The 5* resort H10 Playa Meloneras Palace is located in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria. Just in front of Meloneras Beach, the hotel occupies a beautiful spot overlooking the Atlantic Ocean as well as being next to exclusive Golf courses. Being in Maspalomas, you are only a short drive away from the areas of Arguineguin and Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria, with various entertainment venues in close proximity.
The facilities here at H10 Playa Meloneras Palace are second to none, most notably a large outdoor infinity swimming pool which overlooks the crystal clear blue waves of the ocean, as well as another 2 separate outdoor swimming pools and a children's pool, you will be spoilt for choice to find your spot to soak up the sun of the Canaries. The hotel's on-site Spa is sure to provide full relaxation during your stay, with an abundance of treatments available. Being spoilt for choice seems to be a regular occurrence here, with a variety of restaurants and bars to dine at, including a snack bar beside the pool, which offer delicious cuisine.
The 5* amenities do not stop once you enter your room. A light coloured, beautifully decorated guestroom awaits you with stunning views of the hotel's gardens for you to gaze over on your furnished terrace. Fully air-conditioned, the room will have complimentary Wi-Fi, a fridge or mini-bar, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. Upgraded rooms are available at a supplement.

Lets start with the positives: the staff are all amazing, so friendly and genuinely helpful. The whole hotel is spotlessly clean and everywhere is well maintained.
However, doing the all inclusive (not privilege) meant only one place to eat for every meal and that was the buffet. The food was good, but not varied, which meant every breakfast dinner or lunch was practically the same. We didn't go hungry, but would have preferred more options You can eat at other restaurants but you have to pay (they generously give 10% discount on this food!)
We found that the first drink offered anywhere (be it bar or buffet) was very prompt, but after that it was almost impossible to be served again. Not sure if this is a deliberate ploy to save money or just overworked staff. Also they only have about 5 cocktails on the AI or you have to pay (we went into town to get our annual margeritas).
And talking of saving money, the fact that you AI stops at 12 noon regardless of what time of day you leave is simply cheap. I have never experienced this before so assume it is H10 thing. You get a voucher for lunch if you ask for it.
We also had quite long distances between bedroom and the buffet/reception (500+ steps) so don't leave anything in your room or you will have walked 1.5km! It was a complicated lift system to access our room (this lift down to floor 3, then walk along a corridor to another lift to go up a floor).
Summary: Despite having had a lovely holiday we would not recommend this hotel nor we would not go back to a H10 hotel.
Wow estupendo,this was an amazing hotel magical and so relaxing. My congratulations to the man in charge the professionalism and the presentation was better than I have ever seen in many hotels around the world, every evening we were taken to another experience in music from the great musicians to individuals who played in the cafés then afterwards we were treated to more professional music shows which were so exciting and memorable from El DEVO to tribute bands the presentation of meals and variety beyond the norm from wonderful meats to a splendid table variety for all tastes spectacular choice of sweets and wonderful wines from around the world. I didn’t want to leave but now at home even more amazed to relive these moments and definitely want to return to H10 soon. MC Wheatley.
Just returned home and had a wonderful week at this hotel. We paid extra for the privilege upgrade and were not disappointed. We didn’t use the privilege infinity pool as it was a bit quiet for us as we were six ladies and like a good chat. We were able to eat in all the al a carte anytime although had to book. Great activities throughout the day but evening entertainment not as good as Tenerife. The last night it was Queen tribute band who were excellent but other days a bit subdued. Rooms beautiful but they need to sort out the a/c. It never seemed to cool the air in the room so had some hot sticky nights. Also the wardrobes do not allow for ladies long dresses. The shelf above the rail is a waste as the rail should be raised. My long dresses got creased as they draped on floor so had to hang them from picture rails. Not ideal. Otherwise it was a beautiful hotel. Lots of foliage and cacti. And the staff were amazing. Particularly the entertainment team.
Perfect hotel. Rooms lovely and hotel super clean. Excellent value for money. Nice pools. Excellent food and restaurants and wonderful staff. It’s my seventh visit so that speaks volumes.
The resort itself is gorgeous — really clean, modern, aesthetic and well maintained, with lovely pool areas including an infinity pool and lagoon-style pool. The evening bars were also great, especially Tropical Chill Out with music most nights, plus the lobby and disco bars.
The main thing that let it down slightly was the service and some of the smaller 5-star touches. Check-in felt a bit strange as nothing was really explained to us — no hotel map, pool towel information or general welcome. We arrived early and when I asked if there was somewhere to get changed or freshen up, we were just pointed towards a toilet downstairs.
The welcome drink experience also wasn’t great. We were given a limited list of drinks, and when I asked for a coffee instead the lady initially said no until she noticed my all-inclusive band. It just felt a bit unfriendly and not the best first impression.
The sunbeds were also quite basic with no padding, which surprised me for a 5-star hotel. There was no poolside table service either and nobody really came around collecting glasses, so we weren’t sure what to do with them. On the cloudy Sunday the pool bar was closed altogether, which seemed unusual when people were still around the pool.
Some staff were absolutely lovely, funny and helpful, especially the men around the Tropical Chill Out area, one named Noel was particularly good but others weren’t always very attentive. One rainy day people were still sitting outside and we were moving chairs and umbrellas ourselves, which again didn’t feel very 5-star.
Cocktails were lovely too, would have been nice to have a few more options as I had pina colada or passion fruit martini every day but still ok, nicer on evenings!
The buffet was amazing, this truly was 5 star, they had so many options and it changed every day was really impressed.
The room itself was gorgeous, spacious and very comfortable for three adults. It was clean and modern, although we only had two mugs and two outdoor chairs, and one day the bedsheets had holes in them.
Overall we had a lovely holiday and the hotel itself is beautiful. I’d still recommend it, but personally I wouldn’t put the overall service and attention to detail on the same level as some 5-star resorts I’ve stayed at in Greece or elsewhere in Spain
