wear thick tights, skirts, blouses, waistcoats & ties! A simple polo shirt & skirt would be just as nice. The hotel is a little out of the way & about 40 min walk to the beach - which could put some people off but taxis are super cheap. The gym was pretty good with cardio machines & free weights. Overall, pleased with the hotel & would go back

Great service, accommodation & Staff

Review by Noel F Camberley, United Kingdom

We arrived at the Suites Jardin Dorado after finding out that the original holiday booking at another resort was cancelled by mistake and we were left stranded. Contacted Love Holidays and they tried to get our booking reinstated but fortunately for us they didn’t as it turned out. Love Holidays found the Suites Jardin Dorado and we were so shattered as my wife has Terminal Cancer the last thing we wanted was more stress but once we got to this resort they greeted us with a smile and gave us water while we waited for our room...

Once our room was quickly sorted out, we were really pleased to now be able to relax. The reception sorted out a kettle and took away the small cooler fridge and installed a proper cold fridge and this was done within 10 minutes. I have decided to put this review on here highlighting the staff employed at the resort, who were absolutely first class, hard working, warm and very pleasant and are a credit to their employers and we would like to thank them all. The resort is just 5/6 minutes from Maspalomas Beach and 7 minutes from Holiday World. The Yumbo Centre in Playa de Ingles is roughly 7/8 minutes away 4/5 euros by taxi where the are loads of shops bars restaurants, chemist/doctor etc. If your going to Holiday World try walking 4 minutes walk to a Spanish diner called Pepe Cheringos as the food is cooked fresh and is a third of the cost than at Holiday World. Example a large burger and chips, 20 pieces of buffalo wings and chips 2 pints and a frappe and a Baileys 23 euros roughly £20. A pint in Holiday World is 5 euros the average meal in Holiday World is roughly 50/60 euros for two people. Also behind Pepe Cheringo’s is a large park with a lake picnic area and a concert area. Overall a great place to go. The Suites Jardin Dorado has an all inclusive offer. But personally we just had the free breakfast which was very very good with food cooked in front of you. There is a microwave which I used for warming my food ie beans. We heard from other guests that the all inclusive meals were a mismatch of items and most people said that the would not book an all inclusive again. Now as we didn’t go all inclusive I am only saying what other people told us, but as you know everyone has their own opinion on things. There is no evening entertainment and the place is quite empty at night and during the day. The place is spotless and just outside the entrance to Suite Jardin Dorado is a bus stop that take you into Maspalomas and on the other side of the road Is a Supermarket nicely priced. The golf course raps around the complex and it really is relaxing oh I nearly forgot there is a pool table, tennis table, a kids play area with climbing frame, a kids slide & play springy things to amuse them. For those who want to go into the pool but don’t like the to use the steps their is gentle slopping steps you just walk into the pool. You also have a private enclosed courtyard where you can sit soak up the sun or dry your washing on the pull out washing line. Enjoy your stay and I hope you like the review. The temperature ranged between 26 to 34 degrees during our weeks stay.
